5th thread!

Going by the pace of ‘Thread #4’, this could the last one as we might all have our babies by the time it runs out. Unless we all give detailed commentary during labour Grin.

@Kitsandkids I think I only know this time that they're braxton hicks because I've already had a baby. Otherwise I'd be like wtf is going on?! Shock

The first time round I had about 3 false starts.... even one where I was having 4 contractions in 10 minutes!

I think the turning point was after my waters went (quite unusual by the way for waters to go before "established labour") and dh asked if I wanted to take the scenic route to the hospital and I just growled at him. Blush

I also lifted my entire body weight off the car seat using the handle above the door with just one arm, mid contraction at a red light. I have no upper body strength either Grin

It truly was an experience however keeping calm and remembering it was "useful" pain made it a lot more tolerable.

Kitsandkids · 30/05/2017 14:33

I hope everyone's ok. It seems to have gone quite quiet in here! Xx

glitterglitters · 30/05/2017 15:16

Think we're all knackered Confused

Algebraic · 30/05/2017 15:51

Anyone getting tailbone pain and have any tips on managing it? 33 weeks tomorrow and it came on last week. Sitting in the car is horrid and I have a few long trips to do over the next few weeks. In the last week it's really hit me and I suddenly feel very pregnant!
Is anyone else thinking woah! This is really happening!

ButterflyFree · 30/05/2017 17:08

@Algebraic Lately I've had a sort of dull ache in the coccyx area; it sort of feels like I need to twist and click my back but I can't - is that similar to what you're experiencing? I'm definitely with you on the feeling of actually being pregnant now too! I suddenly feel so big and heavy, and I've started getting really achey legs at night time. Kept me awake for a couple of nights, but I've realised that a nice bubble bath (with Radox Muscle Soak) just before bed really does the trick to soothe them and helps me sleep very well. Maybe try to have a nice soak in a bubble bath for your lower back too...?

I've also been getting quite sharp groin/pelvic pains at random times throughout the day recently.

Algebraic · 30/05/2017 17:18

@ButterflyFree it's more like a bruised feeling like when you fall hard on your bottom. I'm getting the achey legs too and restless legs have started, mainly in the evening which is driving me mad.

Feel like such a moaner but can't use bubble bath or anything like that due to my eczema. I long for a nice bubbly bath....

I'm afraid I'm approaching full whining mode today and fear I may have a tantrum at any moment GrinGrin I should probably take myself off to a quiet dark room...

glitterglitters · 30/05/2017 17:19

@ButterflyFree sounds like the dreaded fanny daggers Shock

I can't tense my legs at all because it feels like my pelvis "clicks" now. Also I've got to be careful if I roll in bed as my hips have decided they no longer want to stay in their sockets. Eeeeek.

A long soak in the bath sounds ideal tbh. I've got a bubble bar from Lush just waiting to be used as well ❤️

SewingBeatsHouseWork · 30/05/2017 17:21

Not posted since the 1st thread 😳

Now 32+2 with DC3, been diagnosed with gallstones and irritable uterus. The IU basically makes me think I'm in eary labour constantly it's awful, I'm now panicking I won't know when actual labour starts until it's too late for DH to get back from work in time (2 hours away). And gallstones flipping hurt! The thought of having another 8-10 weeks to go is making me 😣😭

Kitsandkids · 30/05/2017 17:50

That sounds nasty Sewing.

I've not had back pain but my legs have started aching when I'm lying down, my feet and ankles are very swollen by the end of the day, I suddenly feel huge and over the last couple of days I've developed a nasty chesty cough. I'm just grateful I don't have to go out to work, and am in awe of those of you still coping with long working days. My foster kids are on half term and my husband has a few days off so I'm making the most of the napping time I'm getting!

Lallypopstick · 30/05/2017 18:05

Thanks for all the food prep advice - although I'm not sure when I'll have the energy to do any of it! My shoulders were hurting from making tea tonight, I'm so quick to get tired or be in pain at the moment.

Algebraic · 30/05/2017 18:28

Oh sewing that sounds awful. Hopefully you will get a clear sign when the real thing comes.

Feel like my face is pure chub these days and noticed a back roll today. These changing bodies!

Freezer now sorted ready to start this batch cooking.

ButterflyFree · 30/05/2017 18:34

Oh @Algebraic you poor thing 😣 so sorry you can't have a bubble bath. Would you be able just to soak in warm water without any bubbles or soap at least? I just absolutely love being in water during pregnancy... I'm missing my daily swims in our building's pool back in Dubai to be honest.

@glitterglitters Fanny daggers 😂😂🔪such a good description. Definitely get that Lush stuff into action... I brought a bag full of Lush bubble bombs over with me in my luggage as I didn't want them to expire while I'm away but the Radox Muscle Soak has been dreamy for me so far.

