Congrulations @AGnu wonderful news... Glad all is well. I did the old wives tale of prediction with the wedding ring over the bump last night and to came up with girl over and over again so I'll know for sure in 10 days! Much love to all x

izzibee29 · 03/07/2017 21:39

@AGnu so exciting!! Huge congrats. It's lovely to hear everyone reaching this stage. My two prego mates are due end of Aug and Sept and they both start mat leave at the end of the month, felt a little sad that they are so far ahead of me but pleased I've got you ladies for company during in the last leg. Xx

Hazandduck · 04/07/2017 07:03

Ah congratulations @Agnu on your baby girl 💗
Has anyone else been bloody absorbed in the 'workzilla' thread?? I spent pretty much all day yesterday following the saga lol.

Hazandduck · 04/07/2017 07:05

@Izzi I have a couple of friends due in October and know what you mean. I also have a friend who is due twins at the end of November, but will probably end up having them before me (due 13th) which is already feeling a bit weird. X

lydiangel83 · 04/07/2017 10:18

I haven't got any preggo mates I wish I did have! Have told them to get on with it lol!

Hazandduck · 04/07/2017 11:42

Aw @lydia you have lots on here :)

theotherendofthesockportal · 04/07/2017 12:43

@lydiangel83 we are all your mates here! I've seen other threads where you good friendships have started from these ante-natal groups. I'm finding pregnancy quite a lonely experience and look forward to seeing what you ladies have been upto.

I have started to feel little sessions of movement- which I love. Although she seems to run away whenever I invite my husband to have a feel. I'm sure he will be very involved in a few weeks time when baby and movements get bigger.

lydiangel83 · 04/07/2017 12:46

Ah thank you @Hazandduck and @theotherendofthesockportal I do love the support from you guys :)

butterybollocks · 04/07/2017 18:00

I don't have any pregnant friends either. I did nct last time but wouldn't do it for a second baby, but I am a bit worried that I'll be a bit lonely once baby arrives Confused

It's great to have you all to talk to though!

theotherendofthesockportal · 04/07/2017 18:28

I've just bought myself this count the kicks bracelet. I feel like a festival goer wearing it lol!

None of my friends are currently pregnant, AFAIK. It's the first time I've got to this point in pregnancy & not known several people who were expecting about a similar time. One of my closest friends has recently had a baby, 2 have got DC who will be a year older than DD that feels weird to type instead of DS! & one friend has said she hopes to get pregnant this summer. No-one will be especially close though.

Zampa · 04/07/2017 20:23

Weirdly, I know 3 people who've had babies in the past 2 months, another 3 more give birth between now and September and then one more in February. All but 2 of them are local so I'll have some company on maternity leave.

butterybollocks · 04/07/2017 20:44

Oooo ladies...I've just spotted that the Jojo sale has just started! Lots of maternity clothes in the sale on their website (probably also lots of cute baby stuff but I haven't dared look at that yet!).

Topsyloulou · 04/07/2017 21:37

@butterybollocks thanks for the heads up. That's my lunch hour tomorrow sorted! The mothercare sale is on too. Bought three dresses for myself as they were all half price, a few newborn bits & some dinosaur sheets for DS. Only went in for newborn cotton hats!

Baby has been very active tonight, kicking away & much stronger kicks. I could actually see them. I put DS's hand where she was kicking so he could feel, not sure if he did or not but he was very interested.

I only have one pregnant friend at the moment, she's due the day after me but lives 2.5 hours away so won't really get to see her. Two of my NCT group will still be off work after their second DCs so hopefully will get to see a bit of them. We met up weekly when we were off before which was great. It's so helpful to have someone at the same stage as you & seeing what things have worked for them etc. I am a bit worried about not having regular contact like that again this time round but going to have a look at mummy social & maybe try a few more groups this time.

JCleRoux · 05/07/2017 10:37

Hi all,

Is everyone else also still suffering with constipation? I will admit that pribe juice is my go-to solution but I'm not very consistent and suffer greatly as a result. I find myself straining so hard that I am afraid I am undoing things I shouldn't be undoing Grin

Please tell me I'm not alone. I thought the constipation would be a thing of the past in the second trimester aka honeymoon period during pregnancy

theotherendofthesockportal · 05/07/2017 12:40

@JCleRoux I'm still constipated too. And I'm scared of straining as I'm scared of getting piles and irrationally scared of pushing the baby out.

