Yet another new thread, because just like all the remaining posters the old one is about to go pop.

Laidback pmsl at Masterchef! I used to watch that when I was little, used to rotfl when they talked about - think it was called a coolie? - basically a posh word for an incredibly thin gravy! I always used to think that if I got those meals in a restaurant I'd feel very cheated, they didn't go in for big portions did they?!!

Kitty you're welcome to come over to ours, the moussaka serves four apparently but in practice I find it serves dh and a pregnant lady with enough left over for one person for a snack the next day.

So you come over and dh can make his own tea!!

Actually dh has gone out for a drive, he really is in a foul mood, I don't think it's with me for once, although I never can tell 100%. I do prefer being with a bloke who is "sensitive" iyswim (goodness knows I'm not!) but sometimes sensitive has a flip side!

Hello ladies,

I must go down as the least regular contributor to this thread in history! Just back from hospital today, so haven't had time to catch up on events, but congratulations to any more new mums!

I was last on last Sunday when my waters had just broken, finally, after a very eventful day, had my gorgeous daughter Heather Rose by emergency c-section on Tuesday morning just after 1am. She had to spend her first few hours in the SCBU, but has thrived since and is home now, making my world such a completely different place I can hardly believe it!

Hope you are all well.

lins1uk · 24/03/2007 21:19

hello all,
finally heres here!!!!
had him on friday 23rd march weighing 7lbs 6oz!
had to stay in for a night though as lost a lot of blood but am home now,
managed to get through the labour on just gas and air as they left it to late to give me anything else,
but am just glad hes here,
lins xx

Piffle · 24/03/2007 21:20

I just popped in to hopefully see a new baby had happened, I'm so happy that I want everyone to have the same!

Finn is an easy baby, he feeds a lot, my milk is well in and he eats every hour or so for 3 hrs then sleeps for 2-3. better at night.
He is a dream, very contented...

Laidback am really praying for some serious labour vibes for you!
And everyone else, it cannot be much longer!
love piff x x

eidsvold · 25/03/2007 05:40

i'm home they let me out after 2 1/2 days.

just a quick message - Kate Elizabeth born 9.08am 23 Mar 8lb 4 oz.

dds adore her, feeding nicely, not a lot of pain now.

Mossie · 25/03/2007 07:43

Morning and congrats to Noodlekitty, Lins and Eids!

Just a quick msg 'cos woke up in agony from wrists, have taken 2 para and back to lie down now. Laters! xxx

Mossie · 25/03/2007 07:44

Ps Jay wish it was Phil Collins 'cos then we'd have "I can feel it coming in the air tonight" and lo would be on his way!!

LunarSea · 25/03/2007 08:27

Still here, still nothing happening. Rather think little one has taken on board that 13th April deadline and decided that there's no particular hurry!

runningal · 25/03/2007 11:49

Could I ask here for some urgent advice please?

I'm due 31/3 but became really ill, nauseous and shivery last night, and from 9pm started vomiting. That went on all night, developed diarrhoea too from around 2am and didn't get any sleep until around 6am when the nausea/vomiting calmed down a bit.

Don't know what has caused it as I ate just the same as my husband and son, but obviously my main concern is the baby. We phoned the antenatal dept in the night to ask for advice and they said not to come in due to my infectivity risk, but that it's ok as long as baby keeps moving. I haven't felt any movement at all this morning (been up about an hour now).

Do you think I should panic? I guess baby is tired as I'd have kept him awake all night too?
Sorry for the long post but any advice/reassurance about food poisoning in pregnancy would be very gratefully received.

LaidbackinEngland · 25/03/2007 12:03

runninggal - phone them again. Drink a very cold drink and that can sometimes get the baby moving. Go in if you are at all worried. If you can't go in because they are worried about infection - ask them to send a midwife out to you. Normally a tummy bug doesn't pose any risk to the baby - but best to get it checked out. Sometimes you can expereince vomiting and upset tummies before you go into labour - so maybe that's what is happening.

LaidbackinEngland · 25/03/2007 12:05

Can't believe I got Phil and Elton muddled up My 'Phil' tune for the days is " Against all odds" as that is how likely it is the baby will come today in my opinion !

