Yet another new thread, because just like all the remaining posters the old one is about to go pop.

OP posts:

Just got back from the hospital ...sa wnice understanding consultant man and they checked baby, me, placenta, amniotic fluid etc , all ok. Happy to let me go ahead over the weekend - I said I would consider a sweep on Monday ...

Any more news from anyone ?

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 23/03/2007 12:50

Sazzy, I absolutely ADORE newborns . It's such a short period, a month tops (imo), I wish it could be for a bit longer.

LunarSea · 23/03/2007 13:12

I have absolutely NO motivation to do any work today - keep thinking that I should have a baby by now and not be needing to do this. On the upside there's so much else happening over the weekend - DH's birthday today, a birthday party, the local NCT sale and the school Easter Fayre tomorrow, and ds is supposed to be doing a ski race on Sunday - that nothing happening until Monday might not be a bad thing!

Afternoon everyone,

Been out and about this morning, went to the hairdressers with dh, then for a hot chocolate, and then my friend (the lady who got pg after the IVF didn't work) came round with her ds (he is 18 months). He's so cute, but it shocked me how much stuff in our house is dangerous! He couldn't move for more than two metres without coming into contact with something electrical, or hot, or heavy...

Merlin absolutely loved him which bodes well, but Arthur was scared of him and spent most of the time running away!

Morocco, do Emily's mystic powers extend to being able to send birthing vibes my way?

Mistiek congratulations on little Paige! Lovely name too.

Chocpenny is that true about the free shopping? I might have to load up a trolly of those M&S chocolate puds and pretend to go into labour....

Piffle congratulations for you... finally! You must be so relieved, Finn's a really cool name as well.

Lins you probably have your baby by now!

As will Eids of course...

Lunar I hope you pop before then as well so you can turn around to your work and say "I told you so"!

Dolly my email address is msrlmoss @ hotmail . com. Sorry you're not feeling 100%. Looking forward to seeing your photos when you get chance.

The Blonde - congratulations! What thoughts do you have on a name, then?

Sazzy I'm glad you're feeling a little better today.

Laidback glad you got a nice consultant and they're not trying to force you into something you don't want.

I know I'm only 39+3 but I would have thought I'd have felt something by now, I've not even really had any BHs or anything like that. Certainly nothing like a show or waters breaking or whatever. Can labour come on quite suddenly or am I deluding myself that there's even a chance he might be on time?

Piffle · 23/03/2007 16:01

Congarts to morocco, the blonde, mistiek, Eidsvold and probably Lins by now too!
sazzy great news about your healing nipples, sounds like you've had quite a lot to deal with - hope you're coming through the other side.
Laidback hope your little one decides to make an exit pronto, glad you're able to be insistent about what you want and not be pushed into anything - WTG!

Well if technology serves, there should be a pic or two on my profile

First 24 hrs, have gone in a blur - all I know is that sleep did not figure as the highest number of hours consumed
But i feel great anyway

This kiddo is eating like he means business. milk seems aplenty, certainly if what's going in bears any relation to what's coming out!
He is divine, the whole family is smitten.

Hope those of you waiting get your fluffy little gorgeous smelling bundles soonest

LaidbackinEngland · 23/03/2007 16:16

Piffle your pictures are adorable... made me feel very excited

muppethasakitten · 23/03/2007 17:42

Piffle - Finn looks totally edible!! Didn't realise you had a teen son too - it's so handy having much older ones isn't it.

Mossie - certainly labour can come on in an unexpected rush - did with my ds1 - so don't get too comfortable there girly!

Hope to hear from lins and Eids soon.

Morocco - born in the caul - how cool! you must manufacture industrial strength membranes (not like mine which pop at the slightest thing when i'm no where near ready to labour!)

chocolatepenny - just saw my mw at the school gate and she said rsch is rammed at the moment - women popping out babies left right and centre so i'd give it a couple more days to let things cool off!!

Where's foxy today then?

Chocolatepenny · 23/03/2007 18:04

Mossie, Yes its true! its one of those things certain stores have done in the past, or a urban myth like the peeing in a police mans hat one
Well I am booked in for a sweep next thursday, but MW is coming to my house to do it which I think is great. JUst saw a article on Richard and Judy about Birth experiences on NHS (mostly bad) but I think it must be down to who you have in your local team, I normally have great MWs but Last week I had a horrible one who made me panic and worry and I'd image she would be terrible to have at the birth, so totally understand.
Muppet hope RSCH is quite when he decides to pop, I heard its been really busy,..don't want to be left on a bed with frantic DH giving instructions!
Who do I see about being next? Me next PLeasssseeeee

Chocolatepenny · 23/03/2007 18:05

Piffle, he's a little beauty !

foxcub · 23/03/2007 18:16

Hiya

I slept all morning, then fed Monti, then school run, then M&S and Monti due to wake for a feed any minute.. (did I mention how cute Monti is? )

Piffle - wow congratulations, at last!! and what a beautiful name. I'd like Monti's middle name to be Finn or Finbar - but need a saints name (saint Finbar?). What a gorgeous boy!!

Monti Finn

Monti Finbar

Congrats to the Blonde - you sound extremely calm and serene - wll done for producing a girl too!!!

Sazzy - glad your nips are receovering. I think nips get sore at first and almost grow another, tougher, layer for BFing. Lends a whole new meaning to the term "tough titty" doesn't it

Kitty - youy'll have your newborn in your arms very soon -

Hi everyone else

CallieNewMum · 23/03/2007 21:58

God, you don't log on for two days and look... congratulations to Morocco, TheBlonde, Piffle, Sazzy, Mistiek, Spongecake - have I missed anyone?

To those still waiting - birthing vibes all round.

