Thanks Carlotta. It's tough! I've had the two early scans but still nervous something will be wrong when we get our next one this week. Got a lot of pressure on with various things outside of work at the moment and think I'm feeling the strain a little.

CarlottaJo · 30/05/2017 13:59

I'm exactly the same @Mrsbluebell17 unfortunately OH has taken the brunt today :( think he's sick of me x

Bisquick · 30/05/2017 14:57

Feeling so very nervous about Thursday. Had a blood test Friday before last and was told I'd get the results in a couple of days, but now it's been over a week. So nervous about that as well but have already chased once and don't want to be annoying.

Lixon · 30/05/2017 15:09

Also returning after a bank holiday/wedding break on the coast - I've been periodically checking in but always surprised how long it takes to get through the updates 😃

Bridesmaiding went well, dress still fit and even found another secretly pregnant friend to drink appletise and sit out most of the dancing with! We have our NHS 12 w scan on Thursday and then results of NIPT/private 12 week scan on Friday - very nervous as with all my scan date twins (waves) but holiday has proved a nice distraction.

I hope you had a lovely holiday southy and good luck with Friday's scan!

Sorry to hear about rubbish MILs Zabe and Bisquick, that must make everything so much harder.

Lovely news on your rescan doctordonna - that must be such a relief/nice to have your anniversary as EDD!

I hope the sickness dies down soon peachi..

Lixon · 30/05/2017 15:11

Oh Bisquick, just seen your update. I know how you feel but if your hospital is anything like mine the path department wears horribly affected by the cyber attacks and was out of action for a week leading to a massive backlog. Have you tried chasing up?

Lixon · 30/05/2017 15:13

Sorry pregnancy brain, reading again yes hou have chased but I would do so again if they indicated you ought to have heard within a few days when you spoke to them?

Brens13 · 30/05/2017 15:15

Just got to the birth centre for my appointment with midwife.... Who is off sick so another "staff member" will see me but I might have to wait. Seems my midwife isn't only MIA when it comes to answering phone calls! Hope she gets better soon, blah blah blah, but was hoping she'd give me some reassurance today that I shouldn't ask to swap... Not sure what to do now! And I hope "staff member" isnt as ominous as it sounds lol. Being pregnant is so stressful. Budge over worry bench buddies!

Bisquick · 30/05/2017 15:21

Just feeling a bit uncomfortable chasing again - I know it's been a long weekend, and I'm sure they have more pressing things to deal with as well. It's a private lab, so not affected by NHS cyber attacks I think. Just whinging on here so that I'm not that annoying person constantly chasing the receptionist. Ah well!

Good luck with your appointment Brens!
And glad you had a fun time at the wedding Lixon!

Brens13 · 30/05/2017 15:33

Thanks bisquick. I hope you get your results soon too. I hate waiting for anything!

Carley27 · 30/05/2017 15:49

Hope you're not waiting too much longer Bisquick

Glad you had a good time at the wedding Lixon and good luck for Thursday and Friday!

Oh Brens you're not having much luck with your MW! Hope you appointment goes well, I'm sure 'staff member' will be fine :)

CarlottaJo · 30/05/2017 16:15

@Bisquick I would definitely chase, you've paid for this service and they should have gotten back to you within their specified time. Hope you get results today

@Brens13 hope you have a successful appointment

Xx

Brens13 · 30/05/2017 17:13

The stand-in midwife is lovely, I wish she was mine!! But all gone ok thank you. Exciting to get your notes, feels official then lol. Now just to wait a couple of weeks for the scan. Can't wait to see everyone's pics this week. I love this group and the support, it's very helpful x

CarlottaJo · 30/05/2017 17:34

@Brens13 ask if you can swap to her? Is she a community midwife with a caseload? If so you should be able to x

Brens13 · 30/05/2017 17:42

She's unfortunately in a slightly different geographical area than mine so I'm not sure if I could. It's literally 2 next door (very small) towns that they each cover. I will consider it tho I think. Thank you x

Oysterbabe · 30/05/2017 17:45

Definitely chase Bisquick

Feeling reassuringly sick this afternoon but really just need my scan to happen. 9 more days.

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 30/05/2017 18:35

Great news @DoctorDonnaNoble!

Good luck to everyone with upcoming scans and family news-breaking !

CarlottaJo · 30/05/2017 20:02

@Brens13 if you would have your appts at her clinics it should be absolutely fine, you have the right to change/choose Smile x

Zaberwocky · 30/05/2017 20:34

OH! I knew I forgot to tell you lovely lot something.

I've fallen slightly in love with my friends new mothercare pram. It's called journey I think? It's replaced her icandy peach which apparently broke every few months which I was shocked to hear! Anyway, it looks bloody similar, and feels lovely and she may have saved me £££ Grin the joy of rear facing and world facing for less! I think she said it was £300-ish.

Now I can spend more money on Christmas costumes Grin

Mrsbluebell17 · 30/05/2017 20:41

Evening all. Sounds like there's a few of us with scans on Thursday?

Get chasing again Bisquick, as Carlotta said you've paid for the service.

Brens sounds like it might be worth you trying to swap, it's a long road ahead if you're unhappy with the midwife.

DH and I have spent some time recently trying to fathom out whether it's worth going for some shared parental leave. Anyone else going to do that?

Mrsbluebell17 · 30/05/2017 20:42

Zaber that sounds interesting re the pram. I'm about to head to the mothercare website for a look now.

Oysterbabe · 30/05/2017 20:49

I'm jealous of those looking at nice prams. We've decided we are going to flog ours and get a double after all. They are all ugly and horrid but I can see how they will make life much easier. We still have a runaround umbrella fold single that I'll use with the sling if I'm getting the bus or something.

Mrsbluebell17 · 30/05/2017 20:58

Omg Zaber I've just watched the video for the journey on mothercare's website and I'm totally sold Grin. What a bargain although it's saying pre order? Is it totally new? No reviews of it yet online?
We were going to buy SILs icandy peach 3 off her if timings work out but I might be tempted by this instead if it means we can have new for the same sort of cost.

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 30/05/2017 21:02

Ooo thanks @Zaberwocky - we'll check it out too!

CarlottaJo · 30/05/2017 21:07

@Mrsbluebell17 although I in theory like the idea of the shared leave a lot, I totally want it all haha x

CarlottaJo · 30/05/2017 21:08

My friend recently did it though as she was leaving her job to go to uni so had to go back or pay back her maternity so they had 6 months each, she really rated it x
