Thread #2, because apparently our "quiet" thread is rather busy! Grin

If you're new, do add yourself to the list so we can all see where we're at!

Last night I dreamt I was living with my sister and a load of farm animals! In the dream I kept thinking the pigs were going to eat me.
I also pee once/twice a night.

Foggymist · 10/05/2017 15:26

Lydia yes you can definitely tone up in second trimester, loads of exercises are fine in pregnancy!

Kristen the need to pee doesn't lessen unfortunately, it starts because of hormones but continues because baby grows and puts pressure on your bladder, definitely don't reduce your water intake, it's important to stay hydrated especially in warm weather.

GingerHanna · 10/05/2017 15:45

I had a real headf*ck of a dream the other night - was dreaming and then woke up and was reacting to the dream... and then I woke up! Really threw me for a bit.

I intend to try and get a bit fitter in T2 as T1 has been a write off. So bloody annoying as usually if I was this squidgy I'd sort my eating and workout but haven't been able to this time.

Just got confirmation that the midwife practice I wanted is happy to take me on, even though I'm one street outside of their catchment zone. Pre-natal care is very different over here and I'll now be midwife led for the rest of the pregnancy and birth, providing there are no issues. I'm planning a home birth and this practice are very pro-home birth so happy now. Also looking into a Doula as I have no family over here and whilst I have a couple of good friends I've only known them a year and not well enough to have them at the birth. Was thinking that DH and midwife would be enough but there is a strong body of evidence that Doula's do make a difference, and given we're away from home in a foreign country and want a home birth I want to give myself every advantage I can... also there are no drugs at all for home births!

Feels weird to be making firm plans. I know I need to buy some maternity clothes but just don't seem to be able to order anything. Ergh...

stuckinny · 10/05/2017 16:12

Ginger a friend of mine used a doula and would recommend them in a heartbeat. She said they were worth every penny.

I went to a baby event last night and found a sling library not to far from where I'll be moving to. To say I was stunned was an understatement...there might be hope for this country yet.
I'm determined, this time round, to do my homework before the baby comes. I worked such crazy hours before I had DS that the sudden shock of being home alone and not knowing anyone really hit me. I think it was a huge factor in me suffering from PND.

One of my favourite (British) singers is touring here the beginning of October. Ive got tickets for a show in the city and also in Boston. Poor DP said he'll come with me to Boston - I'm not sure how happy he'd be with me going alone (which I'd do and not think anything of it). The nurse this morning told me to limit traveling after 24 weeks to 3 hours away. With the hospital being closer to Boston than where I live it puts the trip under 3 hours Grin.

I have a whole two weeks before my next appointment. I've never been so happy to be left alone

MieMoosMummy · 10/05/2017 16:18

Hello ladies! Just had my 12 week scan today and due on 24th nov!
Wishing you all smooth pregnancies Grin

GingerHanna · 10/05/2017 16:38

Good to hear stuck. I'm a bit funny with strangers but have an appointment Friday next week with someone whose website really called to me. Fingers crossed.

Congrats Mie. Fantastic news.

Hazandduck · 10/05/2017 17:10

Agnu I'm in Hampshire too, whereabouts are you? I'm between Southampton and Winchester (work in Winchester.) I'll be having my l/o in Winchester, we may be in the delivery room together haha! Smile

I've had weird dreams and wake up needing a wee every night at 3 then can't get back to sleep, I've taken to reading in the middle of the night til just before dawn really. I also have been more uncomfortable this week, can't settle on a side and wedging little scatter display cushions that normally aren't on the bed while we sleep under my back for support! So weird, I'm usually a sleep on my front person but I just feel uncomfortable now. X

MieMoosMummy · 10/05/2017 17:20

Oh I had my DD in Winchester! Was Andover based at the time but have since moved over to the next county.

Foggymist · 10/05/2017 17:24

GingerHanna so jealous of your home birth plans!

Zampa · 10/05/2017 17:38

I was supposed to have a doula with DD but it didn't go to plan due to premature birth! However, we've stayed in touch and she's even babysat for DD. I'll probably have an ELCS this time so not sure I'll have chance to employ her again.

Hazandduck · 10/05/2017 18:34

Ah miemoo what a small world :) . My family have all been Winchester babies apart from me and my sister (both born at home) and it's my local hospital and they are always lovely. They looked after me for my miscarriages and went above and beyond to comfort me and OH. I have friend in Andover, a random village called Penton Mewsey! X

Bearest17 · 10/05/2017 18:39

MrsJB - I'm in Berkshire. Here the GP gives gives all the forms for scan and blood tests and you phone the hosp maternity ultrasound dept yourself to make the appointment.

