Yet another new thread, because just like all the remaining posters the old one is about to go pop.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Piffle · 19/03/2007 16:59

yay dolly popped out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
many congrats to her and Tilly what a gorgeous little name
Might be our last girl Unless Theblonde has a wee girleen too...

Mossie · 19/03/2007 17:05

Aw congratulations to Dolly and what a cute name, Tilly.

Must mean that she got her wish to be one of the first in this morning.

Piffle you have had a busy day! And I thought I was overdoing it with my dog-trek!

I had a little sleep, well a lie down 'cos I couldn't sleep, and now I'm going to listen to some music and do the ironing. Dull but essential!

muppethasakitten · 19/03/2007 17:07

Congrats Dolly love the name Tilly and sounds a good weight... i reckon she got there early cos 9.33am's got to be one of the first on the list!!!

Mossy - how can you stay upright for an hour and a half? I would never have managed that whilst heavily pg!

Doctor visited today (how old fashioned! and suprising for the NHS) to check on me and babe... all fine... tried to have serious contraception discussion with me... WTF? Why do they bother?? It's hilarious... they must get the same response every time they bring it up with new mums.... ie... NEVER HAVING SEX AGAIN!!!

Picking ds1 up from school we had lightening, thunder and snow! Mad! Samuel was bundled up in his buggy snuggle adn rain cover... wanted to climb in there with him.

LaidbackinEngland · 19/03/2007 18:59

Congratulations Dolly ! ! !

Love the name Tilly too !

TheBlonde · 19/03/2007 19:43

Congrats to Dolly!

Managed to have an hour's kip this afternoon which was heavenly
Curry for dinner tonight

DH depressed me earlier.. he thinks I'll end up induced

LaidbackinEngland · 19/03/2007 19:55

Don't get depressed TheBlonde - as long as you and the baby are healthy i.e movements, BP ok, no protein/glucose in urine - you don't have to be induced at all. Had same conversation with my midwife today and she said that they will let you go on past 42 weeks if this is the case as nature WILL take it's course. The midwife said in her experience, inductions do lead to more interventions, so if everyone well... we're best left alone.

I have to see the consultant tomorrow apparently (a formality) as I am over 41 weeks and don't want an induction.

Hold your ground !

CallieNewMum · 19/03/2007 20:57

Congrats to Dolly and welcome Tilly.

morocco · 19/03/2007 21:02

congrats dolly - looking forward to reading all about your new dd

snap - the blonde - my dh is equally depressing! I'm off for acupuncture tomorrow, had reflexology today, sweep on wednesday, then I think that's about all I can do (absolutely refuse and draw the line at bj!!!!)

morocco · 19/03/2007 21:03

you sound lovely and chilled out about it, laidback! your name matches your personality .

hope bhx stay a bit calmer, piffle

congrats Dolly and welcome to Tilly

I had had to put some maternity clothing away as it does not fit me. I bought some terrible checky patterned draw string shorts - a few sizes too big and I exist in them at home all the time. Have about three pairs of drawstring crop trousers and they are my 'going out' clothes.

TheBlonde · 19/03/2007 21:29

Thanks Laidback

Morocco - I have the MW tomorrow and I know she'll offer a sweep but it was so awful with DS I'm not sure I can face it

I'm finding the differences between 2 large London teaching hospitals quite amazing... with DS I got a fetal wellbeing scan/monitoring appt at the day assessment unit then an induction date was sorted.
With this hosp/preg they just give you an induction date.

With DS they redated the preg from the first scan - a 3 day difference. With this hosp/preg the scan was 4 days out but they stuck with the LMP date

Piffle · 19/03/2007 21:30

ahhh well
Looks like (tentatively speaking like) I might be on the boil
Every 15 mins since 6pm and getting down to 8 minutes now.
Had bath, lie down there is no stopping them
Still bearable but not able to be ignored or sat through
Am sitting on spacehopper.
if this dies down and comes to nothing I might go in myself with kitchen tongs

Anyways will update or not as case maybe

eidsvold · 19/03/2007 21:31

sending you birth vibes.

Did chuckle at the tongs comment.

TheBlonde · 19/03/2007 21:35

Piffle -are you having a hosp birth? will you take the spacehopper with you??

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 19/03/2007 22:09

Ooh, good luck Piffle!!

foxcub · 19/03/2007 22:57

piffle - oooh good luck - hope its the real thing

eidsvold · 20/03/2007 05:11

hope you don't have a dora the explorer space hopper like we do piffle

been to last antenatal Gp appt today - measuring 40 weeks at 38 weeks!! Baby is still to the side. Babe's spine is on the left side of my bump ( my left side). Otherwise all is well.

