Time for another thread! What a chatty bunch.

We should get a spreadsheet set up that's an open shared document so we can all update it. I'll see what I can do but currently without a laptop!

Just remembered I have a chocolate bar in my desk drawer!!!!!! I had to share the excitement

Mrsbluebell17 · 25/04/2017 14:59

I'm another SW'er but usually just do it from home. Having said that, since 1st April I've eaten absolutely terribly!!!

I also caved today and POAS - thankfully a nice dark line.

Hey everyone!! So I had my first proper 'almost' vomiting incident this morning!
I was eating a brioche bun for breaky in the car on the way to work and just started heaving and retching, felt all dizzy too and like I was going to vomit. Pulled over for a few minutes and then was ok enough to keep driving.
I've also got some mild cramping after not having any for over a week which is worrying me slightly. I just want for it to be Monday, and to have my scan and see a heartbeat. I'm so anxious atm.

Bisquick · 25/04/2017 15:16

Can I just cautiously, nervously join in?
I'm 5W + 3D according to my calculations. And due late December. But given my obstetric history I'm likely to have an induction or ELCS in late November.

This is my second pregnancy, but sadly we had a stillbirth at term in January.

We're still coping with the loss, and trying to stay hopeful about this baby, although I'm incredibly nervous and anxious. Have a viability scan booked in at 7W.

I also really don't want to mention the pregnancy to any friends or anyone other than parents and siblings. So would be nice just to be able to talk about it with others.

Trying to tell myself this is a new pregnancy and I should relax and enjoy it. Having a bit of nausea every evening at around 4-5ish. Hope everyone else is doing well!

Mrsbluebell17 · 25/04/2017 15:36

Hi bisquik. I'm so so sorry to hear about your loss in January but wanted to wish you a happy and healthy journey for your pregnancy. Flowers

MaryShelley1818 · 25/04/2017 15:43

I'm so sorry Bisquick xx

Foxglove88 · 25/04/2017 15:53

Hi everyone!!
Wow, these threads move fast. I hope everyone is (as) OK (as they can be!)

I have an early scan booked in for tomorrow!! I caved. Twelve weeks is far too long to wait, considering I don't want to tell anyone until I've had a scan. My mum also seems to be on the verge of guessing something's up!
Looking at my charts, my cycles are usually somewhere between 33 and 35 days. I reckon tomorrow I will be somewhere between 7+5 and 8+5.
Yesterday I was a bit worried, like you Marie, that my symptoms were waning. I didn't really have much sickness. Well today it has come back in style, all guns blazing!
biginjapan I really have my fingers crossed for you. Would you still be having symptoms this strong if you were out? I hope you get some good news tomorrow.

Foxglove88 · 25/04/2017 15:54

doctor YES to the nosebleeds. I've had one every single morning for the past couple of weeks. It happens first thing when I wake up and it's getting really boring.

leighdinglady · 25/04/2017 15:55

So sorry bisquick. How devestating. I'll keep everything crossed for you x

Peachi82 · 25/04/2017 16:08

Thanks for welcoming me.
I wouldn't even know how to get a doctor's or midwife appointment :-(
I am registered with my GP, but I've never been to see a doctor. They have a weird policy anyway, only giving out appointments for the day when you call in the morning. I tried this week, because I'm off work, so I called from 8 onwards and the line was always busy. By 8:45 there was an answering machine that all appointments for the day are gone.
I really don't know how to organise it?! I can't book days off work hoping I'll get an appointment for the day?! This might work if you're home anyway due to being ill, but I am not ill.
I really wanted to talk to the doctor, because I am on thyroxine and I read it needs to be adjusted very early in your pregnancy to avoid miscarriage. Gnah. So fed up :-D

Rant over.

Lixon · 25/04/2017 16:09

So sorry Bisquik, I can only imagine how devastating that must have been. I hope you have lots of support medically this time round and can understand not wanting to share news. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly this time round.

I had my booking in and bloods taken today and it was surprisingly emotional. The midwives are amazing, I was seen by a more senior one today who was aware of all my history and really checked my anxiety levels etc. She hugged me when I left and I burst into tears! I have been automatically referred to higher risk midwife team (which was an optional before) and I got to have a conversation with the screening midwife about whether to have a cvs.

