Yet another new thread, because just like all the remaining posters the old one is about to go pop.

Good to hear of some more baby action Noodle Hope it all kicks off for you very soon.
Well...
Mine (contractions) are getting stronger, still not regular but have not stopped all day 15 mins 8 mins 10 mins, have not gone longer than 15 mins without a contraction, plus getting some serious cramping pains now just before each one.

I hoovered this morning, cleaned windows, toilets everything just to keep moving, went out to supermarket then out to outlet stores, not stopped all day! Had a lay down at 4.45 and still they go on...

We shall see what the night brings though. Famous last words!

Noodlekitty · 18/03/2007 18:14

Oh Piffle, sounds exciting too! Hopefully will be soon for you!

muppethasakitten · 18/03/2007 18:18

Noodle - sounds like what happened to me 2 weeks ago!

Sadly - i did absolutely nothing so had to be induced on the monday...

So get nipple tweaking, get out the clary sage, eat pineapple etc etc ... i will keep my fingers crossed that you start contracting soon!!

(if not don't worry though - the induction really isn't that bad and at least it speeds things up!)

madhide · 18/03/2007 19:41

Good Evening and happy mothers day to those that are mothers, and those that will be mothers soon!

Just to report, i went back to the hospital last night at 11.00, was 4 cm, got into the birthing pool at 12 and at 2.46 Jensen was born weighing in at 11lbs and 2 ozs.... with just gas and air to see me through. I will write up all the gory details on the birth announcment for those that want to read it, but the short version is that all went well untill the last 4-5 mins, when i had birthed his head in the pool, but his shoulder got wedged, so i had to be hoisted out and delivered him on the floor. He was delivered so fast that he suffered severe bruising to his face, so much so he looked a DARK shade of purple, and his eyes and cheeks were swollen with the pressure that was exerted on him. Bottom line however is that it will all disappear within a week! Pics on peanut monkey i came home at 2 this afternoon with stiches and an overwhelming desire to sleep! Going to do the latter after a nice relaxing lavender bath. Any other recommendations for 2degree tear wounds???

Hope everyone is well, will catch up with the news soon xxxxxx

congrats Madhide xxxx

foxcub · 18/03/2007 19:49

Jay - thats fabulous news!! He looks so cute in the poctures - congratulations!

I had 2nd degree tears and didn't do anything special apart from wash the area very carefully - was very swollen for about 7 days (and scared to poo!) but then it all suddenly just de-swelled and is fine now.

Are you going to BF?

Jaysecond · 18/03/2007 19:58

yes, have fed him four times so far, but he seems to have probs latching on, hes just being lazy i think! Have had a cpl of small blisters appear as a result.... am sure it will get better! After pains being kept to a minimum with drugs, but did have a lot of stiches, very scared of doing a poo!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 18/03/2007 20:42

Congrats madhide and jay, how lovely That's some big baby Jay . I'll check out your pics in a sec

runningal · 18/03/2007 20:57

Just logged back on - what a lot of posts in one day - seems like things are moving for lots of people here now!

Congratulations to madhide and jay! fantastic news! Hope jensen's bruising and the tear get better soon!

Thanks for the advice, Kitty - think you're right, I just need to relax more somehow this time around (hope the TENS helps).

Good luck for tomorrow Dolly, and to the other ladies who sound like they're nearing the big day. I'll keep checking in on you all!

eidsvold · 18/03/2007 21:05

jay get into the arnica tablets - help with healing.

I found tea tree oil in warm water worked well with helping c- section stitches/wound heal. Try a few drops in a warm bath.

congrats and welcome to Jensen.

congrats Madhide and welcome to Madeline.

nothing here - although have had a very painful pelvic area - know baby is lying like ( rather than totally back to front iykswim. Lots of lower back ache. But no labour or stop start like you piffle.