Thanks for all the baby vibes ! !

Well done noodle, lins and eidsvold

I am going to go walking again to see if I can make this baby appear !

Mossie · 25/03/2007 12:07

Runningal I really don't know, I believe vomiting and the runs can be an early sign of labour though, like your body clearing itself out before the big event? I would suggest posting something in pregnancy someone will know. I am sure you will be okay and I don't think you should panic, but you could always phone the hospital again to be on the safe side? I am sure they won't mind. Sorry you're feeling rotten.

Rosy looking forward to your photos....!

My wrists are a bit better now, but I'm still getting dh to walk the dogs, can't be doing with it if they're going to start trying to pull me along!

EDD in two days... have I felt anything yet? Nope, not a button.

Mossie · 25/03/2007 12:08

Laidback good luck with your walk! Hey you can come and walk my dogs for me if that'll help!

Piffle · 25/03/2007 12:08

so pleased to hear great news from Eidsvold, Lins and Noodle!
Eids that is terrific speed home petal, sometimes though resting in hospital is impossible. How are your dd's liking their new little sister? Glad the pain is ok too.

Laidback, good luck with "encouraging" this baby out!
bit pushed for time good luck to all

muppethasakitten · 25/03/2007 12:21

Congrats to noodle and lins - great news from you both and so glad you are both back home safely with your lo's.

Laidback - i truly am sending you my most strong labour vibes... can't you feel them??

runningal - agree with mossie - can be sign of labour - but best to get it checked... do you think you have a temp?

Mossie - sending you healing vibes for wrists - did you enjoy the moussaka? It's one of my fave dishes of all time! Any left?

eids - great news! Another pink one!! Bet dd1 and dd2 are all over her!!! How clever of you to have 3 the same - think of all the hand-me-downs! Perfect!

Piffle - your little finn needs to have a word with my Samuel - who appears to have lost his ability to sleep at night and feed every 3 hours... what's gone wrong?????

divastrop · 25/03/2007 12:29

runningirl-vomiting can also be a sign of high bp,im shocked they told you not to go in.i was being sick when i was admitted the saturday before i had Elsie, that was one of the reasons they kept me in
its also totally normal to get the runs just before labour starts.

hows everybody else doing?ive not had a chance to catch up yet,i forgot that it actually takes a few weeks to get new babies into a routine no matter how strict you are,and by the time Elsie has settled i just want to sleep or stare at the telly.it was the same with dd2,i think i forgot the first 3 months though.

only a week of march left ladies, whos going to wait till april???

divastrop · 25/03/2007 12:32

rosy-i got that book yesterday(paul mckenna one).now i need a book called 'how to motivate yourself to read a book'.and i need something to listed to the cd on

runningal · 25/03/2007 12:43

Thanks for the advice. I've just phoned the hospital again and they were more reassurring - they think that baby is probably asleep after being up through the night. They recommended icy drinks and hot sugary drinks and if I still don't feel any movement I can go in to get checked out.

Best wishes and labour vibes to all still left here.

muppethasakitten · 25/03/2007 13:02

Diva - i'm the same as you... completely forgot how tough some moments can be in the first 3 months... must have blocked it out!

Very put out - Samuel keeps giving massive grins to dh and bugger all to me... i keep telling him it's just wind...

foxcub · 25/03/2007 13:35

Congrats to noodle, lins and eidsvold

Nice to ahve some more baby girls too

Muppet/Diva - just when you think everything is under control it all changes doesn't it?

LaidbackinEngland · 25/03/2007 15:04

where are you kitty ?

Mossie · 25/03/2007 16:57

Runningal glad to hear the hospital are being a bit more supportive, hope you're okay now.

Muppet there was a huge portion of moussaka left, I'll heat it up for dinner tomorrow!

Diva nice to hear from you again how are things with you and your dp?

I'm gonna have a clary sage bath now. Doesn't do much I don't think but I like the smell at least.

Yes where is Kitty? Doesn't she know if you go AWOL for more than half a day everyone assumes you're in labour?!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 25/03/2007 17:55
