I really shouldn't jinx myself!

After saying that about coughing bringing on labour my waters went at just after 4am! So now I'm in the hospital. The monitor on baby's heartbeat was fine so now I have to wait to see if labour starts properly!

Oh Kits you truly jinxed it! Glad baby is monitoring ok. I think you are next! This is exciting

Hayfever symptoms are well and truly here but I am still holding off taking a piriton as I don't fancy being all drowsy throughout the day. And baby will also get drowsy which then becomes impossible to monitor movement patterns.

Ha ha, I thought I was wetting the bed! 😳

Now it's just a waiting game. I thought I was getting contractions but the midwife said often after the waters go your uterus can get a bit irritated so they gave me paracetamol and something else to see if the contractions stop. I think something is still happening but it's hard to tell! A bit of stomach tightening and a period like cramp but nothing excruciating!

I'm waiting for a place on the ward and I'll be kept there for a couple of days then if nothing happens I might be sent home until I'm 37 weeks. Which I'm surprised about as I thought they didn't let you go too long after your waters break. But I've had antibiotics so maybe with them it's ok these days.

Kits I thought the same thing. That they don't let you go over a certain threshold after your waters break.

They can often control things with antibiotics and monitoring. My sil was sent home after her waters went, I think they can regenerate a bit as well (don't quote me on that though).

Has anybody got any tips for sleeping at the moment?

I've had the fan on, windows open, flannel on my head and when I do get comfortable and fall asleep I keep having what I can only describe as "angry" dreams. I wake up irate and not rested at all.

Thankfully dh took the bins out this morning and by some miracle the toddler stayed asleep till 8:30 (usually wakes up at 6!!!) so I got some sleep but it's super taking its toll now

How long did your SIL have before the birth after her waters went glitter?

I'm on the ward (which in reality is another private room in a slightly different area so it's nice and peaceful) and been told I'll likely be here at least 3 days. Nothing much seems to be happening. I've got a bit of a stomach ache but no contractions at the moment.

Think it was about 3 days or so and I think she was induced in the end.

This was about 18 years ago though so things will certainly be different now.

My niece is starting her maths degree in the autumn so it all ended up ok :)

If she was induced it would have been because my sil would have screeched the place down and they would have just wanted to get rid of her. She's quite a mouthy Kiwi

Oh kits!! Good luck girl!! 2 girls in my nct group have had their babies now, making me so excited for mine!

I've been on the raspberry leaf tea for 2 days, 3 cups a day. Getting on the birthing ball tonight be going to start making spicy dinners lol. All that's left is sex... 🤔

I've mainly been using the facebook group as I find it easier on my phone and don't always get chance to be at the PC. If anyone else wants to join the private group just send me a message with your name and i'll friend request you so you can join (then you can unfriend after if you want). It's still only small, there's only 26 of us on there at the moment.

@iamreginaphalange if you're only 32 weeks i genuinely wouldn't worry about being breech. My first was breech until about 38 weeks. then went head down and engaged but still didn't arrive until 41+1. Spinning babies has some interesting info on turning babies. mine is still transverse at the moment and I think im 34 ish (purposely not counting).

@Kitsandkids I was about to ask how you're doing today then I got to the latest page and read your now in hospital. If the waters have stopped leaking they'll probbaly just control with antibiotics and keep you going until 37 weeks maybe? hope hospital isn't too boring :(

haha poor dh @LuciBee231015 how many weeks are you now? I had zero caffeine in my last pregnancy and I swear it was a homemade costa latte that did the trick... although we also DTD the night before and I did a 4 mile walk round a local reservoir... so could have been any of those (most likely it was all just coincidence though lol) Can't imagine doing a long walk now, can't even walk half a mile with the dog without aching and being out of breath and needing a rest afterwards haha.

Glitter I don't have any tips short of taking sleeping tablets which we probably can't take anyway.

No I don't think we would be either. It's. It even a case of not being tired. It's just being comfy and staying asleep

Talking of swimmers, I wonder if sex is like pineapples where as you'd have to 6-8 a day to help induce labour!! I hope not!!!!!!

I also recall hearing that it doesn't matter which way the sperm enter your body so if you don't feel like DTD but can, er...stomach something else...that might work!!

My sleeps been on and off. The night before last I slept through till 5:30am without having to get up (and felt really proud of myself for some reason lol) but other nights I'm constantly waking up. The heat isn't helping one bit!

Only 32+1 here and relatively 'compact' bump (although measuring spot on) and I actually let myself sleep on my front for a bit the other night - with the help of a bit of pregnancy pillow manipulation. It was absolutely divine!! I miss sleeping on my front sooo much!!

Baby seems quite comfy still, even with the lack of waters! I was given the option of being induced Mondayish but told it would be best for baby if he or she can hang on until next week, so I'm going to let nature take its course as much as possible.

Hospital isn't too bad. My husband brought the kids to visit me for about an hour so they enjoyed playing with the bed! I'm just hoping it's meal time soon. I was given one round of sandwiches for dinner at 12ish and now I'm starving!

I've sent dh to buy lots of icy things from the shop because the toddler has been clinging to me and made me feel all sick and sticky. Yuk yuk yuk yuk

Glitter is it just the heat stopping you sleeping? Have you tried any hyponobirthing / relaxation scripts? Or even good old Paul McKenna? My hypnobirthing CD sends me off pretty quickly.

Just the heat and needing to pee. I've got a white noise machine etc

For me it's not too much the heat but the general discomfort and constant need to pee. And my boss wonders why I'm grumpy in the afternoons. All I want is a nap then.
