Thread #2, because apparently our "quiet" thread is rather busy! Grin

If you're new, do add yourself to the list so we can all see where we're at!

Glad to hear you had a healthy scan @pomadas87

Teacher it was lovely to see your scan. I'm sure I did similar on my last pregnancy but somewhere where you can edit your own posts!

tmc14 · 07/05/2017 07:41

Hi all, catching up on over 2 weeks of messages. I've been away getting married & being on honeymoon, luckily the fatigue was wearing off so got to do all the things I wanted!!

12 week scan tomorrow, have to go in early to tell work I'm pregnant and will be nipping out for a few hours... not ideal but the only way. Excited/nervous about the scan.

Good to see others scan pics.

Tea - so sorry to hear your news. Take care.

Hope others are well xxx

Hazandduck · 07/05/2017 09:26

Congratulations tmc on your wedding! Your work will think that was a very quick honeymoon baby lol x

Hazandduck · 07/05/2017 12:01

God I feel awful. Made OH cry this morning. Basically he brought me up breakfast in bed which he always does on weekends, and then went to lean on my lower tummy with his elbow. I straightaway said no get off and got really angry, because how can he be so stupid to risk something like that! He thought I majorly overreacted. The argument then escalated, because I've had 2 MCs before, last year, and with the second one he leant on my stomach in the same way and I stupidly brought that up and said look what happened last time. He went crazy, actually smashed a photo frame, and he is usually the most calm laid back man in the world, then sat with his head in his hands crying. I'm crying again just writing this, why did I say it I'm so stupid and horrible! Then lots of hugging and sorrys and I love yous and we are ok. I just still feel awful. Pregnancy makes me such a bitch! I just feel so overprotective of this little thing inside me I can't describe it. X

lydiangel83 · 07/05/2017 12:49

Congrats @tmc14 and good luck with work! Currently in Japan too and loving it but also craving a bowl of all bran and a banana lol! I'm veggie so makes food a bit tricky!

Mummyagainmaybe · 07/05/2017 13:14

Congratulations on your wedding tmc.

Haz, I'm a proper grouch too. It passes x

izzibee29 · 07/05/2017 13:18

Hi Teacher

I'm 12 weeks today and have first scan on Wednesday, can't wait!

Am telling my side of the family next Saturday too, which will be brilliant as my Sister works for Boden so as soon as Bump is born we know there will be plenty of super cute embroidered or patterned pieces coming our way 👍.

Hazandduck · 07/05/2017 14:09

Thanks mummy I do hate being such a cow bag. We never argue it's just not like us! Glad it was all over very quickly though x

MedicineHat · 07/05/2017 14:23

Just hopping over from the other November thread - hope that's ok! I'm 14+2 with DC2, due 6th November.

buttery my DC has had suspected slapped cheek this past week. Not a really obvious case but possible. I've had bloods taken to check my immunity. Hopefully i'll get the results next week. It's making me really nervous to be honest.

thecrab · 07/05/2017 15:27

I had an email from my sons nursery the other, 8 confirmed cases of chicken pox! I really hope he doesn't get it, I've already had it but I'm sure it's still risky for baby

upforathird · 07/05/2017 19:51

Hi @thecrab first time posting on this thread but just wanted to reassure you that if you're immune you're absolutely fine. If you can't remember for sure just get the doc to do a blood test to confirm. There are very few adults who are not immune.

butterybollocks · 07/05/2017 21:00

@Medicinehat it's worrying isn't it? I just keep trying to tell myself that the chances of anything going wrong are so so small. But I'm still worrying!

AGnu · 07/05/2017 21:49

I've been actively trying to infect my DC with chicken pox. DH had it as an adult so he's keen that they should get it when they're young. No luck yet though. Several of our friends' DCs had it recently but despite encouraging our DC to hug them there's not been a single spot! I'd have rubbed them against more children if I'd not been feeling so rubbish recently.

