Hello! Just got my bfp, would love to join up with others expecting next Feb.

My DD is 16 months, so we're expecting (almost exactly!) a 2yr age gap all being well. EDD 2nd Feb.

Sorry to hear your news Mrsfrank :-( x

pretzelpieces · 11/06/2017 21:38

mrsf I'm so sorry SadFlowers

em I hope you get well soon. I had so many colds last time thanks to useless pregnant immune system.

I'm just taking folic acid and vit d (and the occasional calcium tablet because I have to be dairy free at the moment). I'm on a high dose of folic acid (5mg) because my dad had a cleft palate.

Congratulations and welcome to the latest joinees.

I'm 6.5 weeks today. Time is standing still. ⌚

So sorry MrsFrank.

I'm have a headache, am feeling really tired and have a very dry mouth. Luckily no sickness but I'm still worrying about everything being ok.

conkerchops · 11/06/2017 23:04

So v sorry @mrsfrank - sending you love - take v v good care of yourself Flowers
I took dh to the booking this time as I was so worried it would be the midwife that rang me
Not knowing I'd had the miscarriage last time - thankfully wasn't - but I think dh found it helpful to attend even though appt took an
Hour!
We will have consultant led care and he will come to all of those appts with me all being well and we get that far !
Despite the fact that I work in a hospital I have v v bad hospital phobia and definitely cope better with appts when he is there!
Am wondering how I can disguise
Not drinking on a night out and wedding next weekend - I didn't drink at a curry night on Friday and apparently it was remarked upon! I am not ready to tell the big wide world yet - what can I do?

BabyButton2 · 11/06/2017 23:24

Hi.
I'm new to the group. I've recently found out I'm expecting No.2 due 10th Feb. We already have a little boy who's 2 1/2.
Congratulations to all of you.
I hope everyone is feeling ok. I haven't read through all the thread yet.
I am praying this time for a smooth pregnancy as I had HG from 5wks to the end last time.
X

Welcome to all the newbies. 😁

So so sorry to hear MrsFrank 💐💐 Try to be kind to yourself this week, maybe some bubble baths and nice treats.

So very sorry Mrs Frank - sending hugs FlowersFlowers

Conker - Here are my no alcohol strategies:

  1. 'Have' a UTI and require antibiotics. Nobody wants to talk about UTIs so generally safe and I find I can get 2 weeks out of it.
  1. Be the designated driver. Used this for a wedding last pregnancy - granted it was on Sunday night so also had the 'work in the morning' excuse.
  1. Get there before others and have diet coke in your hand and just tell people it is a vodka and diet coke. Obvs easier to fake spirits than wine.
  1. Get hubby not to drink/drink very little and make it look like u are both on some sort of health buzz.
VocalCat · 12/06/2017 07:42

Conker just get a glass of wine to hold and keep putting it down places and leaving it or get your husband to drink it and then replace with another glass.

Sanchezwasntdirty · 12/06/2017 08:18

MrsF sending hugs your way Flowers

I've got my booking appointment tomorrow DP is coming he's so nervous bless him... (sorry for the tmi I'm about to share) I bought some pantyliners because of increased discharge, he thought I'd lost it and af had come, he looked heart broken for a second before I'd told him what they were for Blush. I keep having wobbling moments of 'oh shit what am I doing?! I can't do this etc' please someone tell me I'm not the only one!

limomo82 · 12/06/2017 09:48

On knicker watch. Tested positive ten days ago. I am just over five weeks but all symptoms except sore nipples have disappeared and I'm having the worst cramps. Hopefully I'm overthinking it, I hate these few months of waiting it out.

Alicantine · 12/06/2017 10:09

@limomo82 Welcome. Hopefully it is just overthinking , do update us :). Also you say you hate those first few months of waiting so...this isn't your first?

@mrsfrankturner so sorry to hear this please take care of yourself Flowers

@babybutton2 welcome and I hope you have a smooth pregnancy too, what is HG? Oh and we have the same due date :)

@pretzelpieces thanks for sharing your vitamins. I did not know about getting more folic acid for cleft palate history in the family, that's interesting.

@Vocalcat congrats on the dry mouth sore nipples and headache lol. I know you'd "prefer" stronger symptoms but we'll settle for any symptom at that stage. Me only the sore nipples, everything else is normal....

Hope everyone is ok. I finally managed to get a GP appointment for tomorrow afternoon. She should then refer me to a midwife I guess... My first official step and already I feel awkward for making it look more real! Have not told a soul yet apart from hubby. I'm 5 wks+3.

limomo82 · 12/06/2017 10:12

Thanks Alicantine. I posted a few pages back but no not my first. I have a DS aged 3. DDate will be around 10th Feb.

VocalCat · 12/06/2017 10:36

I'm on knicker watch as well and seem to recall increased discharge throughout last time. My nipples are fine though (the only pregnancy I have ever had any breast tenderness was a mmc, so I am quite glad they are fine) and I'm now worrying my dry mouth is to do with a change of medication (one safer for pregnancy) than a symptom. I do like to worry though and need to step away from google! I am definitely very tired though (although I blame my toddler and baby tag teaming me for part of that).

Hope things are ok limo. These early days are horrible.

RainyDayBear · 12/06/2017 12:19

Last time I had to go to a hen do just after I'd found out - I wasn't even four weeks! I faked a stomach bug, got a coke and told people it was vodka and coke, then went home early as I still wasn't 'feeling well' - got a lift home with a friend who 'drove because she was working early the next day' (turned out she was pregnant too and due the month before me!).

Totally on knicker watch here, the early weeks are so hard. I caved and did a leftover FRER this morning, test line is slightly darker than the control line now so I'm happy with that, but it's still early days at 4w4d here. DP doesn't get why I'm so obsessed with testing, but it's hard not to want some clue about what your body is doing!

RainyDayBear · 12/06/2017 12:22

limo Hope it's nothing, I remember having cramps so awful I was lying on the bathroom floor last time in the early weeks and was positive I was miscarrying - somehow it was absolutely nothing. Crossing fingers for you!

VocalCat · 12/06/2017 13:16

I don't have any cramps at all but I have just had blood when I wiped just now. This afternoon is going to be an unpleasantly anxious one now.

Blissfulignorance · 12/06/2017 14:30

Thinking of you both limo and vocal. Fingers crossed it's nothing.

Melody85 · 12/06/2017 14:34

Really hope everything is ok limo and vocal.
I had to call in sick today as felt terrible this morning, dragged myself out of bed just now and have been sick everywhere in my kitchen. I feel so so terrible, has anyone else started actually being sick yet? I honestly have no idea how I'm going to be able to function at work feeling like this, it's horrible 😔

Blissfulignorance · 12/06/2017 14:44

Just the feeling so far melody how many weeks are you?
