Yet another new thread, because just like all the remaining posters the old one is about to go pop.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LaidbackinEngland · 22/03/2007 17:07

The midwife I saw this morning at the hospital just phoned to tell me she had been discussing me with the registrar and would I like an elective caesarean ?!?

I wonder if I was speaking the same language as her this morning

Mistiek · 22/03/2007 17:09

Hello All

Sorry for not posting this last week but have not had much time to myself.

C-section went well and Paige Tayla Du Toit was born on the 16th at 11:54 weighing 7.5lbs and 47cm long.

I came home on Sunday but have not had much time to myself. Its been tough getting used to the lack of sleep but DH has been an absolute star and doing everything around the house and with DS. Things are now settling down and Paige is getting into her own routine and feeding about every 4 hours.

Things this time round have gone so much better than the last time and I could not be happier. I am even managing to breast feed this time - although nipples are still slightly soar it is getting easier by the day.

Don't have time to catch up on everything but hope that everyone is well and that those who are still waiting to have there babies have them soon and all goes well. And to those that have popped - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Chocolatepenny · 22/03/2007 17:49

sazzybee, get better soon, sounds like you are having a tough time of it at the mo. Well my day has passed with no show of baby on EDD,..big surprise!
I did get a sofa, but Muppet I didn't manage to get any free shopping, waters stayed intact even though DH suggest I could fake it! I'm not at that stage of deluded despartion yet and I 'll buy my own custard tarts

Chocolatepenny · 22/03/2007 17:50

Well done for resisting C section Laidback, they will be wanting to push you through the sausage factory at this stage.

LaidbackinEngland · 22/03/2007 17:54

Congratulations Mistiek...

Hope all gets better for you and your little man Sazzy - everyone recommends tea tree oil in the bath for c section scars ?

foxcub · 22/03/2007 21:26

Congrats Mistiek and Morocco - that's amazing about Emily being born with waters intact - very special baby!!

Sazzy - my friends son also had tongu tie and she had probs feeding him. Sounds as though he can feed off other nip OK though? You'll probably feel better if you get some cream on the sore nip, but [hugs] to you - sound slike your really going through it. It can only get easier!

EIDS - good luck vibes across the oceans for your CS tomorrow!!

Piffle · 22/03/2007 22:42

right update!
homebirth went skewiff, aftre failing to progress, was 4 cms at 11pm 5cms at 2am, so midwife and I thought water breaking would help as contractions stopped dead.
Nothing, as it go to 6am, I was shattered, kids were due up and we decided on transfer to hospital
only bloody blue lights in the snow! started contracting on the way ( the long bumpy road to get labour going is not a myth it works!)

arrived at 6.10am, everything kicked off, Finn arrived 3 mins after his daddy walked in the door at 7.27am, no pain relief, he is 8lbs 3 oz and thoroughly delicious, feeding like a trooper.
Was home by 1pm, am totally shattered as is dp, we had nap this afternoon.

Will hopefully have time to read others news tomorrow

Love and hugs and congrats to any other new babes and love to Eids for tonight

Today SHOULD be the day - but no sign of anything happening yet. Will actually be a bit annoyed if we get past next Tuesday and I end up having to cover for work as they've assumed all along that I'd be available for those days, and I'd quite like to have told them "tough, you've known long eenough to have planned it better".

MrLSG · 23/03/2007 08:35

Lunar,
Just don't log on to work email and don't answer the phone. They'll then assume something is happening - even if it does take longer. And tell bump to get on with the job!

trace2 · 23/03/2007 08:38

congrats to theblonde, ans piffle so pleased for you both, and good luck to every one else

LaidbackinEngland · 23/03/2007 08:46

Lins - hope all went well for you too.

I'm off the the hospital for more monitoring, meeting with the consultant, then over to Brighton for some acupuncture, 59 pineapples, a curry, a bumpy drive and some hot sex

Chocolatepenny · 23/03/2007 08:49

Congrats Piffle at last! good luck everybody else.
Due date has come and gone despite me going around Croydon's Ikea at 9pm last night buying stuff like a loony (nesting I hope) Come on you bumps!!!!!!!!

sazzybee · 23/03/2007 09:48

Congratulations piffle, theblonde, morocco, mistiek and everyone who has had their babes since I went awol - loads of us! Hope the waiting isn't too miserable for the rest of you.

I'm much better today. Resting my nipple for 24 hours and coating it in lansinoh has had a miraculous effect - must thank the lovely people on the cracked nipple thread who gave such wonderful advice. We had the first painfree feed so far this morning and now he is completely conked out. He slept for 4.5 hours last night too! I feel so much better I'm even going to leave the house!

Sleep + lack of pain = happy sazzybee

ooh my nipples are required! Later lovely ladies x

muppethasakitten · 23/03/2007 10:55

Hurrah Piffle! well done you! love the name! and congrats to the blonde too! well done on producing a little girl... they seem in short supply!

Hope lins is on her way

Hope all went well for Eids too

Glad the lanisoh is working for you Sazzy

There's a bit of a run of babies going on - hope it rubs off on the rest of you girls.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 23/03/2007 10:59

I can't imagine having a little baby to cuddle. It seems like a million years away, quite surreal.

sazzybee · 23/03/2007 11:44

I have to say kitty, now Elliot is here, I can totally understand your desire to keep having new ones - I had no idea tiny babies could be so completely wonderful. I'm in love!