I did have to check with the doctors that I wasn't going to get turned away from my scan because I hadn't seen a midwife yet! I've had to wait 5 weeks for the next available midwife appointment!

butterybollocks · 10/05/2017 19:16

Haz I also wake at 3 (well, 3.15 to be precise) and struggle to get back to sleep. DD is an early riser so although I do eventually get back to sleep I'm always then awake again at 6am. I stayed in a hotel last night and had a lie in until 7.15am!

I still sleep with my pregnancy pillow from 5 years ago. It's falling apart now so I've promised myself a new one after the dating scan. They make such a difference in getting comfy.

Hazandduck · 10/05/2017 21:01

Buttery oh that is harsh! Must be knackering with a little one already to look after! I don't know how people do it, I've honestly been barely looking after myself the last couple of months I've been so shattered all the time. It's crazy! Glad I'm not alone in the 3am club though haha x

Mummyagainmaybe · 10/05/2017 21:30

ginger I like your unconventional scan. I'd love to have a home birth but it's just not practical given the plumbing in my flat. I wouldn't be comfortable in the rooms close to the bathroom and I'm desperate to have another water birth. At least if it's in the hospital we don't have the clean up to do!

MrsJB1987 · 10/05/2017 21:43

@Bearest17 where I am the doctor doesn't do anything just confirm ur pregnant and then I booked the booking appointment and they sort everything now!! Hope everything goes well on Friday!

AGnu · 10/05/2017 23:04

I'm South West - nowhere near Hampshire. I have no idea why I needed to drive several hours to do an exam! Stupid dreams!

I'm exhausted today. I spent the morning on the sofa with a bad headache & we were out of the house for a whole 4 hours this afternoon. I've somehow managed to stay awake all evening & now I've got a tired-headache & feel queasy just because I'm shattered! Little bit scared to go to sleep tonight, I'm scared what I might dream about!

Nice to see we are all in the same boat, woke up from a particularly horror dream at 3am, DH had apparently been playing away with a host of floozies over the 13 years we've been together, of course he hasn't, I could ask for a more devoted partner, but didn't mean my firsts reaction when I woke up wasn't to punch him straight in the tit... making me non too popular Grin

Speaking of the breasticles, I think I'm in for one hell of a run, I've jumped from a 38 C/D to a 40E... and have rather dry cracked and VERY itchy nips... delightful.

12 week scan on Tuesday, rather excited to see something that doesn't look like a kidney bean in a larger kidney bean Hmm

Has anyone started shopping yet? I've had to resort to maternity jeans/trousers and new bras so far, but feeling the draw of sleep suits and teeny tiny baby grows already....

MrsC1982 · 11/05/2017 06:01

Apparently I can also no longer type on this level of sleep deprivation either... apologies for the typos, but you get the gist....

Mutiny0nTheBunty · 11/05/2017 06:20

Had scan on Tuesday and it's twins!!! Shock Proper real life twins!

There are no twins in the family and I'd worked myself up into such a state about whether the baby would be ok that the poor midwife had to literally point at the screen and count them for me.

DH looked dazed for the rest of the day. DS is super excited that his wish for twins came true. I'm just a weird combination of shocked and very happy Smile

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 11/05/2017 06:52

Congratulations Bunty! What exciting news. I'd be doing exactly the same counting if I was in your situation.

MrsC I've not dared to measure mine but they have Exploded. I was a 32DD before but now I can't get in to most of my tops and dresses.
I've been wearing sports bra style bralet things from primark but not sure how much longer they can take the strain and I'm not 12 weeks until tomorrow!
I'm hoping to level off the weight gain for the second trimester so hopefully they won't get any worse for a while.

DuRezidal · 11/05/2017 07:01

Oh my word, twins!!! Congratulations.

I am so busy at the moment with the stud season in full flow that I hardly have time to think about myself. In some ways that is good because I am almost 14 weeks and it is flying by, but in other ways we have so much to organise before the baby arrives.

pomadas87 · 11/05/2017 07:06

bunty double congratulations! How exciting!!

GingerHanna · 11/05/2017 07:39

Congrats bunty that's fantastic!

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 11/05/2017 07:51

Oh lord, just measured and I think I'm now a 32G! Unless there's a double E or double F size? Ribs are still the same but boobs are now three inches bigger than they were
