Thread #2, because apparently our "quiet" thread is rather busy! Grin

If you're new, do add yourself to the list so we can all see where we're at!

We're all allowed a moan now and again Kimbles! I'm still gagging and throwing up when I clean my teeth at night. Fine in the morning but evenings are a different matter! Really annoying!

Foggymist · 19/05/2017 21:30

I feel great until afternoon, then I feel queasy/hungry/heartburny until I lie down in bed. Other than that I feel fine and normal!

butterybollocks · 20/05/2017 06:35

Tmc hope you are OK.

I think we all need to moan from time to time. A few weeks ago I told my husband that there was no joy left in my life anymore, mainly because I still couldn't face eating chocolate!BlushConfused

I'm off maternity clothes shopping today. Still feel like it's a bit early but reassuring to hear you've all been shopping too. I'm really running out of things I can wear and off on holiday next week.

Have a good Saturday everyone Smile

Topsyloulou · 20/05/2017 07:52

I'm off shopping for maternity clothes today too. Sorted through my bag of clothes from last time & was surprised at how little there was, I obviously borrowed far more than I remembered. Turns out I was also a size bigger last time so the trousers are all too big (at the moment!)

Hope everyone has a successful shopping trip.

MrsGB2225 · 20/05/2017 07:56

Happy weekend everyone!

I hope you are ok tmc as everyone said baby will be quite protected but they might scan you just in case.

I've ordered maternity clothes from asos and H&M. My asos maternity jeans were too baggy and my H&M ones arrive today so hopefully they are better.
It's just this in between stage of clothes being too tight, but not having a proper bump that's annoying. So far ive been using a hair band to widen my jeans and have just been wearing long tops.

Symptom wise, I'm still eating more but the sickness and has mostly gone. I'm just getting headaches all the time. I don't want to take too much paracetamol so I'm limiting myself to one when it gets really bad.

lydiangel83 · 20/05/2017 08:01

@MrsGB2225 I will check out H&M as not looked there yet. I am also getting headaches, fever and have taken a bit of paracetamol but hoping it doesn't do any harm if within recommended allowance :-/

Hazandduck · 20/05/2017 10:28

Hope you are ok tm, I am so paranoid about falling down the stairs, totally understand your worry, but realistically the baby is so cushioned in there (after how hard the sonographer was poking my belly I feel a lot calmer!) Did you speak to your midwife?
I've been putting things in my basket but not actually purchased yet! Seen some nice pyjamas (I am such a pyjama freak I spend way too much on them lol) on boohoo and a "Knocked Up" t shirt that I thought was pretty funny! I wore my jeggings from New look out last night and they are the super skinny ones, but even the 'stretchy' waistband was uncomfortable! So may need to get some proper maternity jeans soon...
Has anyone announced yet? I'm still cautious but our parents are urging us to get excited now and want to tell the rest of the family (Grandmas and aunties etc!) Maybe we should this weekend...x

Hazandduck · 20/05/2017 10:29

Oh mrs and lydia yup with you on that, my fatigue has been replaced by headaches every morning, feverish dreams and hot flushes! 🙄

lydiangel83 · 20/05/2017 10:38

I have bought loads and awaiting arrival of most of it, have returned a few things as well, bit of an impulse shopper and also panicking as my work clothes are starting to not fit!

Saw friends last night who reckoned I definitely had a bump, and have told almost all friends and family by contacting them separately. It's been nice to do that.

Not doing a social media announcement and only told boss and her boss at work. Going to leave it a bit longer with the wider team who I sit near but don't really like and don't need to work with.

lydiangel83 · 20/05/2017 10:39

@MrsGB2225 bought a load of H&M wear this morning, nice to have some more colourful options after seeing so much black and white elsewhere!

Foggymist · 20/05/2017 12:11

I got a lovely sweatshirt last time from New Look that said "It started with a kiss", but I never got a proper bump so never really wore it because it made no sense, I just looked pudgy!

We won't be doing a facebook announcement, still haven't told all my friends or family. Some of them are abroad so will have to just message them, but I hate even doing that! Feels so weird to message people to just talk about myself Confused The joys of being self employed, no boss or colleagues to tell!

lydiangel83 · 20/05/2017 12:26

@Foggymist I know what you mean about sending messages but I think people are happy to hear your news and appreciate being told personally rather than a group email or other way. I've got quite a big extended family so rang a couple but had to message the rest

lydiangel83 · 20/05/2017 14:45

I saw some 'preggosaurus' PJs in Topshop that I really liked!

butterybollocks · 20/05/2017 15:29

Topsy hope you've had a more successful shopping trip than me! We travelled to Birmingham only to find that none of the shops actually stock maternity clothes - tried h&m, gap, new look, next, John Lewis. They all told me their stuff is online but I'm not an online clothes shopper as I like to try things on. Very annoying. Did manage to find some jeans in mothercare but the other clothes in there were so bland. Treated myself to a new massive pregnancy pillow.

