Lovely picture @GingerHanna looks like we are still sharing some experiences, we both have awkward babies. Did they ask you to jiggle about? I had to do that to wake mine up such a mean mummy already!

MrsGB2225 · 09/05/2017 17:59

Great pictures! I've never seen an upside down baby in a scan pic before Hanna so it's quite unique!
Is anyone else finding that as the sickness goes the headaches are getting worse?

Hopeful25 · 09/05/2017 18:42

Hurrah lovely to see all the scan pics :) upside down baby defo unique pic not seen one before !

Mrsg I'm still getting nausea in evenings not as much in afternoon now. I tend to get hot headaches in evening and lie in bed with cold flannel which is bliss.

Glad to hear people's nausea is starting to go, I can't wait to feel normal again. Anyone with spots breakout find they are clearing up yet?

I'm good with water but recently I've had the odd bottle (1-2 a week last couple of weeks) of cold orange lucozade -- definitely nectar!!

Foggymist · 09/05/2017 18:48

My scan pics are so unclear because it had its back to us so it's nice seeing proper ones!

Definitely not feeling as queasy as often, still starving all the time and usually a bit "off" in the evenings. Just had a few days away and had a fabulous time on the beach (and in the freezing gorgeous ocean!) every day in beautiful sunshine, badly needed.

Really starting to get an obvious curved stomach now if I wear something fitted, so early!! Still haven't told many at all but will have to tell my friends soon before they can just see it!

Hopeful25 · 09/05/2017 18:56

Ooh I have a question - on my letter for scan I'm sure it said I had to drink two litres of water before the scan.... did I read it right? And if so how on earth did people manage without wetting themselves?!

Hopeful25 · 09/05/2017 18:58

Foggy mini break away sound fabulous and weather has been so good recently.

I'm a bit overweight ( ok I'm 35 bmi) so I feel more bloated and my tummy feels bigger but doubt anyone else would notice as my tummy already stuck out Confused

Topsyloulou · 09/05/2017 19:04

Hopeful you just need a full bladder. I don't think I could hold 2 litres in my bladder anymore & certainly not if someone was pressing down on it with the scanner! I had a cup of tea & half a bottle of water before my scan & no problems.

Ginger baby was lying upside down in my scan too but somehow she managed to get one photo the right way up which confused me as baby hadn't moved! Think it's a sign of things to come, with DS I had to jiggle around at 12 week scan to get him into right position & at 20 week scan he moved so much I came out with a bruise as they were pressing down so hard to keep him still & see his heart. The only time he lay still was when they checked the sex & he proudly showed off his bits!

Zampa · 09/05/2017 19:06

MrsGB I now get headaches in the morning with vomiting in the evening. Brilliant!

DD has thrown up 4 times today and has a chest infection. Desperately hoping that she doesn't pass anything onto me. If she's still ill on Friday am, DP will have to stay at home with her whilst I have my scan, which will be disappointing. Can't take a sick baby to a maternity clinic though.

stuckinny · 09/05/2017 19:11

Hopeful, I was given the same information but when I went for the first scan (an internal) she said I didn't need to and could go to the bathroom before we began. I didn't bother for the scan last week. Just drank as normal.

Got some good news today. My insurance plan will cover the cost of a breast pump. I can't order it until 30 days before my due date but it's one less thing I have to worry about. I've set a reminder in my phone so I don't forget.
And DP's sister has asked if she can throw us a baby shower. I'm not really a fan of them but I love their family and am happy for any excuse for us all to get together. As I have no family here the fact that she wants to do it is overwhelmingly nice.

DuRezidal · 09/05/2017 20:00

So today I finally had to say goodbye to my gorgeous designer breeches for riding and start using my riding leggings that have a stretchy top! I'm only 13 weeks and I have suddenly got a very obvious little bump. I am only slim and very fit as in a professional athlete, but last pregnancy I didn't show until over 20 weeks!!!

justahusband · 09/05/2017 20:05

Re Ultrasounds. For an abdominal ultrasound you need a full bladder to help with the ultrasound. Your bladder just needs to be full at the time of the ultrasound, so whatever you can drink and hold onto is fine. A pint (of water!) one hour beforehand seems to do the trick

For a transvaginal scans your bladder should be empty. Normally you'd empty your bladder right before the scan.

Hopeful25 · 09/05/2017 20:36

Thank you everyone that is so reassuring about what to drink !! I drank a litre before the internal scan (doh) and I was in pain before appointment and made up when she said I should go loo before.

