Hello! Just got my bfp, would love to join up with others expecting next Feb.

My DD is 16 months, so we're expecting (almost exactly!) a 2yr age gap all being well. EDD 2nd Feb.

Thank you look and it's appreciated. At least I don't have any cramps or anything else at the moment. X

Alicantine · 12/06/2017 23:01

@VocalCat oh no. Hopefully it's not what we fear

@conkerchops and others: which appointment are you talking about? The midwife's or gp's? I'mtalking about the gp one. That's the one I'm having tomorrow which I assumed was only a pure referral thing! My long appointments the way you describe them have only ever been with midwives not the gp! I'm confused now as I've only timetabled 15min for tomorrow's appointment so I might need to reset my afternoon if the GP's appointment is now the one where you talk about previous history etc!

Also which pink file? Lool that makes me laugh as my pregnancy notes have only ever been green? Am I that old? Youngest baby is 6 now but has the colour changed or what? Or does the colour depend on where you live? I'm attaching a pic of my latest notes. These were for one of my mc unfortunately. But that was in 2014 so not that long ago....

@RainyDayBear I can empathise with announcing so soon that you'll leave on maternity. Any reason why you brought your ttc earlier? I also wish I had a summer baby as I'm quite anxious for my year 11s but....at the end of the day I haven't been taking any contraception since my last mc in 2015 and I'm only getting pregnant now so the truth is really I didn't have the luxury to choose......

I thought the colour depended on your area...maybe I'm wrong? I'm
Hampshire so my notes are blue. X

VocalCat · 13/06/2017 06:47

Thanks Alicantine. I am sure your GP appointment will only be a few mins as it is always midwives who do booking in. Your file colour depends upon your hospital I think, as I was offered the choice of half a dozen last time and they were all different colours.

More blood this morning and I'm no longer feeling good about this pregnancy. Going to head to my local supermarket for some sanitary towels once DH is awake and it is open. Sad

tailspin · 13/06/2017 07:05

So nauseous first thing in the morning and it seems to be getting worse every day Envy does anyone have any coping tips? Salty crackers and ginger ale is what I have at the moment but I hate drinking sweet drinks and the thought of ginger ale is setting me off right now!!!

RainyDayBear · 13/06/2017 07:15

@Alicantine we didn't! My BFP was an enormous shock, though we've both come round to the idea very quickly.

@VocalCat Crossing fingers, maybe ring the EPU and get checked out?

Whoever was saying about their previous c section scar aching, I have woken up with that this morning too!

Emwahs · 13/06/2017 07:48

@vocalcat hope your feeling ok must be a really worrying time for you have all my fingers and toes crossed!

@tailspin I feel your pain! Was actually sick in a doggy bag on Sunday! Not my finest moment! It's always at a peak in the morning but it's constantly there which is driving me crazy, I do also find ginger biscuits help and eating little often as soon as I get hungry I feel even worse! I have to drive four hours to pick up a new car this morning! Dreading it! Hope yours gets better soon.

EmilyK83 · 13/06/2017 07:50

Hope all's ok Vocal :(

Would love to join this thread please...5 weeks pregnant with my first, EDD Valentine's Day next year! No idea what to expect, and I'm a born worrier...

Only symptoms at the moment are a feeling like trapped wind, and that feeling you get when you're constipated, but I'm not. Getting married in September as well...we were trying, but wasn't expecting to catch first month after implant removal! Playing it VERY cautiously for now...

Toomanydogs · 13/06/2017 08:57

@Vocal everything crossed for you hope it's all okay.
@Tailspin I'm coping with ginger biscuits, salted tortilla chips and ginger & lemon tea one of my close friends gave me when I told her how bad the nausea is! Had to cancel an appt today though as it would have been over 3 hours driving and no way I can face that at the moment.

lookatthemoon · 13/06/2017 09:25

Tailspin - i'm surviving on sparkling water, hummus and brown bread.

Toomany -I would do anything for some proper salted tortilla chips right now. We are living in Asia at the moment and I am really missing some home comforts (read: junk food).

My nausea is pretty much all day long. It comes in waves but is way worse this time than any other pregnancy and has arrived two weeks earlier Sad

Vocal - thinking of you Flowers

Toomanydogs · 13/06/2017 09:52

@lookatthemoon mine is the same! Before the weekend it was a constant fairly sick feeling, now it hits me in waves and it's all day! Junk food is my saviour!

conkerchops · 13/06/2017 10:37

Ah I meant the midwife booking in - didn't eve see gp - just had five min chat on the phone - so fifteen mins should be bang on!
I woke up feeling v sick this am and everything tastes of soap! Then has gone back to the heart burn!
@vocal - could you go to your EPU - sending you huge hugs xxxx
Yes note colour depends on hospital - in our area you can be a pink or green person!

