AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH SHE JUST CALLED!! I just kind of laughed nervously and said ´have you read your emails?´ she said no so I said, well I just sent you one so go read it and call me back. ´Why is it something bad?´ and I just said, yeah well, dunno, kind of cringy really, call me back..

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH.

maveta · 16/03/2007 13:24

I WANT THE BALL BACK! I DON´T WANT IT IN HER COURT ANYMORE!!

nuttygirl · 16/03/2007 13:42

Hello everyone...I have caught up on the thread but then I started that bloomin' quiz and have forgotten everything I was gonna post about. Not impressed Ellie...my DH is doing it much quicker than me .

Maveta - hope you get things sorted with your boss. fingers crossed for you.

runnyhabbit · 16/03/2007 13:59

Have just left ds at his gp, having the time of his life, helping them in the garden and washing the car He was really badly constipated though, and had to hold him over the toilet (sorry tmi)
Mum made me a lovely cooked breakfast, so am going to stick a film on (and maybe sleep..)

Must ring dh and tell him NOT to call me unless its an emergency

maveta · 16/03/2007 14:02

Yay! That went well. She´s going to pay me a top up to the state pay - not loads but what I wanted and I think it´s fair, also with the previso that if start doing a lot of work i.e.more than just helping them out here and there on the phone or whatever, we can look at it again so she pays me more. But if I don´t do anything at all, she won´t pay me less IYSWIM.

Phew. Thank god that´s over.

weeonion · 16/03/2007 14:06

maveta - glad your worry wasnt justified and it has worked out ok!

WestCountryLass · 16/03/2007 14:07

I REALLY thought last night was 'it', after taking the kids to Jump I had loads of BHs and some red hot poker up the fanjo type ones too.

Having stayed up when my waters broke with Jemma and being knackered in labour, I went to bed to conserve energy and woke up this morning with big belly still intact

Today I feel as if baby could stay put another month know problem so Octo DO NOT count on me to be the first!!!! I am a great big let down

maveta · 16/03/2007 14:23

weeonion - I know, biiiiig phew! Also know what you mean about people being negative when they know it´s your first. Dh and I are both getting so tired of everyone´s horror stories about birth and the first few weeks, then the first few months etc etc. Yes we KNOW, yes we´ll want to DIE, yes we´ll barely be ALIVE for several months. Enough already! It´s going to happen so why go on and on about the negatives??!

WCL - it´s not just Octo..I´m so counting on you to be first too! Besides you´re having loads of at least vaguely end-of-pregnancy signs while I´m not even sure my bump has dropped (dh says it has but I don´t think so..is it really obvious when it happens?)

Less than a week til our last scan - can´t wait to see bubba again AAAANNND my sister is coming on thursday, am so excited about seeing her. And not just because she´s arriving with another load of baby gifts

1becomes3 · 16/03/2007 14:26

OK honest opinions, I want to see people honest reactions at the name DH and I have chosen if one dt is a boy.
After watching grand designs last night they went to see this bloke who had built his house and he had a 19 day old baby called "zed" and both DH and I looked at eachother and said "yes thats it", it was quite strange but for some reason the name just feel really right to the both of us.
So what do we think HONESTLY to "zed"

mammyjo · 16/03/2007 14:38

I like the name zed! Not one I think I have ever heard before but really modern and cute. I looked in the baby name book and its not even listed in there.

Maveta, glad everything went ok with your boss too.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 16/03/2007 15:40

Afternoon all.

WCL, still hanging on in there then!

Waspelly, I wondered where you had go to. You do sound well chilled out. Really glad you had a good time and hope you can remain as relaxed for as long as possible.

Maveta, well done for having the balls to speak to your manager about mat pay - as they say, if you don't ask, you don't get!

Runny, enjoy your nap!

1b3, being totally honest, not a name I would go for as it just sounds like a single letter Z iyswim. I am quite traditional though with names, so probably not a great judge.

I have been home from work since 1.00 and keep thinking I will have a nap before I pick B up from preschool at 5.00, but I just want to get everything done NOW!

Peed off to hear dh's flight back from France is later than he though, so it'll be me doing the dreaded bath/bed AGAIN. I know loads of you have this joy every night and I do not envy you one little bit.

Right, need to do something productive. xx

maveta · 16/03/2007 15:53

1b3.. I think it´s a wicked name, the only problem though is that it could be hard to ´match´ with other kids´ names like your dd and the other dt?? And also the same problem I sometimes think we could have. Our wee one is called Noah and I love the name, we liked it so much we decided to announce it as a done deal so people wouldn´t tell us if they liked it or not!! But sometimes I think it´ll be strange to have such a short name that you can´t really make a nickname out of. Would that bother you? (obviously it doesn´t bother me but just a thought).

1becomes3 · 16/03/2007 16:12

Thanks for your input, I just wanted to see the different ideas that people have about the name, my mum is very much like SOSPL and wants us to go for traditional names but with DD called frankie I don't really want to I feel it is unfair to her, plus the fact that I like being different.
My dad is more like maveta and has said we should use names that match, if it is 2 boy then I think we will go for Charlie and Eddie cause they work with DD name as well, but if it one of each then I think the boy name should be zed it is just so different and modern sounding and I love it.
If I'm having 2 girls we are stuck we have no idea's for names that would work with DD's name. I wouldn't want her feeling left out. IYKWIM.

