Time for another thread! What a chatty bunch.

We should get a spreadsheet set up that's an open shared document so we can all update it. I'll see what I can do but currently without a laptop!

I was feeling better for a few days there; even managed a lovely meal out yesterday

Today I've had a ham sandwich, nausea and eventually vomiting

Oh, and I've to travel two hours to Dublin airport tomorrow and then a flight to Prague for a sightseeing city break until Wednesday

I've been so excited for this - now I'm dreading it and wishing my friend and I had taken it in turns to drive down. Public transport and morning sickness don't go hand in hand 😭

ScotsLamb · 29/04/2017 20:20

Newbie! 5 weeks and 5 days with our first baby due Christmas Day. We live in Scotland.

Current symptoms of lack of sleep, very thirsty so therefore hardly away from the loo, very tender boobs, loose stools in the morning and still not quite believing it.

First midwife appointment on Friday and trying to subtly work out MILs pregnancy details with my other half as she was on bed rest for the last month.

Smile

**hi ladies I've just seen this on groupon if any of you are London ish based. Early scan £39 x https://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/ultrasound-scanning-services

Mumoftheark · 29/04/2017 20:29

And if you use the code New15 you'll get an extra £5 something off woo hoo

Mumoftheark · 29/04/2017 20:30

Another one in Hatfield www.groupon.co.uk/deals/womb-with-a-view-ltd-2

Mumoftheark · 29/04/2017 20:53

Wow @bluebell how do you feel about twins? It's unlikely that she has Miss seen them to be honest. Usually when it's early they like you to come back in a few weeks as vanishing twin syndrome is very common before 12 weeks so they tend not to confirm twins as early as 7ish weeks. I only know because I had this with my last pregnancy and my friend is a sonograher so told me how it works. Identical twins would be amazing, I would love to have twins what a blessing. I'm excited - it's going to be a long 2 weeks for you isn't it

Oysterbabe · 29/04/2017 21:23

Urgh I've completely gone off meat or anything wet. This is exactly what happened last time but it's kicked in a few weeks earlier this time. Do you think you feel the symptoms more second time round? This the start of the toast based diet.

DiveItLikeYouStoleIt · 29/04/2017 21:32

Hi @Beansy30, fellow Scot here.
Christmas Day baby! How exciting!
I've been told I won't even get my booking appointment until 13 or so weeks... seems very far away.
Am interested in the whole early scan thing, didn't really know they were a thing with my first 2 but now I know I desperately want one. Would I just google early scan places in scotland or go via the private hospitals? Help!
Congratulations to all those who got to see their babies for the first time today too, such a lovely Moment.

DiveItLikeYouStoleIt · 29/04/2017 21:33

Just saw the posts about groupon things too, should I search there too? Do they do early scan deals often? Never seen one in my area before...

Mumoftheark · 29/04/2017 21:52

I have seen scan deals pop up on groupon fairly regularly. If you go on the groupon in your local area and search baby scans it's worth seeing if there's any local deals.
I had an early scan with my 2nd and it was £100 🙈 much prefer to pay £33

Mumoftheark · 29/04/2017 21:54

@DiveItLikeYouStoleIt have a look at www.babyscanning.co.uk they have offers on around Scotland, otherwise yes just google pregnancy scans in your area xx

Romeolovesjuliet · 29/04/2017 21:56

Totally gatecrashing to say congratulations to oysterbabe - I recognise you from the Jan 16 bus (I was on it pre Brexit fall out!). Always lovely to see the siblings appearing, hope your DD is well 😊.

Oysterbabe · 29/04/2017 22:06

Thanks Romeo Smile
I hope all is well with you and yours too!

Oysterbabe · 29/04/2017 22:09

BTW, 8 of us are preggers again from the Jan 2016 bus! So excited about the next round of babies.

DiveItLikeYouStoleIt · 29/04/2017 22:23

Thanks @Mumoftheark will have a look!
Anyone else eating through the morning sickness?

Romeolovesjuliet · 29/04/2017 22:36

Ooooh that is exciting!! I'm still so broody but we agreed to stop at 3 and it's the right decision for many reasons. Still very much enjoy hearing other's happy news though - nice to hear you still have a good group going.

biginjapan · 29/04/2017 22:41

For Scottish folk, I'm booked with abc4d for a reassurance scan - it's £51 and they have clinics in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Mrsbluebell17 · 29/04/2017 23:03

Good luck for tomorrow henman.

Mumoftheark* yes I thought that might be the case? That she had definitely seen them but I did read about the vanishing twin thing so we'll see what happens. Also, she thinks they are mono-mono if they are which from what I've read could add complications. So trying not to get too excited for now, although it's really flippin exciting!!!! Grin

Carlotta82248 · 30/04/2017 07:45

Survived the wedding, just told my friends, couldn't be bothered with the pretence and they know I've been trying. They were all over the moon Smile

looby1304 · 30/04/2017 07:48

I woke up feeling good this morning, then as soon as I made breakfast the nausea set in. I forced down some spaghetti hoops on toast (just what i thought I fancied!) because I didn't manage any dinner last night. Now I feel terrible again. Is anyone else struggling with nausea after/when eating but not actually being sick? Part of my just wants to be sick in the hope it makes me feel a bit better!

I've got my early scan today, then we're going to tell our parents today and tomorrow. I just hope OHs mum understands why I can't eat her huge roast dinner she'll likely prepare!

Mrsbluebell17 · 30/04/2017 07:52

Hey carlotta that's great news Grin hope you had fun at the wedding.

Mrsbluebell17 · 30/04/2017 07:53

Sorry to hear you're feeling unwell looby. Hope your early scan goes well today. How far along are you? Enjoy telling your families.

GadgetgirlUk · 30/04/2017 07:55

Good luck today @looby with scan and gigantic roast!! X

Miami81 · 30/04/2017 08:10

Hi another newbie here
I am 5 + 5 (I think), due on 26th December.
This is our third pregnancy but unfortunately had two mc's through 2016, hoping 2017 is our year. I am incredibly nervous but really just want it all to move on so that I can know whether I can get excited or not.
Also living in Scotland, have a scan booked for 9 weeks (my mc were before that point).
My booking in appointment is the same day and I have a question, do I need to know MIL history as @Beansy30 suggests? I thought it was pretty irrelevant and all they looked into was maternal history? Thanks for your help and hoping I get to stick around with you ladies for a full pregnancy.