Is 20 weeks nearly 21 weeks too early to be feeling movement every day? I felt quite a bit of wriggling since the week but not much today. Arrgghhh so much to worry about

GingerHanna · 05/07/2017 13:18

Roux Mine has mostly gone, but one way I did cope when it was here was to treat it like breathing practice for labour... 4 in, 7 out, open like a flower!

Sock Sorry, far too early to be getting regular movements just yet. I think it's 26-28 weeks when they start establishing themselves... roughly.

I've been ok this pregnancy but suffered from constipation badly in my first. The doctor prescribed Movicol and it was wonderful! Don't suffer in silence!

Motherhippy16 · 05/07/2017 19:23

Good evening all.... I've not felt anything really yet... 19 weeks tomorrow... that's ok right? Not even getting a bump really... getting tired of this not really feeling pregnant stage! I've got so many friends that are pregnant or have had their babies.... one a month this year so far! I'm the last one to have theirs and it's quite lonely.... the baby clothes I brought from blade and rose came today... They are so so gorgoeus and still 21 weeks till I can meet baby! X

Hazandduck · 05/07/2017 23:02

Oh god @JC I am with you!! The last few times I've been to the toilet I've been in sooo much pain, I'm scared to push but feel so uncomfortable I know I need to go!! A couple of times I've actually cut myself 😣😣 i eat so much bloody fruit as well including apricots and kiwi every day which are meant to help.

@Sock did they say if you had an anterior placenta at your 20wk scan? I think that can cushion movements too. But yes like @Ginger said it's not regular until later I don't think although I am the same if I have five minutes of feeling nothing lol, complete panic stations! The joys of motherhood already....worry, worry, worry!

Hazandduck · 05/07/2017 23:03

@Motherhippy it is hard when you are in between and you don't really feel pregnant! You will no doubt have loads of exhausting symptoms in a few weeks. Do you have one of those home dopplers to listen to the heartbeat? That may help your anxiety? X

Motherhippy16 · 06/07/2017 07:24

@hazandduck no i dont but it took a long time to find the heart beat at my 16 week I'm afraid that I wouldn't find it and that would make things worse. I had a horrible dream last night where I started bleeding lots and went to a drs (which was in the middle of a supermarket) and they found baby with a strong heartbeat and an in depth 3d scan. One week till my 20 week scan so fingers crossed I'm worrying over nothing. X

Hazandduck · 06/07/2017 08:07

I'm sure you are. It is just that annoying in between where symptoms drop off and you don't look 100% pregnant yet and you start to convince yourself maybe it's not real. I've had those dreams too, my midwife said they are really common and it is just the hormones.
Yes I've got a Doppler but I'm actually too scared to use it as I think it will make me worry more. I'm sure your midwife would let you pop in to listen at any time to the heartbeat, they would rather you go and see them for five minutes than get stressed x

GingerHanna · 06/07/2017 08:11

So, long post ahead as a result of my 20 week scan last night. (Held at 20+5).

  • Tumor has not grown (yay), is inside my uterus (boo), but is high up and out of the way so shouldn't cause complications (yay)
  • Still need to go to specialist in three weeks for further scan and analysis including discussion on next steps
  • Tumor is squishing baby down so he was very scrunched up and difficult to do the scan properly. I had to jump around, run up and down stairs etc but no difference. Coughing when I had a tickle in my throat made the biggest impact.
  • However, everything appears okay, but I have to go back next week for another scan to check two bits they couldn't see properly: 1. Is the lower spin enclosed - they think it is but want to be 100% sure 2. My placenta is at the back and down low - how close is it to my cervix? They don't think it's over it but just a few centimetres away so need to be sure.
  • He's definitely a boy!
  • Tummy is measuring big and I've been flagged by the hospital for a sugar test (which is unusual for them but given the tummy measurements the midwives say I'd probably need one anyway). Going to book this in for 27 weeks when I go back for blood tests to check iron levels.
  • The biggie - at 27 weeks I'm going to get another blood test done. To see if I'm producing antibodies as I've come up as Rhc negative. This is bad news. Unless the baby is also Rhc negative which I'm not sure we'll know until after birth. For now I need to make the hospital appointment and wait to find out more.

So it's all swings and roundabouts. Nothing actually wrong right now but some indicators that are causing concern and need looking into. The joy.
