Pain means progress, I like it! Will keep my eye out for a regular pattern but at the moment they are about 7 hours apart, think I have a way to go 😂

DH is bringing a fan home from work for tonight and I've ordered one to collect from Tesco tomorrow. I'm currently in my underwear laying on the bed like a 🐳

I had my toes done last week. Got pink with some glitter on my big toe. Had my eyebrows and lashes done today so I don't look so disgusting without any make up on!

@LuciBee231015 I'm also in my pants and bra feeling 🐳. Fan on full speed!

Thank you so much ladies 💐 I feel like I'm being so overdramatic but it really has turned our little world upside down. They were helpful at the embassy although nothing official can be done from here - he has to go all the way to Abu Dhabi (it's a 140km drive from where we live in Dubai) to submit his documents etc. They did give us another glimmer of hope on top of the knee surgeries tactic - apparently foreign wives are frowned upon and not usually permitted in the military, so he will give them a copy of our marriage certificate and my passport when he goes to register and hopefully they might disqualify him on the grounds that I could be a double agent 🕵🏻‍♀️😂

So there is something positive to pray for, and fingers crossed he'll be able to get things clearer either way in the next few days. Then we can deal with whatever the outcome - the unknown part is the most unsettling right now. But I know I'll be bawling my eyes out tonight when he leaves for the airport anyway 😭💔

@glitterglitters the compulsory military service for 18-30s has only been introduced in the past 2 years, so there's still not a huge precedent to refer to in terms of the knock-on effect to careers and family lives etc... Luckily when DH signed for his new team last summer he insisted on a clause in his contract whereby he would still receive his full salary from the club, plus his contract would automatically get extended by a year upon being called up for military service. So that's a wonderful thing for us to have that security - many other families wouldn't.

@LuciBee231015 Oh so jealous of you having your lashes done! Do you get extensions or just tinting? I always used to get extensions but suddenly developed a violent allergic reaction to them (specifically the glue they use) during pregnancy and I've felt so naked without them all these months 😅 Hoping the allergy clears up once baby is here because I really hate having to wear mascara.

I'm due 29th July so just a few days ahead of you - also anticipating baby will show up a bit earlier than that though.

Sorry to hear you've had a difficult pregnancy... Almost in the home stretch now so hopefully you won't have to deal with any more suffering soon enough!

Fingers crossed you can get the move sorted sooner rather than later too, as that will help you feel more settled and you'll get to properly nest. You're not the only one on the thread with a move looming; there's a few of us, so we can all offer moral support. DH and I are supposed to be out of our apartment and in our new villa by 20th August, but if he does indeed go to his military service on 1st Aug for 45 days that will throw yet another huge spanner in the works. I guess it would mean I'd need to return to Dubai sooner than planned and get the move done by myself, with baby in tow 😥

Butterfly yes I have the individual eyelash extensions and I have HD Brows. Just makes me feel a little more presentable, especially if I have no make up on!

Oh @ButterflyFree that's good about the contract. Savvy dh! Fingers crossed that it all goes well, all sounding promising but we've all got our fingers crossed.

I'm on the (leather) sofa in my pants and a strap of cami dress.

Brows we're done last week and I'm feeling "prepared" now.

I used to love having my eyelashes done but on my honeymoon I had a massage and they rubbed my eyes. My eyes swelled shut and I couldn't get the lashes off. I spent two days hiding in the hotel room watching Adventure Time and eating room service.

Not my finest hour

I've just had an hour of regular Braxton hicks every 10-12 mins, not painful or anything just bump going very tight and feeling lots of pressure down below. Last one was about 30 mins ago now so think it's over now. All good signs tho!

@LuciBee231015 all sounding v positive. I'm in the same limbo. Random vvvvv painful contractions. Loads of bh that are regular ish.

I've had another sign but not a "it's going to happen immediately" one.

I can't work out if I want them to come when it's this hot or not though 😝

@mynameisntLinda growth scan went well was told he's 'bigger than normal' and in the 80th percentile but nothing to be worried about their predicted weight was 7.5pounds which to me isn't big anyway?

It's nice to have an idea of what he weighs but they're so often wrong I'm not paying much attention to it. Also got a lovely 4d scan photo of
His fave that seemed to make it all that bit more real!

I'm also living in bra and pants sat in front of 2 fans that follow me to whichever room I'm in!

@LuciBee231015 @glitterglitters I've been the same since Saturday pm lots of regular bh and period type pain in back and low stomach when I mentioned at the scan today she said he's in the right place and could be it starting just need to be regular as well - hoping this means I won't end up going over but who knows! Trying not to get hopes up to much!

