Hello! Just got my bfp, would love to join up with others expecting next Feb.

My DD is 16 months, so we're expecting (almost exactly!) a 2yr age gap all being well. EDD 2nd Feb.

Hello ladies, please can I join? I'm 5w preggo today and have a DD 15m. EDD 17th Feb which will be 3 weeks before my Dad's 2nd birthday. Would have liked to have being pregnant earlier but still breastfeeding and that has slowed everything down. I hope you don't mind emwithme but I've copied and pasted the list with my stats on and a few of the other newbies who've just joined (sorry if I've missed anyone)

Welcome to all the new folks! Looks like Feb is going to be a big month Grin

Thanks for the list emwithme - very thorough.

I'm really struggling with sickness now - I have no appetite and am struggling to eat anything and keep it down. Am worried I will lose weight/not get enough nutrients. Anyone else feel the same?

Troika · 17/06/2017 13:59

Princess I can see Brean Down from my house! Currently watching an airshow out of my window whilst dd2 is asleep.

Congrats on the wedding Emily.

Lulu I am normally freezing in early pregnancy but so far not this time.

Hope everyone is doing ok

Troika · 17/06/2017 14:01

Eclecticmama that's almost exactly the same as me, my dd2 will be 2 at the end of feb

lookatthemoon Hey hun, are taking pregnancy supplements? I take the tescos pregnancy multivitamin + tablets (though I recently found out that wilkos do exactly the same tablets cheaper :O) and they're pretty effective at getting you all the little things you need. One of the main things you'll miss from them is calcium as it's too bulky to put in a tablet.

A good easy going snack for calcium and protein is almonds. Bagels also contain a good amount of calcium so if you can stand one of those plain or lightly toasted, they're good. Chia seeds have a ridiculous amount of protein in them if you can sprinkle them into something you're eating. If you can stomach cows milk when you're thirsty that's good for you though I drink almond milk myself, I like that it doesn't have a sour after taste.

Although I'm not feeling sick yet I am very aware of what I'm eating, trying to make sure it's all good stuff.

LulusForest · 17/06/2017 15:49

@GingerRogers84 I'm exactly the same! I've been feeling a bit worried because in the 9 days between conceiving and finding out I was pregnant I drank 3 glasses of wine on one occasion, ate Brie on two different occasions and drank waaay to much coffee every single day! Trying to make up for it now by cutting out caffeine completely, and really struggling...

@Troika, good to know it's not just me then!

@Eclecticmama thanks for changing my EDD Smile

I'm freaking out a bit at the moment because I just cleaned the bathroom and I don't normally wear gloves when cleaning the shower, so I just did it as usual. It was only afterwards that it occurred to me that the chemicals could get absorbed through my skin and might be harmful during pregnancy! I used the dettol mould and mildew remover and a regular bathroom cleaner. Also, the shower enclosure itself isn't very well ventilated so I'm worried about breathing the fumes in too. Think I will be getting DH to do all the cleaning from now on...

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 17/06/2017 16:08

@Lulus - You'll be absolutely fine. That early in your pregnancy it's highly unlikely any damage will have been done, but obviously don't drink now you know (along with not smoking or taking drugs, and making sure you take folic acid etc and all the other stuff you'll already know!).

As for the chemicals, I'm sure you'll be ok, but definitely get DH to do all the chemical-related chores now (hell, just get him to do all the chores full stop Grin).

Emwahs · 17/06/2017 16:12

@emwithme my due date subject to the dating scan is 2nd Feb

@lulusforest I was the same but it doesn't seem to have done any harm. The only reason your it allowed soft unpasteurised cheeses is because there is s higher chance of food poisoning. Hard this time of year with BBQ season kicking in.

Today has be roasting here not really helping the really low energy levels. Off out to see a show tonight and obviously I am duty driver but I am so tired not sure it's a good idea.

Still getting worried about reducing symptoms my boobs are not as tender to touch but really painful when I wake up in the mornings and turn over so hoping that's normal. Also had a reduction in feelin sick as I am only 7 weeks anyone else feeling the same? Or am I just getting used to it?

GingerRogers84 · 17/06/2017 18:02

@LulusForest I'd also had a few drinks leading up to finding out! 😳
I thought I was out that month and I'd finished my degree so had three rather heavy end of uni sessions! 😑 Considering I'm 33 I should probably have know better! 😂😂😂
So I'm like you in trying to make up for it now!

LulusForest · 17/06/2017 18:53

@GingerRogers84 congrats on your degree! I should have known better too as were TTC, but I had really long and irregular cycles which are sometimes anovulatory so I had kind of given up on that cycle by about day 60! I just keep telling myself there must be millions of women who do all the things they're not supposed to before knowing, and have perfectly healthy babies.

