5th thread!

Going by the pace of ‘Thread #4’, this could the last one as we might all have our babies by the time it runs out. Unless we all give detailed commentary during labour Grin.

Have just had a very serious discussion with dh about wanting to spend the next 5.5 weeks sat in the bath.

He wouldn't agree to it booooo!!! I feel so achey and heavy now.

I know it's only a few weeks but it feels like a marathon today. Hmm

Algebraic · 07/06/2017 18:00

@Spindelina I am so impressed! I can barely walk to the lounge without ricocheting off every door frame. I would be a menace to society on a bike.

Spindelina · 07/06/2017 19:40

I just feel very fortunate that I haven't had any of the joint pain that would stop me. I'm in more discomfort now (achey back) from having sat at my desk all day!

Notyetthere · 07/06/2017 22:31

Spin you have definitely been fortunate. First day of working from home and at lunch I decided to walk to the corner shops and post office. Only a 3mins walk but that was painful. Full on penguin waddle all the way to stop it hurting. I then thought to myself, Omg how am I going open my legs to be examined or push baby out? If I open my legs even slightly it hurts. Or when I forget while getting out the car and swing one leg out, the agony!

At the post office a pensioner got me to jump the queue saying, "you shouldn't be on your feet! Send your letter and go back home and rest!" 😂😂😂😂. I must look very pregnant and ready to drop any minute.

Has anyone bought a TENS machine and if so, which one? I was thinking about getting a Boots one. I know I could hire one, but I'd like a second baby in due course, so I figured the cost of hiring one twice, would be the same as buying one.

ButterflyFree · 07/06/2017 23:13

@Spindelina extremely impressed you're still cycling! I can barely stand the discomfort of it even when not pregnant 😂

@Twixes your DH is a star for stepping in as chauffeur - 440km round trip in a day would've been absolutely exhausting for you! I was tired enough after driving 80+ miles this morning, from London to Hampshire... DH only has a UAE driving licence so unfortunately we couldn't get him insured on the car here, but he didn't want me doing the return drive in the same day so we've booked into a beautiful countryside stately home hotel overnight and I'll drive us back to London tomorrow. Currently wallowing like a fat mermaid in the most luxurious bubble bath - @glitterglitters I know you'll approve!! 🛁

glitterglitters · 07/06/2017 23:16

@ButterflyFree Bliss!!!!!

I'm literally sat in my bed screeching into a pillow with a mixture of braxton hicks and the most horrendous fanny daggers right now. I can't work out if it's just prepping my body or I'm in denial?! Shock

ButterflyFree · 08/06/2017 01:45

Oh no you poor thing @glitterglitters - do you remember suffering like this with your first DD? Or is this a new sensation?

I'm sleepless despite feeling absolutely shattered after a long day of driving and visiting family... Also dealing with the fanny daggers and achey legs tonight, even after that dreamy bubble bath. DH is sound asleep of course - I'm sincerely hoping the little one will inherit his father's talent for sleeping!!

Littlejayx · 08/06/2017 07:19

I'm not saying I'm happy anybody else has the fanny daggers but I'm so glad I'm not alone! The pain is ridiculous Blush.

Started mat leave now, moving into our new house on the 14th so it's all happening now! Wish me luck

glitterglitters · 08/06/2017 08:10

I know what you mean @Littlejayx

I definitely had them with my first @ButterflyFree I think I'd just blocked out how severe and sharp they were Shock I proper screamed at one point which was not like me at all.

Thankfully all eased off after a while but I've woken up feeling queasy and really spotty, so must be a hormone surge.

Just got to do a bit of work, sort out myself and the toddler, vote and get ready for her 2nd birthday tomorrow. I'm terrified the baby is going to decide to come on her birthday 🙈 fingers crossed.

I have to say as well I'm so jealous of the way my husband can just drop off. I remember with #1 he used to wake up with me for the first few weeks and then could sleep through everything. I'd have been annoyed but apparently men's sleep rhythms adjust differently to women's after a baby so we're more sensitive.

Though he did used to do the wake up and panic you're holding the baby thing you have in the first few weeks too Grin

glitterglitters · 08/06/2017 08:11

Also good luck @Littlejayx exciting!!!!

Sewingbeatshousework · 08/06/2017 08:13

Good luck Littlejay! Hope the move goes ok, I've only moved once while pregnant and that was crazy enough at 6 months!

Fanny stabs galore last night, along with baby hiccups, big sore movements into my ribs, heartburn, killing hips and shar pelvis pone pains. Fell asleep about 4am to be woken up at 4.30 with DD having a bleeding nose...