Alicantine · 13/06/2017 10:46

@VocalCat thinking of you today, even from work Flowers. Hope it goes well....

Ok now I get it thanks everyone for the clarification on appointments and colours of notes!

@emilyk83 welcome :)

conkerchops · 13/06/2017 10:54

Well the 26th-28th july - obvs we don't want anything on day if the scan if we get that far

conkerchops · 13/06/2017 10:54

Whoops that was a whatsapp to my husband! Re moving dates! Sorry!

RainyDayBear · 13/06/2017 12:13

Not the greatest morning here, had stomach pains while I was in town with DD so came home, and it seems to be a mild UTI. GPs have fitted me in this afternoon at least!

Felt a bit queasy this morning too, but it passed thankfully.

EmilyK83 · 13/06/2017 12:37

Aww feel better soon Rainy - good you got an appointment so quickly!

Saltandpepperpig · 13/06/2017 12:54

Congratulations to all the newbies! And sorry to hear of the issues some people are having.

I'm at the airport about to go on a two week long business trip to Japan and absolutely terrified that something will go wrong while I'm there or on the plane - knicker watching the whole flight I think!!

Doesn't help that my new drs makes you see the gp before the midwife and had my appointment yesterday, he was 30 mins late and I ended up having to go straight from work due to an accident causing delays meaning I didn't even see my DD before bed on my last night before going.

My dr just said 'ok that's great you're pregnant are you taking folic acid? Yes? Great. Go to reception and book in with the midwife' argghhh

This baby is already making me crazy I am
Massively moody and cried on the toilet for half an hour yesterday! Shock

Has anyone got stats up yet? I'm 6 weeks 1 day. EDD 4th Feb.

Here's to lovely boring uneventful pregnancies for all of us!!

Sanchezwasntdirty · 13/06/2017 18:26

I had my booking appointment this morning, lots of questions, no taken and a blood test. I'm low risk apparently (yay!) just waiting for my scab date to come through the post. I also have to register with my local GP, I wanted all my records to be at my current address so any letters would be sent here rather than DMs house but my old gp doesn't cover this area Sad. I've been told by the midwife I have to tell them at my scans about my brother having clicky hips as a baby so they can check the hip development at scans. DP went promptly into work and told everyone were expecting then called to check it was ok to tell people... bit late now! I've asked him to make sure people don't put anything on social media as I don't want the world knowing yet and certainly not anyone from my work. He's such an idiot sometimes Confused

Emwahs · 13/06/2017 20:49

It's odd how different areas have different processes, all I had to do was fill in a form at the doctors. The midwife called me today to make a booking appointment but I missed the call so will give her a call tomorrow.

I managed to cope with the drive to pick up my new car today. Took a total of nine hours so now it's feet up on couch! Hope everyone is doing ok!

BabyButton2 · 13/06/2017 20:55

@vacal

BabyButton2 · 13/06/2017 21:02

@VocalCat & @RainyDayBear hope you are both ok. Xx

@tailspin have you tried the sea sickness wrist bands? Or you can get dissolvable tablets that go on your gums...that's what my doctor tried me with right at the start. Hope you're ok x

Congratulations ❤️ to all the new mummies x

LulusForest · 13/06/2017 21:24

Hi everyone! I'd like to join this group please. Got my BFP on Saturday and will be due sometime around the 20th Feb.

I have crazy long/irregular cycles and my last period was 1st April, so a bit of guesswork around my due date at the moment! I was half-heartedly tracking my temperature though, so I roughly know when I conceived. To be honest I had kind of given up hope of ovulating by that point in my cycle so although we were definitely trying, this was still a huge surprise!

This is my first pregnancy so no idea what to expect really. Just hoping to make it through these first few weeks ok. Hope everyone is doing well!

Blissfulignorance · 13/06/2017 21:30

Welcome newbies
Thinking of you vocal and rainy

I feel like I've reached a milestone today, I'm now 6 weeks. I've know for 2 weeks which honestly have felt like the longest ever!

Nausea left me today, I've felt pretty well but exceptionally tired.

A friend recently had a baby so I've been having new born snuggles which make me want to grow my pea faster!
