Kittiwake · 28/03/2007 18:01

Thanks Buffy

I am finding macaroni cheese a good standby when I just can't face anything else. Yesterday I had a load of garlic bread but I felt dreadful afterwards.

Midwife said today I had loads of Ketones in my wee. I just couldn't eat anything this morning so hardly surprising. I am going to try eating biscuits in bed before I get up tomorrow

buffy, I've found the following very helpful in staving off the sickness: (no particular order)
peanut butter toast
marmite toast
babybel cheese
rice krispies
fruit flakes (got a packet free in my bounty pack, and have developed a habit!)

I feel like the only person in history to have hyperemesis and to put on weight! Never mind, I've lost it once, I can do it again!

See you later all!

God luck to Hairybabysmum for Saturday.

vitomum · 28/03/2007 18:45

hello again all. great to hear all the positive scan stories and well done ejt for getting everyone's dates together. well i couldn't hold out til 13th april so paid for private one which i had today and all went well. they say i am 13 weeks 3 days which is a bit more than i thought and also more time that has elapsed since my last AF. so i can't figure that out but never mind i am officially in the second trimester - bring on the blooming!

honeyapple · 28/03/2007 18:47

Great news Kittiwake

Ejt- Marmite and toast and Rice Kripsies are also my standby! Had both today.

Kittiwake · 28/03/2007 19:05

Thanks everyone

Congratulations to you Vitomum on your positive news - it's such a relief isn't it

greedyforbabies · 28/03/2007 19:45

mashed potato, jacket potato, chips, creamed potato, boiled potato, fried potato .......and...........if i am feeling sophisticated dauphinoise potatoes!

i love all these happy grinning faces next to all the scans! so many babies in so many tummies!!!!!!

MrsFish · 28/03/2007 20:08

Well done kitiwake and vitomum

J20BABYLOVESCHOCOLATEEGGS · 28/03/2007 20:40

just wondered, do any of you need a boucer, vibrating chair, just got one off ebay for £17.50, seems cheap will try and do a link

\link{http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EXPLORE-AND-PLAY-BABY-BOUNCER-CHAIR-PRICE-INC-POSTAGE_W0QQitemZ280098288616QQcategoryZ20432QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem}

can't do it i don't think, anyway if any of you find them, a different seller has them for £22 further up, so i've saved £5.50

gemmamc · 28/03/2007 20:56

congratulations vitomum and kittiwake!!

as for ms (although I am not sure if what I have now is m/s or heartburn or a strange combination/transition between the two!) I find it useful to eat:
-bread or bagels
-pasta
-dry biscuits or oatcakes
or anything similar

plus....caramilised ginger seems to be very effective. Unfortunately I ran out and forgot to buy it so can't have it tonight...

fettleandminifettle · 28/03/2007 21:32

Great news on the good scans!!

My nausea is still coming in waves - particularly first thing when I don't eat breakfast early enough and over the last couple of days as DD has been a bit ill - wiping bottoms and dealing with sick has been hard!! Thank goodness for DH!!! He's been a star.

Personally, I'm all for any carbohydrate intake!! But then I put on 3 stone with DD, trying hard not to this time round - only a few pounds so far, which is much better than this time last time!!

Off to find some chocolate now!

take care all

honeyapple · 29/03/2007 10:12

Morning!

Well I'm having a load of fun this morning...

Got plumber in ripping the bathroom out... and DS at home ill with a runny bottom... we only have 1 loo- and the plumber is about to smash it up!

It's horrid when kids are ill... what am I doing having another one??

J20- I'm not even thinking about buying any baby stuff yet. Want to get the scan over first. Also house is so stuffed full of CR*P that I don't know where I would put any baby stuff... actually I don't know where I'm going to put a baby... definitely need to move house!

Vitomum- great news about the scan. Will you still have the other one in a couple of weeks?

KezzaG · 29/03/2007 10:19

Kittiwake and Vitomum congratulations on the scans, really pleased for you both.

Its a flying visit today as I have a sore throat that feels like knives when I swallow and earache in both ears. Im off to lay on the sofa under a blanket watching Fern and Phil and suck non medicated lozenges.

hope everyones ms sorts itself out soon. Have a good day all.