Roll on Friday!!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 18/03/2007 21:05

Jay, I've had so many 2nd degree tears I think I'm all scar tissue now . I've never had healing probs though. I tend to feel very swollen at first. It is really important to keep the area clean. Have a bath or showeer everyday. Lavender is good to use.

eidsvold · 18/03/2007 21:06

wow - just saw Jensen was 11lb 7 oz!!

Noodlekitty · 18/03/2007 21:09

Big congratulations Madhide and Jay!

Madhide, what a gorgeous name...

Muppet, I've been walking about for the last couple of hours to try and start things off, going nowhere and I'm just getting tired, so off to eat some pineapple and do a bit of nipple tweaking... To be honest, so dying to get this baby out I'm not as bothered about induction as I thought. Apart from anything else, I'm running out of gaviscon, could do with an end to the horrible indigestion! lol...

CallieNewMum · 18/03/2007 21:19

Congratulations Jay and Madhide.

yogimum · 18/03/2007 21:21

I'm sure everybody knows this already but if taking arnica its best to get very high strength ones which aren't available in regular shops. Got mine from a website and they delivered the next day.

Egypt · 19/03/2007 02:47

congrats jaysecond. thats great
i can't find your birth announcement

eidsvold · 19/03/2007 04:51

i just used average strength arnica that I was able to buy in a health shop here in Aus - it worked fab with healing after the c-section.

What a horrid day. Took dd1 for her paed outpatient appt at the hospital - had to wait 1 1/2 hrs to be seen. Dh had rescheduled appts etc so he could be there. He ended up having to leave before dd1's appt was over. The registrar is plotting dd1's growth and saying she has stayed the same - probably because registrar is using last appts weight and height measurements!! Then when we came out huge queue for appts..... could not be bothered waiting - very uncomfortable the last couple of days and the thought of standing in a long queue with the two dds and waiting for an appt was more than I could bear!!! Thankfully dh works at the kids hospital so he is going to pop down in the next week and get her new appt.

However did have a bargain moment. Went to buy some muslin nappies to use with no3 - muslin are fab for newborns - not as bulky etc. They usually retail for $20 for 6. So I got a pack - went through the checkout - $4.86!!! what a bargain - went back and got the last packet. So have plenty along with the fitted nappies we already had for no3!!! So I got 12 for 1/2 the price of 6!!!!!!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 19/03/2007 07:17

Everything's covered in snow here, God.

TheBlonde · 19/03/2007 07:20

Jay - many congrats! hope the bruising goes soon

Feeling tired here. DS woke in the night and eventually DH got him back to sleep but then I lay awake for hours. Drifted off eventually but DS woke me at 6.30

Kitty - no snow here although it was snowing in the night, nothing settled. Really cold though

eidsvold · 19/03/2007 07:58

no snow here either balmy 28 degrees and sunny.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 19/03/2007 08:22

That's so weird isn't it Eids?

Is anyone who is still waiting now feeling really, really uncomfortable? As each day goes by I can move less. I feel so full up with baby. Every part of me hurts now. I think I sleep but wake up exhausted. I feel very disabled. I don't like having to rely on other people, it makes me feel out of control.
Anyways, enough moaning. Hope everyone's having a good day

eidsvold · 19/03/2007 08:27

kitty - I have been tired etc but yesterday and for most of today - been very sore in my pubic/pelvis area making it hard to walk, get in and out of car etc.

Think I may have overdone it swimming with the dds. Doesn't help that dd2 has had dd1's viral infection and is still spotty and very sooky so wants up on my lap all the time.

Chocolatepenny · 19/03/2007 08:37

Congrats to Manhide and Jaysecond, Those pictures are great by the way, his little face! glad he can still open his eyes a bit though. He's a great size. Get better soon.
Well I am bored waiting for the event, roll on Thursday although I don't think its gonna happen that would be just to organised wouldn't it?
Kitty, yes to all that! was going to say something depressing about us joining the April Club but shut myself up in time! Positive thoughts>