I was given my 12 week scan date as 6 June but basically broke down when they said I could only have cvs after that (I had understood it would be at 11w), so they were also super nice and will try and rearrange my scan for me to the previous week.

I still need to discuss various testing options with dh but think I might need to pick cvs due to anxiety, provided I get the same consultant as before who was amazing and has never previously caused a miscarriage..

Lixon · 25/04/2017 16:14

Peachi that's really annoying! can you call the surgery to see if you can get hold of a receptionist to discuss/find out procedure? It varies everywhere and in some places you can self refer to a midwife without seeing a gp. You might be able to get a blood test form over the phone as well (my surgery definitely would).

I have heard that it's worth upping your levothyroxine dose by 25mg as soon as you find out you're pregnant if you feel comfortable doing so/you have tablets that facilitate this as overdose is low risk but insufficient can contribute to miscarriage. You should still get blood tested asap though. Mine is increased by 25/50g alternate days.

Peachi82 · 25/04/2017 16:21

I'm back to home next week Tuesday and will just pop round the surgery and ask what to do. After giving out the morning appointments they only have the answering machine with saying it's fully booked for the day, no possibility to get in touch with a receptionist...
We just bought a house though, hoping to complete middle of July, so hopefully the new surgery has a bit of a better policy.

I have enough thyroxine and could probably pinch some of my mum as well, but not really sure if I should :-( I'm sure an overdose wouldn't be too good for the baby either. I'm currently on 75, so taking am additional 25 seems quite a lot to me. All my last blood tests came back as normal.

Lixon · 25/04/2017 16:35

Were your last blood tests pre-pregnancy? Hopefully you can get an appointment next week but maybe do some reading beforehand so you're prepared - sometimes doctors can be funny/ill informed on this apparently. My early blood tests in my second pregnancy last year showed even my usual dose needed to more than double so I've just done the same since and will get my new results next week.

I have s couple of good links from a previous pregnancy group that I'll try and dig out but there's quite a lot online about most women needing an increase and (according to my gp at least) there is little risk from 25g too much so I was told to err on side of caution. But definitely best to discuss with your doctor who knows your history etc.

Peachi82 · 25/04/2017 16:41

Thank you, Lixon.
I have a read and hope I can speak to a doctor next week.
Luckily I had my last blood test early March, so it's pretty up to date and pre pregnancy :-)

Chamonix1 · 25/04/2017 17:25

Today has been the worst. Up since 3. Exhausted and nauseas. In the evenings it's worse and I get all hot with freezing hands and feet.
Finding it hard today. I'm such a wimp.

MaryShelley1818 · 25/04/2017 18:29

Oh no Chamonix, that's rough. I felt pretty poorly this morning but still haven't actually vomited yet.
Mine gets worse from now, during the night, I feel better when I furst get up but then feel ill again until after digesting breakfast.

Angielka · 25/04/2017 18:31

You're not a wimp Cham I know how you feel!

Scan all good - baby right size, heart beating, wriggling around like mad! After the bleeding on Sunday it's a huge relief. And my lovely doc gave me the rest of the week off AND told me not to worry about what I'm eating so I'm sat in a macdonalds having demolished a Big Mac meal Blush

Mrsbluebell17 · 25/04/2017 18:46

Ang that's great news. How far along are you?

My scan is at 7+2 and I am wondering what I should expect to see. Can anyone help?

glastogal · 25/04/2017 18:48

Fantastic news angielka!! What a relief - and hooray for time off!!

Carlotta82248 · 25/04/2017 18:50

Turning down home made chilli and rice in favour of spaghetti and sausages from a tin on toast, not feeling tip top today!

glastogal · 25/04/2017 18:57

I'm having rice pudding for dinner 😁

leighdinglady · 25/04/2017 19:05

Chippy tea for me!

JCHatchling · 25/04/2017 19:05

bluebell this is my 6+6 scan, so nice to see heartbeat!

ang I just had a MacDonald too after vowing to be healthier this week!

bisquick I can't imagine how painful your lose is. Wishing you a happy and exciting pregnancy!

JCHatchling · 25/04/2017 19:08

peachi hope you get your blood test soon! Found out after 5 weeks my TSH had shot up and went from 25g to 50g, really made me worry but was all good at scan!
