Thread #2, because apparently our "quiet" thread is rather busy! Grin

If you're new, do add yourself to the list so we can all see where we're at!

Help yourself to a Biscuit, here's to another month of chatting!

Congratulations on great scans mummy and sock, it's amazing seeing the babies grow!

That's weird about your dates tea, back to the waiting game then. Hopefully the 2 weeks will go by quickly.

springer I wore heels in the office for my first pregnancy and was ok. Nowadays, I'm sluming it in converse. Hope your back gets better though.

I've felt sick again today (was actually a bit relieved). I've got the in laws flying in for the weekend tonight and we are hosting a party tomorrow. The through of preparing and cooking all the food, makes be wato be sick so it's going to be an interesting weekend.

Hazandduck · 21/04/2017 14:37

Hello everyone, had an early reassurance scan today and am measuring in line with my LMP just a day or two behind (they said 10+5 when they scanned but put 10+4 on my notes, hey ho) so have an EDD of 13th of November. I cannot believe there was an actual baby shaped little thing inside. Couldn't stop crying. I've now finally called my drs to organise booking in! X

What lovely scans.

Those that have had bad news over the last few days I'm so sorry. Flowers for all of you.

I feel like I'm on hold here. I see my doc on Thursday and will get the harmony test results at the same time. I have a scan booked for the following week to measure the nuchal fold.
I don't feel at all attached to the jellybean. I don't know if it's because I need to know the results of the tests to be at ease or if there is something more. For the first time in quite a while I'm also feeling really homesick.

MrsGB2225 · 21/04/2017 15:34

That's great news haz, congratulations. hopefully you won't have to wait too long for your scan

MrsGB2225 · 21/04/2017 15:37

Sorry to hear you're feeling homesick stuck, have you got any visitors in the future or any trips planned back to the UK?

Foggymist · 21/04/2017 16:13

Hi everyone, so sorry for those who have had bad news Flowers

Had our follow up private scan yesterday, just a nice gesture as they couldn't see much at 7 week scan. There was a very healthy heartbeat so it's definitely real! Even though we heard the heartbeat 2 weeks ago I was still cautious, but now it's measuring 9+ weeks and has 4 little limb buds waving around :) It's located way down on the far left, which is just weird because ds was at the right, she said they generally pick a side and stay there!

I feel mostly fine, very bearable nausea overall, just tired and so SO hungry all the time. I'd say still breastfeeding ds is adding to the hunger, if I don't eat every 2 hours that's when I get a bit nauseous.

Decided we will still keep quiet for at least 2-4 weeks, I suggested telling people in October but dh said no Grin

butterybollocks · 21/04/2017 16:43

Ooohhh some very cute scan pictures!

Sorry to hear you're feeling homesick stuckinny. Do you have any extended family out there? Is it people you're missing, or something else?

I am so hungry all the time but then am not enjoying food, especially my evening meal. I want it but then have to force down what I can when it arrives. And if I don't eat enough I wake up hungry in the night.

But not eating might do me good - at my booking in appt I saw the midwife note down my bmi... I am obese! Bit horrified, I know I have a bit of weight to lose but I am still (just about) a size 12.

Hazandduck · 21/04/2017 17:07

Ah stuck that's not good you're feeling homesick! It's probably all the hormones not helping either. Sounds like you need a package from home with all your favourite UK snacks and things! Hope you feel better soon.
Foggy we are keeping it quiet from our parents until after the 12 week scan, and after they've been told we may cautiously start to tell people as we see them. I'm actually enjoying it being our little secret right now. Although I am having the worst urges to just buy lots of baby grows! Must resist...
Buttery I can't believe the BMI measurements for obesity at times. It doesn't take in to account individual shapes! Silly system.
Xx

Zampa · 21/04/2017 17:34

Stuck Do you need a care package of Walkers crisps, Dairy Milk and Tetley tea bags?!

Very jealous of all the scan pictures -they're lovely. I thought I'd get a scan at the antenatal clinic today but I misread the letter and I'm a bit disappointed.

However, 12 week scan set for 12/05 when I'm 11+4 and first consultant clinic set for 31/05. I've booked my private NIFT appt too! Can't wait!

Any other consultant led ladies?

stuckinny · 21/04/2017 19:42

Zampa you're gesture just made me cry! Bloody hormones!

It's just me out here. All my family is in the U.K. Stupid thing is DS and I are in Florida at the moment having a great time. It should be the least likely place to miss home.
I suspect you're right and that it is hormones. Hopefully a very early night (which unfortunately will be followed with a very early morning as we're racing) will make things better.
DS has no idea about the pregnancy but he's been very sweet and checking up on me. I think he can sense I'm out of sorts. Kids can be amazingly empathic.

Mummyagainmaybe · 21/04/2017 20:05

Love the scans folks. Really sorry to all who have had bad news x

Stuck I'm only in England instead of Scotland, but I'm incredibly homesick with the hormones. Even made tablet lol. Could kill a square sausage.

stuckinny · 21/04/2017 20:31

Isn't it crazy the stuff you miss? We had the food network on last night and they were showing fair food. All I wanted was a chunk of French stick with a sausage, onions and ketchup. Lol. I can't even remember the last time I had one (probably before I moved out here)

Hazandduck · 21/04/2017 22:07

Ooh a sausage baguette does sound appetising right now stuck. Can you not get any of that in NY? It's so weird to think of the tiny cultural differences isn't it. Do you have any plans to visit the UK in the near future? I sometimes get homesick for my mum's cooking and I live about 2 miles down the road from her, so you have my sympathies, it must be tough being so far away from family. Xx

stuckinny · 21/04/2017 23:46

The sausages are so different and the bread is...well, yuck! When I go home the first thing I do is buy a French stick. I miss good bread.
No plans to make a trip at the moment. I was hoping to wait until next year as I made a couple of trips last year but think I might keep my eyes open for a good deal, even if it's a crazy weekend trip.
I was spoilt at Christmas. We were home for a week and I ate like I'd never seen food. Lol. There is something about mums cooking.