I'm so jealous of the fan talk, I'm currently lying on our bed in just a Victorian nightdress with all the windows open and I'm still melting. I felt gross after work today so just had a shower, it didn't quite have the cooling effect I was hoping for.

My in-laws have been insistent that we take a single bed from their house and put it in our little girl's/new baby's room - the plan being it's used by DH when he goes back to work and I'm up doing night feeds. That's all good as we slept separately mid-week when I had DS, but I really don't want this particular bed!! A few weeks ago I was happy they offered it to us...but now being the contrary Mary I am, I've decided it's ugly and I don't want it. Perhaps some nesting urge coming out? It's made of that god-awful pine that was everywhere in the 90s...

Both FIL and MIL rang DH about it today and DH had to go to their house, collect his father and they're now setting it up. I just wanted a bit of peace and quiet tonight! I'm hiding in our room and I'm not coming out...

The last thing I want is to have to make small talk with my FIL...I know that's mean but I feel miserable

Correction to my earlier post - we've been looking at scan report and the weight noted is current estimated not estimated birth weight! Meaning that they think he already weighs 7.5pounds? Can this be right?!

@nat2311 how far are u? I had a growth scan at 34+4 and it was estimated weight at 7lb6, so I'm having another scan in a few weeks then talking induction. Mines well above the 90th centile though. Apparently I'm just good at cooking babies! It runs in my family though as I come from a family of 8-10 pounders!

I'm 37 wks on Wednesday- the dr said it's a fine weight and there's no plans to do anything further . I've got mw tomorrow.

I'm more shocked as I'm sure she said 5.1 when we were in there and now I've read the report it's 7! To be fair the size of my bump and other family babies bigger makes sense!

Thanks again all 💐 DH went off to Heathrow 2 hours ago, so I had a minor meltdown and have since been sitting on a bench by the River Thames watching the sunset and sipping on an iced drink to compose myself. I know he'll do his best to get a good outcome for us.

@glitterglitters I'd been having individual eyelash extensions for 2 years and had absolutely no problem with them, then in December I suddenly flared up with a similar reaction to what you describe - eyes so puffy I could barely open them, and an excessive amount of 'sleepy dust' 😩 it was vile. They hadn't changed any of their products, and I went for patch tests at several different eyelash extension places over the past few months and always started getting the same allergic reaction... I'm really hoping it clears up after giving birth because having them done makes life so much easier!
@LuciBee231015 the HD brows sound great too... I want to get microblading done but have to wait until after pregnancy. Basically I just want to be able to get away with not putting on any daily makeup and still looking half decent 😅

@Twixes Bless you 😂 if you're so (understandably) averse to the 90s pine look, could you give your DH a little customisation project to paint the bed perhaps...?!

@ButterflyFree it's probably just a reaction to the glue maybe. I know that my skin is a lot more sensitive now than normal. I've had to stop wearing my beloved liquid lipsticks because they were burning

Side note. Liquid lipsticks are a game changer with a baby. You'll never be able to wear normal lipstick again because you kiss and snuggle your baby so much they end up covered and looking like a sparkly pink mess.

Finished painting the shelves yesterday; today I've packed my bag! And put the covers back on the car seat! And put bedding in the Moses basket! 37 weeks tomorrow; if this baby turns up earlier than expected, I won't be embarassed by my ill-preparedness.

A colleague took pity on me and drove me home this afternoon. Think I'm going to cycle in tomorrow, but with the intention of getting a taxi home (I've got a fold-up bike, so that's do-able).

My feet are massive! I have had them swelling for the last 3 wks but today they swelled up to the next level. I had them up on the coffee table most of time but I guess the heat must have made it worse. I actually took my shoes off and drove bare footed from east London to Kent. My sandals were properly digging in. I have just soaked them in cold water for 30 mins and now I'm in bed with feet propped up pillows. Midwife found no protein in my urine on Friday and blood pressure was also good so I will put it down the heat.

Just woken up with hideous tummy pains. It's so hot though I can barely move. So just laying quietly in bed seeing if they progress or taper off. I think they'll probably die off though. Hope so as fil (who is watching dd) is taking his car in today and I wanted to finish Line of Duty scariest 3 #priorities

Giltters I was up from 2-3am with BH again, regular every 10 mins for an hour. Then they tapered off. I feel shattered this morning and so does poor DH.

I need to get up and wash my hair etc now, watching Nieces in sports day as my sister is at work. I'm going to melt standing in the heat!
