Hello! Just got my bfp, would love to join up with others expecting next Feb.

My DD is 16 months, so we're expecting (almost exactly!) a 2yr age gap all being well. EDD 2nd Feb.

Tentatively joining the thread. I'm 4 weeks today and due 24th Feb (although would need to be a planned CS, but that's way down the line!!).

DS is only 8 months old and after a battle to conceive him, I can't really believe it has happened so quickly this time round. Feel a bit like it will all come crashing down, but am trying to live in the moment and just be grateful that (for the time being at least) I am pregnant SmileSmileSmile.

UnglamorousMum · 17/06/2017 07:50

Welcome @CoffeeAndCupcakes85 @Princessk29 Smile

GingerRogers84 · 17/06/2017 08:37

@emwithme you missed me off your list. ☺️ but then again I've not had any dates confirmed yet. ☺️
I've got a bit of a chest cold at the moment, normally I'd down a lemsip etc! 😭 I'm a bit scared of taking anything.

Princessk29 · 17/06/2017 08:39

@emilyk83 I'm very jealous! Just returned from a visit to brean / Somerset and would love to move there x

Thanks for the well wishes everyone x

Melody85 · 17/06/2017 08:51

@emwithme please can you add me to your list too EDD is 2nd Feb x

Alicantine · 17/06/2017 09:20

@emwithme thanks for the list that's great

@pretzelpieces you made me laugh how you started the February 2018 thread then went "I'm a fraud" cos you're due end of Jan!!! Don't worry you're still welcome in your own thread ;-)

@RainyDayBear wow I'm glad you managed to share the news at your school and it went well. I still won't say anything at mine.... Hope they won't be angry with me for that comes September. I still think it's very early days for me to tell. Probably cos I miscarried at 12weeks once.

Am I the only one not going for a private early scan then? Although I obviously love the idea of seeing a real "bean" inside, I really don't like the fact that they're not proper health professionals and that they're businesses doing it for money. I'm not doubting anything they say just I wouldn't naturally go to these people for a check.

I still don't have any strong symptoms... At least I guess I'm not having twins then! Lol. Yesterday I kept going to the loo,it was ridiculous. That's one thing I can add as a symptom. And the tiredness. I turned 6 weeks yesterday so @gingerrogers84 maybe mine will escalate too from there like it did for you ?!

Wishing a good day to all the Pregnant ladies in here :)

Blissfulignorance · 17/06/2017 09:24

@Alicantine I won't be having an early one. If DH isn't happy it won't happen. I go from wanting one to happy to wait til 12 weeks.

Woke up tired again. It's already ridiculously hot where I live. I may struggle today.

Hope everyone else is feeling well.

EmilyK83 · 17/06/2017 09:48

Aww Princess the beach in Brean is amazing!! I love it over here!

Alicantine I'm not either. Still got an irrational fear that things won't work out so am going to carry on waiting (time is going so slowly...) and see what happens.

Off to a BBQ today at a friend's house, need to think of an excuse as to why I'm doing my homemade burgers well cooked instead of medium like I normally do, haha!

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 17/06/2017 09:53

Thanks for the welcome @Unglamorousmum Smile.

If we make it to 7 weeks we'll definitely have an early viability scan. It's quite pricey (£89) but I'd rather spend the money and know whether the pregnancy is viable Smile. Of course it only gives comfort for a little while, but if something is wrong from the start I'd rather know sooner rather than later.

Good luck to those of you a few weeks ahead who are having scans soon x

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 17/06/2017 09:55

P.S. I've got a few weddings and hen parties in July. May have to be upfront with a few people about why I can't drink!

EmilyK83 · 17/06/2017 10:21

Coffee you could go down the "I'm on antibiotics" route, or make sure you're the designated driver? Wink

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 17/06/2017 10:43

Ha ha Emily Grin. Sadly most of my friends are doctors so they'll spot it a mile off if I say I'm on antibiotics (there are only a few antibiotics where you really can't drink). I'm going to be upfront with close friends as I'd tell them if this ends in a miscarriage. For others, I'll just say I'm training for a race so have stopped drinking until that's done (I'm supposed to be doing the Great North Run in September so they'll buy that!). TBH I doubt people will question it if I don't drink.

We should come up Mumsnet list of plausible excuses Grin!

MrsPicklesonSmythe · 17/06/2017 10:46

Hi all, newbie here I'm due 14th Feb so 5+4. My third but never had any sickness etc before. Since 6pm yesterday I've been going to the toilet every 5-10 mins and feeling really nauseous but not actually sick. Is this normal?
I have big age gaps between my kids but don't remember anything like this before.

EmilyK83 · 17/06/2017 10:49

Hey MrsPickleson - congrats! Ooh same EDD as me! I've not had that yet, stomach's not been feeling right but I've not been feeling sick, definitely weeing more than normal though...