DH in for his vasectomy today so I can't even nap cause I'm taxiing him to & fro and got to clear rooms for painters in tomorrow 😴😴

Twixes · 08/06/2017 08:56

Best of luck with the move Littlejayx! We moved when I was about 12 weeks even at that stage it wasn't easy.

Another one here with the fanny daggers, but I think mine is more groin pain/SPD. It's now excruciatingly sore to stand on one foot and I'm hobbling about for the first few minutes when I get up in the morning as I can't put any weight on my right leg at all. Turning over at night is also horrific. Only another three weeks to go - eeek! Even though DH drove me to work and back yesterday, 5 hours+ in the car and then sitting all day hasn't done me any favours. I agree ButterflyFree, he is a star for taking the day off work for me Grin.

VickytheStitch I had a TENS for DS and while I found it close to useless, I know some people find them great. I bought mine on eBay, NeuroTrac is the brand. You should've seen me with it...I had wires EVERYWHERE, think I probably threw it across the room in the end. DS was stuck in transverse presentation and I've problems with my back so I had a pretty awful labour. Thank god for the epidural is all I can say!!

rhodes2015 · 08/06/2017 10:35

Good luck with the move littlejay.
It's my last day at work tomorrow 🎉
Glitters I've been a bit spotty this week too Confused

Had quite bad period pain last night with prolonged periods of braxton hicks....Was thinking it may be a sign of something starting but it's gone this morning!?

Lallypopstick · 08/06/2017 10:53

Vicky I have the mamaTENS but don't know how good it is as I haven't used it. I figure it's worth a try though.

I've had no BH yet and feel left out! Had a midwife appointment yesterday and she seemed unconcerned about my groin pain. I guess it's so common. I always thought pregnant women waddled because of the weight gain but it's definitely the groin pain causing it for me.

VickyTheStitch · 08/06/2017 12:24

Lallypopstick I'm just the same. I'm 36+2 and have had no BH yet and my midwife has been very unconcerned about the aches and pains in my pelvis etc. Spent the morning shopping yesterday with my Mum and now suffering today from all the walking around the shops.

mynameisntLinda · 08/06/2017 15:14

I reckon you all jinxed me or maybe my body just wanted to be empathetic because I was hit with the fanny daggers this morning getting out of the car at work haha. Hobbled my way to my desk but not had any since.
I had more pelvic pain early on and not really had any lately. I get it if the toddler wakes me up at night but I think that's just from being lay down because it goes really quick and I generally don't get groin pain much during the day. MW just suggested buying a support and if it gets sever she'd refer me to physio but its not really been that bad (although I have to sit to put pants on now coz I can't stand on one leg either)

LuciBee231015 · 08/06/2017 15:42

Another one here with the fanny stabs 🙋🏼

I've been getting the odd period pain here and there too.

It's my last day at work tomorrow too and cannot wait! 38 weeks tomorrow! 😱

Rodent01 · 08/06/2017 16:56

@spindelina I too am still cycling, how many weeks are you now?? People keep telling me off, but I cycled 10K each way with DD1 till about 34 weeks, and only do 5K each way now, and want to carry on but people are making me feel bad!

Algebraic · 08/06/2017 18:00

Hi ladies, have just been informed (today!) by landlord that we are unable to stay in this property with a baby due to the restrictions from
"the bank". No idea what that means, some kind of insurance or mortgage stipulation? It's looking likely we will be served our two month notice so will have to move house with a newborn only 6 weeks old. Stressed to say the least. Especially as I mentioned the baby to them in April and nothing was said. Renting sucks! Off to eat biscuits and maybe cry a little.

glitterglitters · 08/06/2017 18:04

Oh @Algebraic that's utter shit Sad I'm so sorry. Flowers

glitterglitters · 08/06/2017 18:04

Also it sounds a bit made up if I'm totally honest. Shame on them!

iamreginaphalange · 08/06/2017 18:16

33+5 and it's my last day at work tomorrow! Well have got some leave to take .... ML officially starts 1/7.
Currently in bath and bump doesn't submerge anymore 😊

Algebraic · 08/06/2017 18:42

Thanks @glitterglitters that's a very useful link. Seems I would be covered by the equality act.
I replied to her email to say we were never informed by the agent no children were allowed else we wouldn't have moved in. We did want to move anyway, but wanted to take our time finding something decent and affordable. The city we are in has a mad rental market and it's pretty extortionate.
I'm hoping not to go down the route of getting a third party involved but will if necessary. Think I will take the correspondence I have so far to CAB so I can be prepared with a letter should they serve us our two months notice.
Hopefully she has shots herself in the foot by explicitly stating the reason we can't live here is the baby. Such a shame because we are good tenants who always pay rent on time and keep the place ship shape. We've even touched up the paintwork at our own expense!!
