Lots of luck with the induction dream and glad you are back home rise.

beanturnipandspud · 16/05/2017 06:18

Hello all, sorry not updated for a couple of days .... I have been reading.

Congrats to all the new mummies 💙💕💙💕 hope you are all doing great.

Spud and I are still as one .... 38+5 today 👶🏼 not sure where this pregnancy has gone. It seems to have flown by.

@EsmesBees the move isn't going great, went to exchange yesterday and the people we are buying off have now decided they won't move out until 23rd June 😮 yet the people buying ours need us to be out next weds (day before edd), so currently trying to work out how not to be homeless without losing the sale of our house. Hoping spud makes an appearance in the next couple of days as I really want this homebirth..,, which won't happen if we don't have a home 😪😤

Been awake some 3.50, really uncomfortable, need the loo every 20mins and my brain is in overdrive with houses etc.

Today , as turnip is at preschool all day, I have a pregnancy massage booked, quick trip in to work as I left before saying bye, a lunch date with a pregnant friend and hoping for some better news with the house move!

Anyway, I hope you ladies are all ok. And good luck to any inductions today 😘

teainbed · 16/05/2017 06:37

@beanturnipandspud wow that sounds very stressful. Fingers crossed you get it sorted.

Been up since 3.30am with BabyTea, gave up at 6 and came downstairs for tea and toast. DC are at school so hopefully I can nap a bit later. Brew

Tickyboovicki · 16/05/2017 08:22

@beanturnipandspud wow what a palava! Any idea why they now won't go until June? Fingers crossed you get it sorted!

EsmesBees · 16/05/2017 08:47

That's awful bean. Moving is so stressful, without the added baby deadline. Presumably they know you are just about to have a baby? Will the chain collapse if you too refuse to move?

I've also been up since the early hours. I had my antenatal HV visit yesterday and I've been fretting about a comment she made about my recent bereavement making it more likely that I'd get post natal depression and that she'd need to keep an eye on me. Which I suspect is true, and good to have someone aware, it just made me feel sad again.

But in better news, first day of maternity leave so treating myself to breakfast out that I won't have to share with a toddler!!

Good luck with the induction dream. Hope you get a chance to nap today tea, and well impressed with the furniture assembly rustler.

Barnes79 · 16/05/2017 09:32

Bean that sounds so stressful! On the plus side, if your buyers need to move out before your EDD I can't see them pulling out of the purchase if you can't move out before end of June as they'd just be homeless for even longer whilst trying to buy somewhere else. Get your solicitor and estate agents to lay it on thick about your pregnancy - they'd have to be pretty heartless to make you move before your new house is free.

Another fun day yesterday of false labour - a few hours of it in the morning and then a couple of hours last night/ this morning meaning I didn't get to sleep until after 2am. The sad thing is it didn't even get my hopes up that it could be the real thing. And why does every contraction make you feel as if you're about to pee yourself???? ConfusedBlush

WishIWasSleeping · 16/05/2017 10:20

I left baby in the cot next to the bed for loo and food trips but in the nursery when I showered this time around.
With DD last year I put her in the nursery the first time I peed as I didn't know how long it would take me! - but just left her next to the bed with the curtains drawn to pee every other time. I showered at home as got discharged the next day.
There should be a nursery (little room) next to the nurses station in the hospitals and all the midwives look in on babies.

The doors to our ward are all controlled and you arnt allowed to take the cots out anyway so I felt quite safe.
I actually asked when we were in if I could wander down to the ground floor (same building) to visit my friend who had come in for an ultrasound - I was told I could go but baby couldn't. Not sure what they thought I was going to do! Grin
And I think they make you keep baby in cot in case of any unexpected complications. I fainted about 10 hours after birth after walking from one side of the bed to another. If I'd had been carrying DS around he would have ended up on the floor without a doubt. Plus it's really quite reassuring to lean on the cots for your first couple of walks to make sure you remember how to balance on your new bambi legs! Grin I got up and wandered to the day room and back a few times for cups of teaBrew and found it helped to try and reduce my ever present waddle!

savagehk · 16/05/2017 10:44

wish did baby have an anti theft tag? Mine did last time (around ankle)

lullaby23 · 16/05/2017 11:57

DS and I had tags that would play a tune when they were put together to ensure the right baby was there. Cute idea but kept setting it off by accident!

MrsJW15 · 16/05/2017 12:09

@lullaby23 that sounds annoying! But clever idea.

Couldn't sleep last night so overslept this morning which won't help with sleep tonight! Yesterday I was sure something was happening yesterday but no more signs today.

WishIWasSleeping · 16/05/2017 12:13

Nope. Just normal little ID tags.
Suppose if they wanted too someone could have popped him under their jumper and attempted to get out of the building...