Also figured out DP is part of the way I'm feeling. We had a disagreement yesterday and haven't really had a chance to clear the air. All down to a language barrier. We speak the same language but English English and American English are so not the same thing. We need a translator. Lol.

AGnu · 22/04/2017 00:01

Bleugh, I can't even think about food today. I've managed to eat a bag of hula hoops in 2 sittings & a cracker. Apparently I was wrong when I thought things might be improving. Not only have I felt queasy all day but I've also been dizzy & spent about half an hour just retching in the bathroom this evening! 10 weeks tomorrow - it's got to get better soon, right?!

Finally got my scan date! DH has got to rearrange a work thing but he thinks it should be ok. It'll be just over a week before we go on holiday so hopefully it'll give DS1 some time to get used to the idea. I'm hoping it won't send him manic - bedtimes can be really difficult but more so when he's anxious & can't express it. Fx he'll be a manageable level of excited! Got to find a babysitter now! Eek, it's all getting a bit real!

Today I am questioning my sanity, I went to Aldi in an attempt to save money on shopping. It was rammed. Now I'm sitting in the car park of Asda feeling hot and bothered. And every meal I'm planning this week has chicken as the main ingredient as I can't face the thought of anything else. Bleurgh

Hazandduck · 22/04/2017 13:57

Good news on the scan Agnu!

Stuck when I was in California a couple of years ago we met this wonderful man who had a bakery, he let us pitch up our campervan in his yard! Any way, he was a total Anglophile so adored us and gave us lots of free, delicious bread, but he had lived in England and Paris and knew how to make a decent loaf. Thinking about it, there really weren't any other places with fare like it out there. If you ever find your way to Bob's Bakery, Los Alamos, he will sort you out with some high quality bread!
I hope you and DP are getting along a bit better today, my OH drives me up the wall sometimes for no reason, and we definitely speak the same language...
X

AGnu · 22/04/2017 14:29

Stuck I'm heading to Canada in a few weeks. Not sure sausages or bread would travel well but if there's anything less perishable you're craving I can put it in a boat & float it across Niagara for you... Or maybe post it more cheaply!

OP posts:
stuckinny · 22/04/2017 15:31

Hazandduck, I'll definitely keep it in mind. No idea when I'll get back to the west coast but I'll travel anywhere for good food. Smile

AGnu I might take you up on the offer. As odd as it sounds I'm desperate for deodorant! I can't get on with the stuff here at all.
Great news on your scan.
I understand the anxiety telling your son. I'm dreading telling DS. Even though he has a sister 9 years older than him (through his dad) it's been just the two of us for so long it's going to take some adjustment. He's already told me he got one sibling and doesn't want/need any more Confused

I'm feeling much better today. Was asleep just after 7 last night and slept almost straight through until my alarm went off at 3.30. One more early morning then back to reality.

AGnu · 22/04/2017 19:33

PM me with an address & a list stuck!

My DC are already excited by the idea. It must be about 2 years now since DS1 started telling us "when you have another baby..." It's his ASD that concerns me - he can be really excited about something until it's actually going to happen & then he freaks out!

I'm doing really well with eating today. I've had a potato waffle, a pack of hula hoops, a few sticks of pepper & most of a box of Ritz crackers. I've also drunk about 600ml of water. That's more than I've managed for days! I haven't got out of bed, other than to have a shower though! Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to get out of bed and eat/drink!

stuckinny · 22/04/2017 19:40

AGnu, will do once I either figure out how to do it on my phone or get home tomorrow night.

I feel for you. I can't eat sweet stuff but other than that I'm back to normal. It couldn't have happened at a better time. This week would have been hell otherwise.

I couldn't believe how many pregnant women I saw out on the course this morning...mostly in the bathroom line, but they were out there. Nice to know I'm not the only crazy.

lydiangel83 · 22/04/2017 21:02

@stuckinny what are you up to on your travels? Golf?

I feel very moody/ emotional/ irrational @mrsjkerry so don't worry you're definitely not the only one! Maybe some time alone, early nights will help? I'm in bed eating prawn crackers and chocolate as hubby is out. Bliss :)

DuRezidal · 22/04/2017 21:31

I am absolutely exhausted today. I babe been running up my young stallion today at the national stallion show so am well and truly ready to put my feet up!

I have my booking in appointment on Monday (finally) and then will hopefully get a date for a scan. I will be almost 11 weeks though oh Monday so worried my scan will be late.

stuckinny · 22/04/2017 21:55

Lydiangel83, we're in Disney running. It's the Dark Side Challenge weekend. DS ran with me the last two days: 5K and 10k. I'll run the half on my own tomorrow. The races are just an excuse to make a trip Smile. The only downside is the crazy early mornings. The races start at 6 & 5.30 so it's been 3.30 alarms.