Just counting down to Friday - bought some last minute pieces - like sweeties etc for hospital bag. Picked up a couple of newborn vests for $3 - bargain!! something to do for when we are at home and it is hot - vest and nappy.

eidsvold · 20/03/2007 05:15

oops meant to add - went and picked up dd1 from kindy and the teachers were all saying - ohh the next time we see you - you will have a baby and be a lot smaller than you are now!! Strange way to look at it - weird to think that I will have the babe by then!!

TheBlonde · 20/03/2007 07:11

No news from Piffle... maybe she's off having her LO

Eids - not long to go now for you. I'm that you know when baby is arriving

rosylonginglily · 20/03/2007 07:32

Congratulations to Dolly. Finally another little girl, and cute name, aaahh.

Piffle you have probably given birth by now! Best wishes and look forward to hearing about it.

eidsvold · 20/03/2007 08:46

Blonde - I am glad I know so I can organise things for dd1 especially but talk to dd2 about what is going to happen - who will look after her etc - she is a big mummies girl - we have not been apart much since she was born and definitely not overnight - let alone 5 days.

On the other hand - I have known since about 31 weeks and boy has the time dragged!!!

Chocolatepenny · 20/03/2007 08:50

Well Done Dolly and good luck PIffle although I'm sure that this is the big one!
Another day of bumpness, feeling a bit down as my DH also thinks I will be induced and its going to be April,..what's up with them and their negative vibes? Anyone would think its them waiting to have the baby.
Oh well have a good day everybody am off back to bed to read until swim class, will have to go with hairy legs as shaving them is not a possibility.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 20/03/2007 09:03

Chocpenny. If there is nothing wrong with you or your baby and you want to wait then they cannot FORCE you to be induced. The woman filming this birth is currently waiting for another lady to have her first baby and she is now over 4 weeks overdue.
Trust in yourself that it will be absolutely fine. Your baby will come when it is ready. Did you know that it is the babies who initiate the start of labour?
At the end of the day it must be your choice, not your dp's or the hospital's. Remember they all have their own agendas. Please do not feel pushed and pressured into doing something you are not happy with.

Mossie · 20/03/2007 09:22

Morning - or should I say moaning - all!

I say moaning 'cos I'm about to have a moan, sorry!

I've hardly slept because it is impossible to get comfy, no matter how many cushions and pillows I put into bed, I voluntarily went in the spare room in the end so I could get a whole double bed to myself but it did sweet fa. My fingers are swollen as per usual, the joints in my knees are sore so it hurts getting up off the sofa / chairs (as they're quite low), and ow ow ow ow my wrists! They feel like I've spent all of yesterday typing! Wtf is with that?

Right the moan is over now. Sorry, had to get it off my chest!

Muppet lol at "never having sex again" yes that will probably be quite an effective method of contraception I think I'll stick to that one too!

The Blonde / Morocco / Chocpenny sorry your dh's are being depressing. Mine was talking about induction last night. He said, "well, if Liverpool Women's induce as standard at +10 days then there's probably a good reason for it". Hang on dh aren't you meant to be my "voice in the labour ward" and all that? They offer to induce at +10 days probably 'cos they're scared of litigation if anything goes wrong!! (Well that's my theory anyway.)

Eids I had a pair of maternity jeans that lasted from about 12 weeks 'til about 24 and after that they were too small. Mil took them out for me around the waist and I got about another three weeks out of them but after that they were defunct!! Size 16 as well, which is my usual size when not pg, so I don't know what that's about!

Piffle... it's about time for you really isn't it you must be fed up with waiting! I hope this is the real thing! Spacehopper sounds boss btw, although not so sure about the tongs!

Kitty, wow, four weeks overdue! I think if that was me, although I'm a bit scared of being induced I'd probably have gotten fed up by then! Big kudos to her!

Right today I'm going to take the dogs for a nice quick walk. Mil is coming over later to take me to Asda, can't remember if she's coming at eleven or two though, just tried to call her but she's out, probably walking her dogs. Ah well we'll see.

Have a good day everyone!!

LunarSea · 20/03/2007 09:33

Blonde / Morocco / Chocpenny / Mossie - it must be something in the air affecting all these men.... mine told me this morning that he thought he'd have about 48 hours notice before anything was going to happen - so it's ok isn't it if he goes out on Thursday night (EDD is Friday). I don't think he quite gets the concept that things will probably be quicker 2nd time around, and that the waters breaking then nothing happens for a couple of days scenario we had last time wasn't typical!
