Time for another thread! What a chatty bunch.

We should get a spreadsheet set up that's an open shared document so we can all update it. I'll see what I can do but currently without a laptop!

We are going on holiday next week and I have insurance through my bank. Does anyone know if I would need to tell them about my pregnancy?

biginjapan · 25/04/2017 09:24

Thanks everyone - scan is actually tomorrow morning.

60percentbanana · 25/04/2017 09:35

Thewine I'd imagine so. We went to the US using bank insurance and disclosed our pre-existing conditions. They were still happy to cover us and said it didn't matter but I think for the sake of a phone call it's better to have that confirmed than be abroad and find you've got to pay out of pocket if something goes wrong.

In other news I'm now past the point where I had my mc last time, so I'm feeling much more hopeful. Hope everyone else is ok xx

60percentbanana · 25/04/2017 09:37

As for diet, I've never done slimming world but I'm doing weight watchers with a view to maintain for the first half of the pregnancy if I can. It's not officially allowed but I can't see what harm it can do, and hopefully it will save me from spd this time.

FeedMyFaceWithBattenberg · 25/04/2017 09:55

Does cleaning your teeth make anyone else sick? Two mornings in a row now, cleaning my teeth has turned my nausea into vomiting! 🤢
Hopefully I will survive the car journey to the airport, in the car next to my lovely nephew though he hasn't slept all night and hates the car as a rule so that'll be fun!
Don't usually get sick on flights (I love flying!!) but there's a first time for everything I guess... 😬

Massive huge luck to those with scans to today. Thinking of you Flowers

My obligatory opk and hcg tests

Good luck for tomorrow Japan Flowers

I'm having a bit of a panic this morning as a lot of my symptoms seem to have disappeared yesterday and today. No nausea, boobs aren't as sore, i had loads of energy yesterday, and I demolished a full curry for dinner last night with no side effects! I know symptoms can fluctuate but I'm really panicking that its a sign something has gone wrong.

Massive neurotic head over here!! BlushBlush

leighdinglady · 25/04/2017 10:11

You'll be fine Marie. They'll probably come back in a day or two. If not call you EPU and pester them for a scan

DoctorDonnaNoble · 25/04/2017 10:13

Anyone else getting nosebleeds

Marie90 · 25/04/2017 10:13

leighding can i pester when there's no bleeding? It's my first pg so not sure if they would just blow me off?!

leighdinglady · 25/04/2017 10:25

Tell them you've got cramps... (I know this isn't very honest, but I'd do it!)

fishfingerSarnies · 25/04/2017 11:33

Another nice positive OPK. lol I've got enough to go on for a few weeks!

Wow I came here cos the old thread just got full and there are 163 messages already! Currently on the plane to LA. Love that there's wifi! Still feeling ok here phew!

leighdinglady · 25/04/2017 12:30

Oooh fishfinger you have good taste in tiles. We've just had our kitchen done with those floor tiles, but the ice blue version

Lixon · 25/04/2017 12:44

I am doctor donna, well more blood when I blow my nose vs full on dripping. I remember googling it in a previous pregnancy and think it's quite common. Also lots of pins and needles!

Marie it's very common for symptoms to come and go so would try to relax for a few more days and see how you feel if you can. My EPU don't let you self refer and you might want to save a visit for if you do get bad cramps later on, for example. Now I've had one scan I'm unlikely to get another without severe bleeding etc. By this time in my previous pregnancies my boobs were v sore and massive and there's hardly been any change this time round, but I keep telling myself every pregnancy is different even for individuals as much as it freaks me out..

Mrsbluebell17 · 25/04/2017 12:50

Afternoon everyone

Good luck for your scan tomorrow biginjapan

Also, Marie I was coming online just now to post the same sort of message about me being symptomless today and being worried. Keep getting a small pain around lower abdomen but it doesn't last.
Got my private early scan in a few days and am so nervous something will be wrong. HmmConfused

Zaberwocky · 25/04/2017 12:50

Angry now the blasted tablets won't stay down to stop the puking.

I'm sitting by the front door trying to coax myself into going back to work Grin

Lixon · 25/04/2017 12:52

Haha, we had those exact floor tiles in our old bathroom too! Excellent taste all round..

Marie90 · 25/04/2017 13:20

Thanks Lixon, I've got my midwife appointment next Tues so hopefully i can talk to her then and she can help put my mind at ease. I just have nothing to compare this pregnancy too so finding myself googling but every little thing.... Not the most productive way to spend the day!

And Bluebell I'm sorry you're worrying with the same thing! You never know... This time tomorrow we may have our heads down the loo and tbh i think I'd feel a bit more reassured!!

Ducks and runs for cover from everyone suffering with horrendous morning sickness!

MontyPants · 25/04/2017 13:45

To all those worried about symptoms/lack of symptoms: this is my first pg so I have nothing to compare it to either, but I've been consulting the ladies at work (I'm surrounded by ladies with lots of kids). Apparently the pains that feel like period cramps are "stretching pains" (not sure if this is the medical term). So that made me feel a lot better. They come and go. I'm 8+1 now and my symptoms are fading a bit. Less nausea. There's no reason so suggest that any of us are going to mc, and if we do that's because it wasn't meant to be this time. I hope that helps (and it isn't meant to sound patronising), it's just what's getting me through. It feels a million times better now I've told people I'm expecting anyway.

Mrsbluebell17 · 25/04/2017 13:50

Thanks Marie and monty.
I think it's because it's my first and I'm so desperate for everything to be ok that I'm worrying myself about it too.

Marie90 · 25/04/2017 14:03

Thank you Monty, I promised myself that i wouldn't turn into a paranoid mess but this baby is so wanted that i didn't realise how invested I'd feel so early on! It helps to have a voice of reason though Smile

MontyPants · 25/04/2017 14:35

I'm off to Tesco to stock up on snacks (the baby wants them). I'm thinking some chocolate shortbread to have with a decaf coffee later...... I don't want dinner, I just want to eat crap. The midwife is so gonna yell at me 🙈

glastogal · 25/04/2017 14:36

Just watched last week's OBEM.. I'm a wreck!!

glastogal · 25/04/2017 14:39

My baby seems to want crap too.. I'm cutting him off though (yes, I've decided it's a boy!) and rejoining slimming world tonight after a few weeks off. The gain won't be pretty but I need to face it and get myself back on track. I know I'm gonna gain weight but if I carry on like I am it will be many many stones!!!