Mossy, I just watched a double bill of Dr Who, the last two of last series which I didn't see. There is something about him, sort of, I must admit. By the way, two of my workmates are raising money for the London marathon for NSPCc and they're auctioning Dr Who stuff on e-Bay shortly which includes Dr Who toys signed by DT I believe. If you're interested, I'll try and get more details.

Kitty, if you've still got that envelope I sent you, do you think you could send me a copy of your DVD after all? Dondd't worry if you haven't, but I was thinking the other day I would still like to see it just in case I do have another one and it doesn't arrive 8.5 weeks early!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 23/03/2007 22:04

I do have it Callie! I'll do you a copy

Shanks, can you do the link again?

Piffle · 23/03/2007 22:12

shanks deanna is gorgeous!!!!!!!!

Finn is Finbar - Foxcub, but Finn for short
I think he is actually Finbar Seamus, but I'm not sure we've fully decided/argued/discussed

Man this little boy likes to eat! He will not be little for long, big shock as DD was daintiest of feeders, feeding 4 mins each side then, sleeping for 3 hrs...
Feeds for half his life and that's 2 out of every 4 hrs he spends languishing on my boobs.
But as it's my 3rd I've learned to sleep through dark time feeds
Mossie - I had no real signs with ds he was my first - few BH's no show, just severe nesting the day before.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 23/03/2007 22:19

Shanks, I worked out the link (duh), your little girl is lovely

Piffle Finn is so cute. You must be so relieved it's all over.

What lucky mummies you are

CallieNewMum · 23/03/2007 22:32

Thanks Kitty. I'll look forward to that.

rosylonginglily · 24/03/2007 07:30

Lovely pics shanks. Putting me to shame I've taken some piccies but its my first effort with digital camera so next I have to work out how to put them on the computer. And look at me a week later and I still haven't changed my name, oh well...I'll get there eventually...

Mossie · 24/03/2007 09:39

Oh Piffle look at him all swaddled up! He is adorable! Worth the wait then!

Muppet don't worry I'm not too comfy! I'd be happy for him to come very suddenly now, I am more worried that he's going to be horribly late!

Foxy lol at "tough titty"!

Shanks little Deanna is beautiful you all look so content!

Callie... do let me know about the ebay auction but at the same time, I don't want to get into trouble with dh! Oh I'm sure just having a little look can't hurt!

Come on Rosy, pull yer finger out and get your photos on!

Hey this morning I actually had something approaching a lie-in! I went a whole hour without needing the loo; it was bliss!

Dh gave my arms a proper rub last night as well and I dosed up on paracetamol so all in all, I actually had something approaching a decent rest last night! Better get a few of those in before lo is born I think, there'll be no time for resting then!

LaidbackinEngland · 24/03/2007 09:59

Morning.

Still no baby here.

Had great acupunture yesterday and had lots of ripening feelings when I got home. Had curry and bed action

This baby must be born today. Going to go for a walk and hope to get things moving that way.

Shanks - Deanna is lovely. Piffle - everyone keeps telling me 3rd labours are the most awkward but the babies are easiest.

Hello everyone else.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 24/03/2007 10:09

laidback, my third labour was very long, but very gentle iyswim? It only went loopy in the last hour or so.
I had gentle contractions for about 20 hours and then they stopped completely. Then an hour later it all kicked off and I went to hospital and was already 10 cms. Yes, she was an extraordinarily easy baby too!!!!

Chocolatepenny · 24/03/2007 11:02

Shanks, she's lovely, love all those baby pictures.
Feeling like I've got a upset stomach today so maybe....?

foxcub · 24/03/2007 18:25

Quiet on here - have you all gone into labour in unison?

Mossie · 24/03/2007 18:46

I wish Foxy! Nope, still here, still waiting, still getting nothing, nowt, nada, not even a twinge.

I did make a really nice lemon sponge though. My culinary skills are going from strength to strength! I'm making moussaka for tea, as well. If someone had said to me a month ago that I'd be able to make such dishes of delight, I'd have laughed merrily in their face.

I do keep wishing I could feel something where I could say, "maybe it's a sign?" but absolutely nothing. I mean, even, like you say chocpenny, an upset stomach, or you know, even a slightly odd feeling in my bump... but no. I feel no different now to how I did at about 30 weeks. Except heavier. And more tired. And with sore wrists. And swollen fingers.

Oh okay you got me, I feel very different. But not in that way, iyswim.

Laidback, I hope it happens really soon for you!

Kitty, were all your babies overdue or did any of them arrive on time?

Dh is in a funny mood today. Like he got out of bed on the wrong side, as the saying goes. Maybe it's lack of booze!

LaidbackinEngland · 24/03/2007 18:52

Hi Mossie and Foxy - In the words of Phil Collins .... I'm still standing yeah yeah yeah. Went for a really long walk (relatively anyway) today.

AM getting some twinges - but nothing approaching what I remember the start of labour feeling like. I will be 42 weeks tomorrow. Have found myself talking sternly to the baby.... telling him to come out now if he knows whats good for him.... as if that's going to help

Mossie - I would like to be seeing you on next years masterchef... " This time last year mossie didn't even know she could cook... now look at her ! "

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 24/03/2007 19:12

Mossy, all round to yours for dinner then .
I'm fed up of eating let alone cooking. I'm not fed up of eating sweets and choc though!!

I'm the same as you Mossy, I get the odd bh but nothing else. Apart from being very fat and heavy I feel no different to 30 weeks. All mine have been late. This wait is a very long wait I think because we are so uncomfy and the end is in sight and we just want it to be over.
Everytime I do this post 40 weeks malarky I realise that I've forgotton just how hard it is. But knowing that I go a certain amount of time over does mean that I don't get so upset everyday anymore that he isn't here. if I get to 3 weeks over and am still here then that will push me!!