I'm also getting lots of headaches and taking paracetamol every now and again. I did ask the midwife about it and she said it was fine and better than feeling totally crap with a headache.

I've told friends a few work colleagues - I hate telling people! Our little girl has told most people for us. Won't be doing any sort of announcement at work as quite a few of my colleagues are struggling with infertility. Don't feel like doing a big fb announcement either.

Zampa · 20/05/2017 15:29

I saw 2 t-shirts in JoJo that I laughed at. One said "We're hoping for a stegosaurus" and the other " We're hoping for a unicorn". Might get the dino one!

Topsyloulou · 20/05/2017 16:26

I had a similar struggle Buttery. The only shop in our fairly large shopping centre that stocks maternity is H&M. They had a pretty good range, ended up just randomly grabbing stuff, was a bit shocked at the till, £200! Didn't end up with any more jeans or work trousers which were my main requirements. Most of it will be going back once I've tried it all on. Thing I might have to do some online orders at Asos, gap & topshop with some eBay browsing too.

So far we've told family & 2 groups of friends. I'm telling my immediate work team on Thursday as want to tell them before the bump gives it away. Will wait until DS knows to tell anyone else.

izzibee29 · 20/05/2017 17:40

Announced today to the world with this picture. Had told close family and friends first so am happy to be able to share. Some of our friends who are due in Sept are coming for dinner tonight, nice to have a bump buddy near home.

stuckinny · 20/05/2017 22:32

Holy moly! I finally looked at booborbust.com last night and did all the measurements. According to the site I'm a DD/E!! I'm usually a small B. I didn't believe it so went shopping today. Sure enough I'm between a D and DD! I bought a couple of cheap bras from Primark (shockingly we have one close to where I live) that should get me through the next couple of month. I don't want to invest in nursing ones yet as I'm sure they are going to grow again.

Maternity shopping here is equally depressing. Very few shops and those that carry clothes in the store would send you bankrupt in seconds. Think I'm going to be living in leggings for the summer weekends. I'd like a pair of trousers for work so will probably try H&M and Gap.

lydiangel83 · 20/05/2017 23:12

Silly question but is there such a thing as a special maternity bra or should I just go for a fitting for a normal bra (just likely to be bigger than usual)?

Also same question for knickers!

stuckinny · 21/05/2017 00:13

Lydia, you can get nursing bras which have a clip at the top of the cup so it's easier to nurse. From what I remember most recommend that you don't wear wired bras.
I bought a couple of super cheap t-shirt style ones. I figure I'll have to buy new ones again in a couple of months.
As for knickers. I have no idea. I managed to wear my regular ones the whole time I was pregnant with DS.

Zampa · 21/05/2017 06:27

Under wired bras are supposed to interfere with milk production, I think.

You should be ok with your normal pants but do get some cheap, big knickers for your hospital bag as maternity pads are huge!

butterybollocks · 21/05/2017 07:35

Lydia for now I've just bought non underwired bras in my new larger size. I can't face buying nursing bras yet! I just got some from sainos.

I'll get some nursing bras later on, I think I got them from jojo last time. I just wore my normal pants until after the birth (c section) when I had some massive comfy granny pants.

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 21/05/2017 07:37

Today is my first day of the second trimester!
I woke up yesterday and didn't feel ill so though that was the end of the nausea, but no. Back with a vengeance today.

How's everyone else doing?
Love the announcement photo IzzyBee. We haven't done one, but if we do it will have to involve DDog

lydiangel83 · 21/05/2017 07:38

Thanks all for the helpful info! I need to go bra shopping.

the reason I asked about pants is that my bum has got a lot bigger already! I'm impressed you ladies didn't need new ones! But noted re maternity bag, thanks!

lydiangel83 · 21/05/2017 07:40

@NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown my nausea went on second trimester and get maybe one day in 10 where I feel sick if I don't eat enough all the food. I have been getting fever and headache every day though and may have to go to doctors this week to check it's nothing serious.