@SewingBeatsHouseWork That sounds awful, you poor thing. Hopefully the remaining weeks will fly by and you'll soon be out of your misery.

I agree with you @Kitsandkids - I'm in awe of everyone who's carrying on with working, running after their DCs (and moving house like @mcnics !) - really don't know how you all do it. This third trimester of pregnancy lark isn't easy, and I'm pretty much just being a lady of leisure!! Very grateful that I get to set my own schedule and do everything at my own pace these days.

wildone81 · 30/05/2017 21:21

I'm at the tired and fed up stage, so have been reading rather than posting. Been signed off work past four weeks with shitty mental health stuff and had planned to go back in this Thursday before starting mat leave on the 9th, but it looks like I'll be signed off again so won't be back in the office before baby appears. Gutted, because I get on really well when th my team and feel like I'm massively letting them down 😕 On a positive, at least I know baby will be here 6 weeks today at the very latest.......

glitterglitters · 30/05/2017 21:23

@wildone81 Flowers

Notyetthere · 30/05/2017 21:39

Glitter you hit the nail on the head. We are all knackered. The pubic bone pain has also stepped up a notch here. Also feels like baby got in a weird position and now exerts a pain low down on and off. Also sometimes hits a nerve that pain shoots all the way down my left thigh. It got so bad in the office this morning that I left the office right before lunch and worked from home. The walk up the hill to my car was agony. I don't know if I can continue with my commute for the next 2weeks.

35+3 today and I feel very pregnant. I feel generally ok, baby feels strong, but I am ready to drop😭

I cannot, for the life of me, get any sleep. Sad

Keep having to go to the loo and having bad tightening/feeling sick as well.

Made the mistake of binge watching some tv before bed last night and it's making weird stuff loop through my brain.

I'm so tired Confused

Lallypopstick · 31/05/2017 04:37

I'm with you glitterglitters - I can't remember the last time I slept through the night. I guess this is our life now for the foreseeable.

Love to you wildone - easier said than done but try not to feel guilty about work and do what you need to feel better.

glitterglitters · 31/05/2017 04:40

@Lallypopstick pretty much par for the course now. I just wish it weren't so uncomfortable Sad

Spindelina · 31/05/2017 05:02

Morning.

Notyetthere · 31/05/2017 06:43

I'm resigned to the fact that now I wake about 4 times a night, walk or mainly limp to the loo as the side I was sleeping on aches, rinse out a little wee, stare at my bump in the mirror for a few seconds and then back to bed.

It then takes another few minutes to position myself in the dreamgenii pillow. Sometimes I think the pillow doesn't work but then if I go a night without it then it's more painful.

I long to sleep on my back and front. I almost turned on to my front last night but was suddenly woken up baby's massive kick. It's like she knew I would crash her in that position.

OP posts:
glitterglitters · 31/05/2017 06:55

I tried to turn on my bump this morning and ended up stuck.

Was meant to be popping out today to get my brows done and and head into town whilst the toddler goes to her nanny's.

Think I may just go back to bed.

nat2311 · 31/05/2017 08:25

@glitterglitters I'm the same been having strong tightenings some that are almost painful and feeling so sick!

I admire you all that are doing this with kids already! No sleep is torture I can't remember the last time I slept for more than an hour but I guess is first timers better get used to it!

On the plus 2.5 days left at work!

glitterglitters · 31/05/2017 08:35

I am not exaggerating when I say you will encounter sleep deprivation that you wouldn't believe. You do however just get in with it. I don't know how but you get reserves from somewhere. I think the main thing is to ask for help when you need it. ❤️

Spindelina · 31/05/2017 08:44

I've been getting involved with Woolly Hugs. If I'm going to be awake several hours before everyone else, I might as well use the time productively, knitting and crocheting.

ButterflyFree · 31/05/2017 14:34

Must have been something in the air last night as I also had one of my worst nights' sleep so far, with a record number of bathroom trips!

To make matters worse, DH woke up at 5am with a blocked nose and sore throat, and has been wallowing in his man flu misery ever since 😓

My mum got really upset with me for not 'embracing' my bump - she noticed that I've been hiding it by wearing clothes that disguise it very well, to the point where most people STILL wouldn't be able to tell I'm pregnant by looking at me. I don't know why but I'm just not loving myself with a bump, and I really feel more comfortable with it barely showing... She made me feel so guilty, as if I'm being superficial and selfish 😣

It's not that I don't love the fact that I'm pregnant, or that I'm trying to hide my pregnancy - not at all. I'm just not confident or comfortable with the way I look at the moment and I'm not about to wear tight clothes to accentuate it even more. Am I a bad person for feeling like this?!
