Hi all,

My brain is like mush today, I just can't remember anything I've just read. Was up late last night cos had a bit of an arguement with DH, although not really sure how it started!!! All sorted though.

DH has started a sweepstake at work where his workmates can guess when the baby will be born. The winner gets half the money and the other half is going to the BHF (cos one of his workmates died a few months ago of a heart attack).

mw appointment tomorrow and then later on the HV is coming to see me. I'm assuming it'll be a 'meet & greet' kinda thing with her telling me when they'll be visiting/what their role is/how to contact them etc. Anyone have any idea how long she's likely to be here?

Mum is driving me mad, she keeps asking me if I've had any signs I might be going into labour and that sort of thing. FGS I've got a little over 2 weeks to my due date (5th) and it'll probably be late anyway!!!

CaptainDippy · 20/03/2007 12:07

Octo - No, I just put my normal washing liquid - seems to do the trick just fine!

I am having a low of lower abdominal pain right now - bit of a V.incomfortable.....

Or "uncomfortable", even!

Hiya loves.

GMM, whilst I am glad to be on mat leave, I found myself a bit weepy yesterday being first day off. It is quite hard to just switch off. I have been accessing work email from home and am saddened to have had no emails (well not work ones!) and I feel a bit insecure. Hope your day perks up a bit.

Katy, hope your Tesco order came. Mine came about 20 mins ago, so now feel I can get on with stuff.

With you all on the crapness of The Night Garden - what a load of utter shit. Even Becky asked for it to be switched off. And as someone else said, what a strange time of day (6.30) for it to be on, esp as it seems to be for the teeny tiny tots. I actually feel like writing in and saying how pants it is!

1b3, so sorry to hear you are not sleeping properly. Are you putting a cushion under bump so it isn't hanging too heavily and straining your back? Don't know what to suggest really.

I can't remember anything else!

Need lunch, so will be back later on.

Hello to everyone, and I hope you are all ok. xx

CaptainDippy · 20/03/2007 12:12

Hi SOSPL!!! >

Off to work now - hoping pains will ease - ow!

Anyone see that programme last night about the families with 10+ children? All most odd If I'd started younger, I might have gone for more than two (two sets of two, ten years apart, would have been lovely), and I can see the attractions of a big family for sure, but more than TEN????? Biz-arre.

I don't do CBeebies - but only because we do DVDs instead Pingu MEGA-popular in this house, and Postman Pat, and the Teletubbies. I know many of you don't like the TTs, but I think they are great: the way they move just like toddlers is fascinating. Blimey - I used to have a brain...

No labour signs here, which is just as well as we are far from ready. Sigh. Can't wait to finish work, so I can really get sorted.

Hope someone gets a baby - or two - soon

Katy44 · 20/03/2007 12:33

I wanted to but DH wouldn't let me! He said it would give me ideas
Was it a wife swap (people are awful) type program, or was it a genuine look into big families?
(For anyone thinking I sound very highbrow, I'd prefer the first type )

eca · 20/03/2007 12:43

hi all

Nutty HV came for one of those visits on friday and was here about 3/4 hr. Went through lots of leaflets with us (as in turned the page and practically read them to us ) and told us what to expect from them, showed us the infamous red book etc.

Cd hope the pains are lo trying to have a wriggle and turn round.

Sorry to hear about all the crap nights last night. Mine was much the same. Even extra strength gaviscon doesn't seem to help the heartburn that wakes me up in the night!

Feel like i should seriously be thinking about doing some bulk cooking for the freezer (usually I'm obsessed with it!) but just can't seem to get myself motivated. Even dh is offering to help!

Did make some asparagus soup for lunch though -yummmeeee- !!

octopussyintummy · 20/03/2007 12:44

Hello Nutty Buddy

bubblez · 20/03/2007 12:49

Hello everyone,

Haven't read through properly but I see that there haven't been any 'special deliveries' over the weekend!! shame!!

Bugmum thank you for the addvice re breast feeding/expressing (it was a good few threads ago)...xx

cd don't want to get your hopes up but maybe the lower ab pains are first signs of labour!?!?!? oh just got a tingle of excitement..

1b3 sorry to here that your finding sleep uncomfortable, I think the pillows idea is a good one, worth a try. Fingers crossed you have a better night tonight.

Emmymummy I get the shakes and shivers when my blood preasure drops and the sweats.... maybe it was that?!?!

Well feeling heavy, stretched and strangely calm about going into labour over here... Oh and doing a load of 'nesting' (I can't control myself).... But no signs of labour yet.