FoxMulder · 16/05/2017 12:45

This made me laugh when bringing DS home from hospital.

@1004Rise I never thought my boobs can be that big..,the baby is feeding often and breasts responded quickly. Day 2 and the proper milk is already there.

Good luck @Rustler74 what did your parents think of crumpets?

Godness me @beanturnipandspud the house situation must be very stressful. Sending you a lot of hugs hopefully all goes well

Baby newbie waves at baby @teainbed It looks like 3 - 3.30 am is the best time for baby newbie for massive nappy explosion, good bit of a cry and a feed.

Hugs for @EsmesBees It is not easy but good to hear you are getting support.

Please don't even mention wetting yourself @Barnes79 While in labour I told the midwife that I either wet myself or my waters have broken. Both statements were correct

@lullaby23 Interesting idea about tags playing tunes. Have not seen it before.

@FoxMulder 😂

We are still stuck on postnatal ward (full to the brim). I am desperate to go home and started googling newborn self - discharge. In the meantime posting the photo of a little one

MrsJW15 · 16/05/2017 13:36

@FoxMulder

Gorgeous @newbieho! Hope you are able to go home soon.

Badgerbird · 16/05/2017 14:27

bean that sounds ridiculously stressful!! I really hope it all works out how you'd like.

esme glad they are looking out for you, understandable you'd feel upset. Is counselling helping? Hope you enjoyed your leisurely brekkie :)

barnes your body is giving you a run for your money isn't it! I guess try and rest as much as you can so when the real thing kicks in you have some energy left.

rustler hope parents liked the crumpets and good luck with flat pack Confused

I have officially turned into one of those crazy hormone addled preggo women who cries at everything Blush

lullaby23 · 16/05/2017 15:07

Lovely photo newbie 😍

BouncingBlueberry · 16/05/2017 15:12

@newbieho beautiful photo. If I wasn't already walking like John Wayne after that stretch and sweep I definitely am now. Flipping heck.

FoxMulder · 16/05/2017 15:19

Gorgeous photo newbie. Hope you get out soon. What's the hold up?

I am getting an influx of messages today asking where the baby is today, including my first "still here?" which I always think is a weird thing to say.

teainbed · 16/05/2017 16:03

Are lots of people in labour today? Hope everyone is doing ok. Smile

We managed a nap. Yes 3.30am is perfect timing for a feed and a scream! And it's light by 4.30am up here which is crazy.

CoxsOrangePippin · 16/05/2017 16:16

teainbed I wish! My EDD and not even a twinge...

MrsJW15 · 16/05/2017 16:30

@FoxMulder the messages are driving me mad! I'm unlikely to forget to tell mum I've had the baby Angry

savagehk · 16/05/2017 16:34

I get "still with us". Err, yes. Clearly.
And no, I've not forgotten to tell you the baby has arrived.

newbieho · 16/05/2017 16:44

We are being discharged from the postnatal ward 😀😀😀 Cannot wait to get home

beanturnipandspud · 16/05/2017 17:01

Thank you @newbieho @teainbed, @Tickyboovicki the current vendors have blamed there sons GCSE's, which I understand, just wish they would have told us. @EsmesBees yes they know about baby, they also knew we wanted to move in April and the delays have all been down to them and their solicitors. Unfortunately we are the third transaction in the chain, and if we don't complete on the sale of ours the first in the chain have said they will have no choice but to back out as they have given notice to their landlords. 😮 as for the recent bereavement and more likely to get pnd ... personally I wouldn't listen to her (I know easier said than done) .... I lost my kid brother when I was 19wk pregnant with Turnip. My dad also has bipolar and my mum has been on anti depressants for my whole life .... I never suffered with pnd .... I find getting out with the baby in a pram or sling every day keeps you happy. There's something about nature that makes me happy anyway. And support .... you need support. Whether that be from your girlfriends, a local mum group, family or your partner, take all the support you can get.. and of course us here ... we will be here for you too 😘

Pregnancy massage this morning was amazing ... I have had on off pains all day and hoping this means spud want to meet us tonight. First I need a nap as I am exhausted from being up so bloody early this morning.

PeachIcedT · 16/05/2017 17:23

Good luck with the induction @dreamofhungarianlanterns , I imagine you're well underway by now. Exciting!

Great news you are home now @1004Rise and great you're being discharged now @newbieho , it must be wonderful when you can all be home as a family

Argh the move sounds so stressful @beanturnipandspud , I remember when I moved from rented to purchase we had an extremely tight change around time but that was not whilst pregnant, so I feel for you. I think your massage must be very well timed!

I decided to venture out to do a decent walk with my mum, felt fine (my mum said I was walking faster than her Confused) but stupid me took shoes that shredded my feet so had to cut it short. Signs of labour = zero currently, let's see if the sweep does anything tomorrow.