Feel better about that now :) xx

Foggymist · 09/05/2017 22:05

DuRezidal your muscles just go "aaaaand RELAX!" on second pregnancy! I'm nowhere near fit like a professional athlete lol but I have a slender frame and didn't show until 22 weeks last time to people who knew me, 32+ weeks to strangers. This time I'm only 12 weeks and I'd say my friends and family will see it in the next fortnight depending on what I wear. Think I'll tell breastfeeding group and mum & baby group soon rather than trying to suck it in every week.

GingerHanna · 10/05/2017 05:17

stuck mine is the same and I've found a couple of places that let you hire them also so you can figure out which work for you. Found a sling /carrier library in town today also so very happy about that.

First day in the office this week today and now I've had my scan I'll be switching to flat shoes and less restrictive clothes. There are going to be comments!

DuRezidal · 10/05/2017 07:10

Haha there is definitely no hiding it here!!!

Is anyone else having very weird and vivid dreams???

user1490725830 · 10/05/2017 07:43

Hello everyone hope u don't mind me joining! I'm 11+5 and patiently (not so much) waiting for scan letter! Definately have the fear that something has happened! I've known almost 2 months and only had booking appointment on Monday past! Just feel like anything cud be goin on and I don't know! Have had the nausea but it seems to have settled but had a dull ache in my back all of yesterday and I've completely got worked up over it! This is my first pregnancy - fingers crossed scan appointment comes by the end of the week!! Confused

butterybollocks · 10/05/2017 08:57

DuRez I've had all sorts of weird dreams!

Struggling to hide my tummy at the moment, I'm a bit fat anyway but already have a bit of a bump. I'm away for work at the moment and colleague was asking why I've stayed overnight instead of driving home last night and was teasing me for being lazy! I'm off to a meeting in London tomorrow, have no idea what I'm going to wear!

User... Welcome, and you're not alone in having the fear.

theotherendofthesockportal · 10/05/2017 09:15

@DuRezidal yes, I too have very vivid dreams. I can remember them when I wake up but then forget about them. Sometimes I lie in bed trying to adjust back to reality as the dreams have been so weird.

AGnu · 10/05/2017 11:49

Yes to the crazy dreams! Last night I had to go to Portsmouth for an exam that I'd forgotten about. I can vividly remember frantically sorting through papers in the bottom drawer to find the photocopied chapter that my tutor had given me. I still feel the anxiety of not being able to get in contact with any of my friends to drive down together & the relief when DH said he'd take the day off & drive so I could revise on the way. It took me ages to convince myself it was just a dream. Once I finally went back to sleep I had a very complicated dream about getting muddled in the airport. I swear I wake up more exhausted than when I went to bed!

Another yes to the crazy dreams! Woke up twice last night convinced they were real. But in the third one last night I remember telling myself, whilst in my dream, that it was ok because it was only a dream! So random!

Welcome user! I've got my scan Friday when I'll be 11+6, but haven't even had a booking appointment yet till next week.

prettygirlincrimsonrose · 10/05/2017 12:57

I had a very weird and vivid dream about telling my friends the father was someone else. Since I've only slept with DH for the last 12 years that seems unlikely, but felt very real and had to logically think it through to make clear it was a dream when I woke up.

Does anyone else find it hard to believe they're pregnant? I did 2 positive tests but because I haven't had scan and I haven't had any symptoms that aren't things I sometimes get anyway (bloating, tiredness, cramping etc.), and I'm not talking about it to most people, it doesn't feel like it's real yet. Scan tomorrow, so hopefully that will change things, just trying to stop worrying about potential problems.

lydiangel83 · 10/05/2017 13:17

I used to be a size 10 with a normal amount of belly fat but now can barely wear a size 12 with fatty arms and legs and bum. Tummy doesn't seem to have grown, but the bad eating from first 12 wks (currently 15 wks!) has taken its toll. Am I being unrealistic to think I can tone up a bit (gentle exercise) in second trimester now that I'm feeling less nauseous?!

lydiangel83 · 10/05/2017 13:17

Oh and yes to vivid, mixed, random dreams!!

Kristen83 · 10/05/2017 13:35

Is anyone still needing to pee a lot in the night, I really reduce my water intake (its doing my head in) Aslo any of you lovely ladies have any reconmendations for the pregnancy pillow?

Have my 1st scan on Friday...its been a long 12 week wait!

MrsJB1987 · 10/05/2017 13:48

@Bearest17 where r u? We don't get booked in for scan until booking appointment! Can't wait for scan.. hoping letter arrives by end of week!! What's ur symptoms like??