KezzaG · 29/03/2007 10:21

Oh and good luck HBM in case I dont get back on before your scan. Just think the more of us who have scans and have one baby, the more chance of those on the second half of the list having twins......be afraid....be very afraid

buffythenappyslayer21 · 29/03/2007 11:21

morning all!

well, last night i culdnt decide what i wanted to eat,dh brought home chinese (sweet and sour chicken cantonese style with egg fried rice),i ate about four fork fulls, and spent the next half hour on th bathroom floor with my head down the loo!am convinced this baby doesnt like me eating!!!

feel ok today, not eaten yet, just drinking lots, the thought of eating is actually making me feel sick, daft eh?!

hope everyone has a good day, keep warm kezza, hope you feel better soon!!

Mumpbump · 29/03/2007 12:17

Congratulations to Kitti and Vitomum! And good luck to hairybabysmum for Saturday - what an odd day for a scan!!

Kezza - try steam inhalations with olbas oil or similar for earache. It worked wonders with mine in early pg when they couldn't prescribe antibiotics. 3/4 times a day for a couple of days.

Buffy - howabout trying some soup if you can't eat proper food?

Honeyapple - your post made me laugh (sorry!). Can't imagine anything worse than no toilet and a child with the runs... Good timing, hey?

Fettle - I have a good chocolate supply. Every time it's someone's birthday at work, it is traditional to hand around a load of chocolate bars, crisps, etc. It's great - I don't even have to go out to the shop!

Hello to everyone else! Feeling alright today, but a bit coldy. Have a work night out tonight so am going to spin a line about ds waking lots so not being able to drink too much... Almost at the weekend!

honeyapple · 29/03/2007 13:51

Mumpbump- fear not! I persuaded plumber to leave the loo intact for now! He's actually been very good and vacates the area quickly when DS runs towards him with an anguished expression! Only 2 more hours and the plumber will be off, leaving us with a bombsite and no washing facilities.

Is it feasible to feel movement of baby as early as 10 wks? I know I felt DD at about 14 wks... just been having odd flutterings recently.

Mumpbump · 29/03/2007 14:09

I think it would be possible, especially if it's not your first. I definitely felt something when I was 11.5 weeks (ish), but haven't felt much since. Firststar (on the pg after m/c thread) felt her baby at 12 weeks and it is her first, I think...

fettleandminifettle · 29/03/2007 21:34

Hey girls - hope all well over here tonight!!

Honeyapple - I'm convinced I felt my little one move while I was in the waiting room for my scan last week, so would have been under 13 weeks. didn't feel DD until about 16 weeks, but I suppose once you know what it feels like you might feel odd flickerings!

DD better today, but I feel like i've got razors in my throat, so off to bed now.

take care all
xx

J20BABYLOVESCHOCOLATEEGGS · 30/03/2007 10:13

hi everyone

fettle hope you feel better soon

honeyapple i thought i felt something a couple of weeks ago,but not felt anything lately

well girls, i'm setting off soon on my 4 hour drive to our weekend away, my dd is very very excited, she was up at 6.30 and is bouncing off the walls, but she's being very sweet and keeps kissing my belly she said this morning,'your going to be a really good mum to this baby' hmm what do i say to that?

anyway, hope you all have a good weekend and don't miss me too much

Mumpbump · 30/03/2007 10:32

Morning all! Hope everyone is doing well today...

Fettle - sorry to hear you're not feeling too good. Hope you improve before the weekend...

J20 - have a lovely weekend!

Feeling a bit subdued today after a night out and a dream about having another m/c. Fortunately, I think I felt the baby move again this morning so that was reassuring. Looking forward to the weekend with ds and lots of DIY!!

missnatalie · 30/03/2007 15:20

Hi Girls,

As were on the subject of baby movements i have to ask. Im 10 weeks today and have been feeling a kind of light bubbling sensation round where the baby is. Its only very faint but have felt it twice today. Could it be possible that im feeling the baby move . I know im still quite early but was just wonering as ive never felt anything like it before.