1becomes3 · 16/03/2007 16:15

This is top secret information btw we haven't told anyone our ideas, we are just going to announce it on the day (or when we decied if it is 2 girls. Tbh i don't think it is)
so hush hush

maveta · 16/03/2007 16:19

Well if your dd is called Frankie then that works really well with Zed..and that would only leave you one name to find.. guess you´d better get going on the girls´names´ list! wow, how much harder thinking about 2??!

bubblez · 16/03/2007 16:30

Blasted sky broadband man took ages to change over my internet from virgin and then when he left it all went arse upwards anyway. Now Ive missed out on hours of convo grrrrr ....

No iron tablets here CD, just been told that I'm letting myself get to hot (aparently that causes the drop) and to take it easy.

Octo - I get breathless, my whole body trembles and shakes uncontrolably, I feel sick and dizzy, oh and sometimes I get white sparkles..... It's very scary and there is little that I can do to make it better other then cool myself down and try to relax.

octopussyintummy · 16/03/2007 16:32

I have a Ted - think Zed is mega cool. My friends sister has just called her baby Zethiniah - Zeth for short. Something like Izzie would be good to go with it for dtd.

I thinkits really sweet that your babes have different personailities inside

Picked up two very grumpy kids at 3.30 - dh taking them to park!

Went out for lunch with dh - lovely!

mammyjo · 16/03/2007 17:00

Agree with others that Zed goes really well with Frankie too. What a cool name for a little girl! My parents are traditional and wouldnt be happy with anything like that but the way I see it the names are up to me and dh. My mother is pissing me off at the moment anyway! Told my sister that I am stressed and a bit snappy - only snappy at her for bloody interfering continuously. AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH

octopussyintummy · 16/03/2007 17:15

Oh I forgot you don;t know what you are having 1B3 - is there def one boy? It has taken us 7 months to come up with one boys name - let alone 2 boys/2 girls/one of each - decisions decisions!!!

Have a pamper evening tonight - but need to go make tea first - so will see you all tomorrow - bring on the babies

doginsantasgrotto · 16/03/2007 17:20

Hi everyone
Have just returned from week's holiday in Somerset (home) where Mum's internet connection was down so it has taken me ages to catch up. Glad to see I haven't missed any real action though. MIABT - have a fab weekend. I hope everyone is alright considering.
I am due in 2.5 weeks and babe is 3/5 engaged (this time last week) so I feel like it is really close now and am so excited. Can't wait for us all to be sharing our news with each other.
As I am now on ML I will be catching up every day and so will go back and read properly now ... just wanted to let you all know I was around and send my love.

octopussyintummy · 16/03/2007 17:24

Hello dogins (((wave))) - 2 1/2 weeks

Katy44 · 16/03/2007 17:25

Hi everyone,
Just a very quick cath up - sorry to all the people I miss.
WCL - I have a funny feeling you will be first too!
maveta, glad you got the matrernity pay sorted out.
1b3 - I love Zed as a name, but do you think people will assume it's 'Zeb'? Just a thought?
dogin - welcome back.

We have people coming to look at the house tomorrow (people who liked it the first time - they've now got a buyer ) so am having a mad panic tidy. That includes packing up the laptop so probably won't be back until tomorrow afternoon.
Take care everyone and don't anyone have a baby while I'm gone!

liath · 16/03/2007 17:35

Hi folks, still in one piece here despite lots of tightenings. Been really busy & feeling really knackered & breathless so was relieved in a way to find I am anaemic so at least I've got an excuse .

Have tried to catch up but brain is a sieve! Am starting to wonder if we'll all just go into labour simultaneously and go en masse the the post natal thread ! Obviously we'll have to make it the 11th to tie in with 1b3's section......

WO, I hate it when people try to scare you (almost as much as the "oooh you're vast" comments, which came thick & fast at work today...Grrr) so to all the first timers - my labour was fine despite dd being back to back!

Bramshott · 16/03/2007 17:39

HASN'T ANYONE HAD A BABY YET?!? At this rate we will all still be intact on 1 April . . . !

Busy today as up to the hospital for blood tests as am on blood thinning injections (all fine, but bloody receptionist 'forgot' to give my notes to the doctor so I was sitting there for an hour before they realised - grrr!), then had a friend who is covering some of my projects for me when I am on ML here to go through it all, now waiting for DD's godfather to turn up, who is going to spend tomorrow helping DH shift the 4.5 tonnes of topsoil which is currently blocking our drive! DD is out with friends, so I can supervise the workers !!

weeonion · 16/03/2007 18:05

evening folks! it hs gotten so cold, grey and dark here - we are due snow on sunday - i cant wait but dont think ther'll be any sledging for me this year!

been to hospital for AND appt - went ok and i will literally be getting a huge ine=jection of progesterone as soon as i deliver and then starting on antidepressants the next day. relieved that the next stages of teh plan are underway! went round to say hi to MW - had an hour long chat with tea and cakes - really lovely. head down but no fifths engaged.

maybe after all the scares - the hormones have kicked in cause i feel clam, excited and cannot wait for this bubba to arrive. as the doom sayers keep reminding me - (like maveta says) - yes , i know my life will change - but you know what - i want it to and i want this baby so much!
