Definitely seemed like how it was described in my antinatal class! Managed to resist the lure of google and fall back asleep in the end. Back is still aching although it seems to be on and off. Just been to the toilet again and definitely still happening, with a piece about the size of a £2 coin (ahh again tmi - what would I do without this group!!)

I do remember the woman saying it can still be a week or so before you go into labour though, so I guess I just wait and see?!

savagehk · 30/04/2017 08:41

Yes ticky - the plug can regenerate itself too apparently although with your other symptoms it sounds promising :)

teainbed · 30/04/2017 08:46

Ooh @Tickyboovicki sounds like something is happening!

@lullaby23 they have a hand held device a bit like a thermometer to measure the jaundice but he's very yellow still including his eyes. This is relatively new here, DS1 and DD2 also had jaundice and they had bloods done to get the level.

@WishIWasSleeping we're 15+ days now so it's either true breast milk jaundice (no treatment, can last months) or super rare cause which I doubt as he's so well.

lullaby23 · 30/04/2017 09:33

Thanks wish & tea I didn't realise they could diagnose by eye or a little gadget! I'm assuming DS's must have gone by the time he had a paed check at 1 week old then.

I've reported that weird post it seems to have been put on the wrong thread...

WishIWasSleeping · 30/04/2017 09:51

Tea - Were 7 days today, and this time it's showing no signs of disappearing yet either! DDs had gone by now.
Nice to know I'll have more tests in store for the little one soon then! Hmm
I didn't realise the light meter was a new thing!

Lullaby - I also reported the post this morning.

I've been sent back to bed today whilst mum and DH look after the littles. I was discharged on iron but I'm constantly knackered! We did have a couple of hours out yesterday morning exploring DDs new nursery- so I think I overdid it a bit. Confused

lullaby23 · 30/04/2017 10:15

Take it easy wish glad you have some extra pairs of hands to help Smile

RasperryInAMelon · 30/04/2017 10:57

Haven't actually checked in since creating the new thread 🙈

DH and I went away for the night on Friday, pregnancy massage was lovely, sadly ruined by a terrible nights sleep in the most uncomfortable bed - but we're back home now and I slept pretty much straight through for 10 hours last night!!

Down side, my ankle has flared up again after the fall I had the other week - we ended up in the Urgent Care Centre yesterday and I've now been put on crutches! There go the rest of my Bank Holiday plans...

@dreamofhungarianlanterns I STILL haven't sorted anything to wear next weekend and thought I had a bandeau maxi dress but cannot find it for the life of me!! 😩

Difficult one on the wedding invite - I personally wouldn't be going without DP / DH - especially as he's the father of my recently born DC! Perhaps both just go along to the evening with baby?

@yellowismyfavourite that sounds very scary! I hope you're both doing ok now?

@ClaireSunflower - you're so right! They'll keep us worrying for life!

@Tickyboovicki sounds like it's your plug - is it mucusy?

OP posts:
Tickyboovicki · 30/04/2017 11:01

@raspberryinamelon yep definitely my plug. Just got to wait and see what happens now, as I know it doesn't mean it's gonna happen immediately!

Brightsmoke · 30/04/2017 11:02

Wow loads to catch up on!

Congratulations to everyone who's had a baby in the last 2 weeks! No signs of anything happening for me yet. My 'D'M had convinced me baby would be early, so now I'm 39+4, having expected baby around 34-36 weeks, I'm incredibly impatient now, and just want to meet him/her!

Went to the zoo (again!) yesterday for DHs birthday, was hoping the bumpy road train and all the walking would so something, nope! Then went out for a meal for MILs birthday, had some spicy food, and still nothing! Think I need to make baby less comfortable in there 😂

Hope everyone is having a lovely relaxing BH weekend :)

teainbed · 30/04/2017 11:35

Ouch @RasperryInAMelon that sounds painful! Rest up.

We've been to the hospital. They were very efficient and we were out within half an hour! I'd packed expecting a long wait and DH had taken the DC to a nearby park. Thankfully the bloods were just another heel prick rather than a venous sample and then I got to leave, and the doctor phoned me with the results. So it just is breast milk jaundice and nothing nastier and should resolve by 12 weeks. Bonus sit in the sunshine in the park with a cup of tea, felt almost normal!

teainbed · 30/04/2017 11:36

@WishIWasSleeping are you breastfeeding? How is BabyWish's weight doing?

MrsJW15 · 30/04/2017 11:55

Great news @teainbed, sounds very smooth.

@Tickyboovicki fingers crossed that means a baby for you soon!

I actually slept last night which was great! Feeling much better today. Constantly worried if baby is moving enough though. Sitting on my ball with my raspberry leaf tea now...

vanilla8 · 30/04/2017 11:58

Wishing everyone a nice bank holiday. Mentally I want to paint but physically can't.

Feel so tired today I may end up back in bed!

newbieho · 30/04/2017 11:58

Excellent news @teainbed what a relief!

Take care@RasperryInAMelon with the crutches, it sounds painful.

Badgerbird · 30/04/2017 12:57

yellow that must have been so scary!! What a shock. Glad all ok and they took you seriously.

sunflower glad little one is wiggling away in there, it's horrid isn't it :( we were in last week for same thing. Such a relief to see they're ok.

dream glad wedding went well Smile

I had a great time at friends 40th yesterday, lots of people I hadn't seen for years, lots of hugs :) We even stopped off in Camden at a street food stall we've wanted to try out for ages on the way in. DH suggested it to cheer me up after a totally shocking nights "sleep" and me getting upset at having to cancel other arrangements due to not sleeping in the night. Bless him. Was so nice to do something impromptu and not diy!

wish hope you are being looked after and resting today.