Haha Coffee the training definitely works as an excuse!! And a list of plausible excuses sounds like a good plan! Grin

For me it's the fact that I'm getting married in 11 weeks and already have my dress, so doing everything I can to make sure it still fits on the big day... Wink

DaisyLou85 · 17/06/2017 10:52

Hi all I got a positive this morning. Not sure exactly how far on I am as wasn't supposed to be trying this month as had a miscarriage in April and chemical in May. Congrats to all x

February 2018 Babies!
CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 17/06/2017 10:55

Hi Pickles. Congratulations! From what I understand, everything and nothing is normal during pregnancy and the same woman can have very different experiences each time. Try not to worry too much. Easier said than done, I know. FWIW I felt really nauseous for a few weeks with DS but was never actually sick.

Awww congratulations on the upcoming wedding Emily. That's definitely a good excuse!!!

Humpertydumpty · 17/06/2017 11:02

Hi,

Can I join? I did IVF and got a BFP on Weds, so due 20th Feb. It was a real shock as I tested all last weekend and got nothing. I was eyeing up the prosecco so thought I'd better do one last test. Every other BFP has been by 5 days after transfer so I thought for sure I was out.

I had a blighted ovum last Oct after IVF and a MMC at 10 weeks in 2011 after FET (with ex-husband) so I'm incredibly nervous about the scan. I'll get one in about 3 weeks with the IVF clinic.

broodynmoody · 17/06/2017 11:10

Hi ladies Smilecan I butt in?

Im due February 13th after my first round of IVF. Im 5 weeks 4 days, I will be getting am early scan at around 8 weeks to see if there's anything there. Fingers crossed!

Alicantine · 17/06/2017 11:17

@MrsPicklesonSmythe welcome. Yes what you describe seems normal. And @coffeeandcupcakes85 (oh and welcome by the way!) is entirely right. "Normal" would vary from woman to woman and even from pregnancy to pregnancy for the same woman. It's not as if your previous pregnancies were a blueprint for your next ones, although if you have recurring conditions that occur within a pregnancy it might help to know (like for example I have had SPD with each of my five children, towards the end of the pregnancy).
You were saying there's gonna be a big age gap between your kids: how many years? My eldest is 14 and I'm not sure how she'll feel having a sibling that young....

@daisylou85 and @humpertydumpty : welcome. Humperty sorry to hear about your previous issues hopefully this one will stick

GingerRogers84 · 17/06/2017 11:40

You ladies are all so clued up! ☺️ I feel a bit un-knowledgeable at the moment. Have purchased a copy of What To Expect and will have to do some boning up on the subject! 😂

@Alicantine there's a 24 year age gap between me and my younger sister. There's also nine of us so it wasn't a massive shock! 😂 love being part of a big family! Bless her though as she's going to be an Aunty at the age of 9! 😂

CoffeeAndCupcakes85 · 17/06/2017 11:55

Ginger - pregnancy is a long time so you'll have lots of time to swot up! You'll be an expert in no time.

Welcome everyone else! Humperty - I am so sorry you have had such a miserable time with your previous IVF cycles. I really hope that you get a break and this one works out for you. I imagine you'll be very nervous during the wait for your scan, so I hope time somehow magically speeds up! Good luck as well with your scan Broody x

choochooo · 17/06/2017 12:04

Hello everyone! Welcome to all the newbies and congratulations!

I would recommend the Pregnancy Day by Day book to anyone having their first - I found it really interesting and it was fun to follow the progress through the pregnancy.

This time I'll just be bloody grateful to get to 12 weeks! I'm on pregnancy 3 this year (not including the CP in Jan) and I'm just not excited because I won't believe I'm having an actual baby til 12 weeks. Holding hands here of anyone else feeling like this. It's not fun. Hopefully we will bring each other luck.

BabyCentre app is also fun to follow and you can compare the daft fruit or veg sizes later on 😂

I remember being 2 weeks over with my son and it telling me he was the size of a pumpkin. That didn't exactly fill me with confidence but it was quite funny!

No symptoms really yet - bit of nausea, some stretching cramps and tingly boobs. Normally I get pregnancy rhinitis but I don't have it yet. I'll be delighted if it doesn't turn up!!!!

LulusForest · 17/06/2017 13:23

Hi everyone! Welcome to all the newbies, and hope you feel better soon to those who are feeling/being sick.

Thanks for the list @emwithme! Can you change my EDD to the 22nd please? After looking at my temps again I think that would be my due date based on my most likely ovulation date. I'm sure it will change once I get my scan though!

@GingerRogers84 I also feel a bit clueless at the moment. Is this your first? It's so nice to have all the others on the thread who have been through this before to reassure us about what's normals (which is anything and everything, it seems!).

I have had less cramping over the last couple of days, but have been feeling SO COLD! I normally feel the cold a lot and had been looking forward to feeling a bit warmer during pregnancy as I had heard that most people do. So not sure what's going on there!

EmilyK83 · 17/06/2017 13:45

Lulus it's the opposite for me, was boiling last night!

*Choo" I have that on the app I'm using at the moment, currently a black peppercorn Smile. It's so interesting seeing just how much develops even in the really early stages!

GingerRogers84 · 17/06/2017 13:46

@LulusForest
It is indeed my first! ☺️
Before I got pregnant I thought I'd be all chilled about pregnancy and now I'm looking up caffeine allowances, can I eat this and all sorts! 😂😂

It's also great to have this group as I'm sure I'm sending my husband crazy with all the talk! 😂