Mia has come down with a cold and was running a temp of 41degs C last night (poor thing)... Maybe it's a good thing that lo is staying put at the mo.

37+1 (or 2weeks and 6days to go)
xzx

Bugmum · 20/03/2007 12:51

Katy - somewhere in between. It set itself up as a proper look at large families, but it couldn't help the little sideswipes, and the VO saying things like, 'The Xs are on benefits...' over shots of them smoking. Bit snidey really. But I loved it

Katy44 · 20/03/2007 12:58

Right, that's the last time I let DH have remote control control!

geordiemacminx · 20/03/2007 13:03

did anyone watch the drama mobile last night? quite intersting for me and dp as we have both worked in the industry for 8 years.. planning building and testing mobile fone masts...

have to say i found keith allan quite sexy..

Pesha · 20/03/2007 13:06

Hello again

Still havent made cake but have bought butter and eggs so thats a start
Feeling really sick again today, think thats what im most looking forward to about not being pg anymore is not feeling sick all the time, really cant wait!

Sorry that sentence doesnt make much sense but cant seem to think how to write it better - brain really not working today.

Both my dc have sheepskin rugs that my sister bought them and both are machine washable on a delicate wash. Have to give them a brush afterwards to get the fluffiness back though!

Ds loved that night garden thing last night although me and dp thought it was utter shite! Well alot like teletubbies so prob ok for little kids but 6.30pm is totally the wrong time to have it on as someone already said.

Katy44 · 20/03/2007 13:08

gmm - was actually quite pleased with your explanation about ML pay! If I got all mine in one lump sum I would never be able to make it last (paying off debts would be my way of at least ensuring it was spent on something worthwhile!)

Katy44 · 20/03/2007 13:09

Pesha, sorry to hear you're still feeling sick

bubblez · 20/03/2007 13:21

ditto sorry that you are feeling sick pesha.... Is it a pregnancy sickness or a ill sickness?

Fanko · 20/03/2007 13:44

katy

this thread has links to newspaper articles accompanying the tv show about loads of children. it was started by the (estranged) daughter of one of the mothers.

octopussyintummy · 20/03/2007 13:45

I have to say this because its one of those things - if you're eating put your food down now...!

My fanjo feels like its had a good seeing to (but sadly not) and kind of engorged feeling - do you think its an infection or does anyone else have the same feeling? also because of spd feel like someone has kicked me in fanjo too. In fact I feel like it has already given birth to a 12lb baby and need one of those valley cushions to sit on! Also discharge has increased. Maybe I have an infection? I am seeing midwife tomorrow - she will check urine anyway.

I neeeeeeed biscuits

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 20/03/2007 13:50

Octo, I have been feeling heavy down there as well - as you say a feeling of being engorged. Also, my previous episiotomy scar makes me feel like I have been kicked in the arse as my weight increases - not pleasant. May be worth mentioning it to the mw - nothing to lose.

Fanko · 20/03/2007 13:55

me too octo
feels like i've been 'at it' for hours non-stop (i wish )

and the farmer giles are very annoying now, have switched to germaloid to see if that helps.

Fanko · 20/03/2007 13:56

does anyone (other than katy with her handbag!) have any red clarkes shoes that this polish could be useful for?

nuttygirl · 20/03/2007 14:01

Hello Octopussy

Pesha - sorry you're not feeling well.

Who said they get lube from work???? I thought it was you GMM but seeing as you work with mobile phone stuff I'm thinking that's a strange combination....must be my mushy brain.

Eca I thought she'd be here about 10 mins...does my DH need to be here...she never mentioned it. Oh I hate having strangers in my house....

nuttygirl · 20/03/2007 14:03

Fanko - nope, no red shoes here...at school we had a saying "red shoes, no pants"...have never worn red shoes since!!!

CaptainDippy · 20/03/2007 14:03

Feeling EXACTLY the same Octo - engorged, lots of discharge etc - so you're not alone, perfectly normal (felt the same with DD2) Don't you just LOVE pregnancy!? [ironic]

I'm feeling sick too Pesha - so lots sympathy too - have felt fairly sicky all the way through this pregnancy; bearable, but still not pleasant.

Are you still around katy?? About to email you about the luuuurvely sheepskin I have sitting next to me!!

Pains still going on - have pain all down the back of one leg too - All feeling v.odd. Hoping it isn't the beginning of anything as I'm only 35 weeks and want this bubba to cook a bit longer 1st....