Ouch to your ankle raspberry!! Glad you had lovely massage though :)

Badgerbird · 30/04/2017 13:06

tea so pleased that went well :)

ticky that's exciting!! I wonder when it'll get going!? You seem pretty calm about it :)

vanilla when you gotta rest you gotta rest!

WishIWasSleeping · 30/04/2017 13:10

Tea - DS is BF and has dropped from 3800g to 3660g, so only about 3.5%, so I'm not yet particularly worried. Especially as DH has quite olive-y skin and tans very easily.

astormgivenflesh · 30/04/2017 13:29

So many babies being born! I'm feeling like a huge whale and every time I see a friend or family member they make jokes about how I SURELY CANT GET ANY BIGGER!?

Have never felt exhaustion like I'm feeling lately, I just can't get out of bed! I've been trying to write up PhD bits but it's going terribly as I can't remember anything and feel useless!

Husband and I have finally decided on a shortlist of baby names so hopefully daughter will pop out and we'll see her and just think 'oh, it's obviously *!'

I've been reading birth stories and I'm terrified about it all. Kept telling myself the bad ones were rare but haven't heard any good ones yet so I'm scared!

lullaby23 · 30/04/2017 13:32

tea good news glad you didn't have to hang around for long!

Sorry about your ankle still causing issues raspberry but glad you had a good catch up sleep and you mrsjw.

Sounds like a lovely party badger and hope you're feeling better after an extra day off work on Friday.

DH had a lie in this morning so I'm having one tomorrrow, will try not to wake up at 5am like I did on Saturday Confused

RasperryInAMelon · 30/04/2017 14:08

Question for those with experience... and forgive the TMI...

I've been quite 'wet' today, but not sure if it's trickling waters or watery discharge. It's clear / yellowish - not pee though (at least I don't think it is)..:

Worth calling the hospital?

OP posts:
Tickyboovicki · 30/04/2017 14:12

@Badgerbird ha my other half says he's surprising by how calm I've been throughout the whole pregnancy, might not last once labour actually starts! 😂

Off to the pub in a bit to watch the football (gunners fan - not me but the other half!), other halfs not drinking 'just incase'. I think he's more excited then I am!

raspberry it can't do any harm to ring if it will put your mind at ease!

Northernexile · 30/04/2017 14:16

Happy bank holiday weekend everyone- loads to catch up on this weekend!

Congratulations nurse15 - gorgeous photo and lovely to see a girl arrive on the thread at last!

Glad all is well with babies tea and yellow, and it sounds like you are doing really well getting out and about wish. I've only been out to the Doctors so far as I am still a bit sore from the cs. DH is taking the DDs out loads though and they're enjoying having him about so much. Baby northern is also apparently a touch jaundiced, but the midwife isn't concerned. He was back up to 6lb 7oz yesterday, so just 1oz off his birth weight at 8 days. I'm really pleased as he's exclusively bf so far, and it's reassuring to know the feeding is going as well as I feel it is.

Hope your ankle improves soon raspberry, and it does sound like things are on the move vicki! Glad you enjoyed the party and wedding badger and lanterns. Glad to hear all was ok with baby sunflower too.

beanturnipandspud · 30/04/2017 14:27

@RasperryInAMelon Thank you for the new thread 👍🏼😘
I too am wetter but I think mine is excess discharge. I haven't lost any mucus yet (nor do I want to for at least another 2weeks) and I lost mucus before waters with bean & turnip. Although they say third babies are wildcards. If you are concerned give midwives a ring. It's what they're there for 😘

@1004Rise this is my third time and I am positive it was never as hard as this with the other 2! But maybe that's because I have the other two running me ragged as well as growing spud?

@dreamofhungarianlanterns wedding sounds fab. 6 days until I'm bridesmaid for my lovely cousin, starting to get nervous now. It will be the first time I have walked down the aisle of this church since my own wedding, well I say walked I think I will be waddling by next Saturday 🙈

@Autumnsweater I'm aiming for a homebirth with a pool. However I think I may end up labouring in the pool but actually birthing on dry land. I've birthed both my other two on dry land, bean could have been a obem birth, strapped to bed and terrified throughout. Turnip active, on my birthing ball, all fours etc. Then when it came to pushing I flipped onto my back subconsciously. So I can't imagine pushing this one anywhere other than on my back, that must just work for me 😊
Immediate skin to skin being requested by me and I want to do the rubbing not midwives.

I think if I do end up birthing in the pool I will want to get out for placenta. Pass baby to DH, midwives help me out, DH passes baby back to me 👍🏼

@teainbed I love the picture of you in the park in the sun 💙

@yellowismyfavourite sounds like you had a scary day yesterday, hope you are feeling more relaxed today 💛😘

@ClaireSunflower reduced movements are scary. I hope baby is being more active today for you.

@Tickyboovicki sounds like something could be happening for you. Try and stay relaxed as excitement can cause labour to stall! 🙈

I can't function today, I am short tempered with dull back ache and BH that are getting quite strong although not painful. I have told DH that I am sitting doing nothing as I can't have this baby yet so trying my best to keep him in. I just want to get the wedding over & done with and then baby can arrive but until then he needs to stay cooking (36+3 today)

vanilla8 · 30/04/2017 14:58

@RasperryInAMelon I've had increased discharge/watery leakage last day or so, keep going to toilet to check. I think we are due same day.

I had a nap and now feel much better and roast beef in the oven

CoxsOrangePippin · 30/04/2017 15:00

DH has just picked up the wooden side-sleeper crib I bought second hand - sprog is quite an eco-baby so far, only new things we've bought are the car seat and a pack of baby bundlers! (Will buy a new mattress too obvs)