SofiePendragon · 17/06/2017 19:03

Hello newbies!

Thanks Em and eclectic for the list

I also had a few drinks before my bfp as I was convinced I was out that month. I'm not worried about it. The book "expecting better" is quite good for perspective on this sort of thing and basically, having got this far, it won't have done any significant harm.

look I really wouldn't worry - I struggled to eat in the first trimester with my daughter, couldn't even manage to take vitamins and lost a significant amount of weight. My daughter was fine. Just do what you can and remember the baby is like a parasite at this stage and will take what it needs from the mother, so you will suffer from the lack of nutrition way before the baby does.

GingerRogers84 · 17/06/2017 19:07

@LulusForest thank you! ☺️

My brothers girlfriend was 5 months before she realized she was pregnant (I don't know the fine details there) and she was less than saintly before she found out. I now have a strapping and bright nephew! 👌🏻

pretzelpieces · 17/06/2017 23:05

Welcome and congratulations to the new bfps!

Thanks em for the list and thanks eclectic for updating my EDD. I'm also breastfeeding, and DD will be turning 2 right by my due date!

Early scan is booked for Tuesday and now I've got the nerves. I'd rather know sooner than later if I haven't got this far though. I'm feeling sick everyday so I'm taking that as a hopeful sign.

It's too bloody hot here and I'm not coping well with the weather! Hard to sleep, and it's making me feel even woozier!

lookatthemoon · 17/06/2017 23:13

Thanks for the reassurance Loxy and Sofie! Interesting I never knew Bagels had calcium ...

Emwahs - I had a minor meltdown a couple of days ago when I was certain my symptoms were reducing but they came back with gusto. Try not to worry, pretty normal for them to fluctuate I think. Am also 7 wks.

EmilyK83 · 18/06/2017 07:41

Awww pretzel I bet you can't wait till Tues!!

5+4 and I'm just lumbered with sore boobs and constipation, and feel super attractive as a result, haha!

Looking forward to tomorrow morning when I have my pre-booking in appointment with other local first time mums to be!

choochooo · 18/06/2017 09:32

Still no symptoms. I'm so glum :(

lookatthemoon · 18/06/2017 09:43

How far along are you Choo? With DS I had almost no symptoms until after about 7 weeks.

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 18/06/2017 09:51

Choo - I also have no symptoms. I'm only 4+1 so that's to be expected, but still feel a little nervous. How far along are you?

choochooo · 18/06/2017 10:33

I'm just panicking. The one I lost in April I had virtually no symptoms and had a mmc. I'm already past the point of the other two mc this year so I'm feeling like that's a positive milestone.

With my son I had virtually no symptoms until 7-8 weeks then the sickness hit.

Just need to hold my nerve.

Pretzel how far along will you be at scan? Gx for it. Sickness is a great sign.

Has anyone else had to fill in a form to book in with midwife? It's apparently new as I didn't have to do it when I booked in in march. I've got to go to the surgery to pick up a form to then have them call me with appointment. I wouldn't mind but it's only open 9-5, I don't live nearby and I work f/t plus have a toddler. I wish it was possible to download the form or fill it in online. I'll go tomorrow in my lunch break.

Anyone with children already doing anything nice for Father's Day? We are going for a picnic and then getting the paddling pool out.

choochooo · 18/06/2017 10:34

Forgot to answer question sorry!!! I think I'm 4+2 but could be slightly off as my cycles have been irregular since the mmc

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 18/06/2017 10:45

Oh bless you Choo. I think it's natural to feel anxious after a miscarriage, and certainly after a few. It's a good sign that you're already further along than two of them though...and it's totally normal to not feel anything yet. I was the same as you with DS (had no symptoms at all, then from about week 7-10 felt like death!). I used to get so worried as people would always say that early sickness was a good sign, so I'd panic that the lack of sickness/symptoms was a bad sign! Pregnancy is such a stressful time Grin.

lookatthemoon · 18/06/2017 11:02

Oh Choo - I know how that feels. I hope times passes very quickly for you. And that you get nailed by some symptoms soon ☺️

TriJo · 18/06/2017 14:49

So so tired - my DS isn't coping well with the heat so he's being a cranky bugger and refusing to nap unless he's somewhere with air con. I could really do with a long nap but what can ya do?

This is going to be a fun summer and the train to work tomorrow is going to be the seventh circle of hell...

choochooo · 18/06/2017 15:28

Thanks guys :)

Tri I've got mine stripped down to nappy, water table and paddling pool out on the patio in the shade. One tip I was given is to open windows up to 12pm to let the warm air put then close them and blinds/curtains to keep it cool. We have him in a 0.5 bag too which helps