Got my scan at lunch time tomorrow. The DC think they're going to a friend's house for lunch without us because it'll be an adventure... It's not that we've got anywhere to be or anything... Grin I'm swinging wildly between "everything's going to be fine", "que sera, sera" & "there's not going to be a baby, it's probably a tumour." Hmm DH is actually sounding vaguely interested in the pregnancy now & I feel like I should warn him that it's actually probably a tumour! Also, I think it's twins. No reason to, I just do. I did last time too & it wasn't. I'm going to watch a bit of trashy TV & try to get to bed before too long. I'll only drive myself mad thinking about all the possibilities!

I'm also being really mean to everyone. I actually shouted at DH & the DC for tidying while I was sleeping. In my defence, I'd accidentally fallen asleep on the sofa again & they just came in & started clattering around with lego with no warning. In their defence, I'd suggested we do tidying after lunch & they were just sticking to my plan! I felt really horrible when I woke up enough to feel anything other than annoyed that I'd been woken up. I'd already burst into tears & demanded DH take the DC into the garden to play at that point! Hormones are evil.

Good luck with the scan today AGnu.

I'm officially in the second trimester now, from memory this is the one that goes really quickly before the third trimester slows right down again especially as due date approaches. Nausea is definitely waning & Im starting to snack less & eat a wider range of foods again, hurrah! Still absolutely exhausted though. I could have cried on Saturday night I was so tired & it was only 9pm. Hoping that improves soon as I've got lots of study & two assignments to do before the end of June.

MrsGB2225 · 08/05/2017 09:12

Good luck today AGnu!

We had 2 weddings this weekend so feeling tired today from the late nights and traveling. As soon as I wake up in the morning, I'm looking forward to getting back into bed!

Can't wait until my scan on Friday to know everything is ok. Then we can finally tell our wider circle! We have a big dinner to go to Friday night so it will be nice to announce it then.

I think there's quite a lot of us getting scans on Friday so I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's scan pictures.

tmc14 · 08/05/2017 09:35

Lydia - I really enjoyed my muesli and banana the first morning back!! Being veggie there must be tough, My digestion really suffered from lack of fruit/veg. Hope you're having a fab time though!

butterybollocks · 08/05/2017 09:48

Good luck for the scan AGnu!

It's my birthday today...I've taken the day off and planned to go and see my pony (in ten years I've never not seen him on my birthday). What I've actually ended up doing is spending 40 mins on hold to the doctors and I have an appt later this morning to discuss the risk of slapped cheek. So I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today.

I'm a total bitch to my husband at the moment.... I just get the rage at him out of nowhere. He's just taken to ignoring me.

GingerHanna · 08/05/2017 09:54

I've taken my first sick day in two years as just feel so crap. Exhausted, headache, sore throat, cramps which are probably wind etc etc.

Know that I have work piling up but just need a day of rest. Looking forward to the scan tomorrow.

Zampa · 08/05/2017 10:49

Ginger I've taken a half day this morning in sympathy. DD was up at 0430 and wanted to play. DP gave in at 0630 and I went back to sleep until 0900!

My pregnancy app told me that the placenta is taking over now (11 weeks). That's when you stop feeling like crap, right?!

GingerHanna · 08/05/2017 10:52

Haha Zampa do not be fooled! Yes symptoms may start to lessen but they will not suddenly disappear and leave you a new woman! I'm 12+3 now and yes they have lessened but there are still good days and bad days. I'm hoping another couple of weeks and I'll be back as normal... but who knows.

Right, I really must think about lunch now. (One hour ahead of U.K. time here and we culturally eat early so I'm hungry now. It's nice that I can now go between breakfast and lunch with only a square of dark chocolate to tame the nausea instead of ALL THE CARBS!

Zampa · 08/05/2017 12:15

I just don't remember it being anywhere near as bad as this the first time around!

lydiangel83 · 08/05/2017 12:31

@Zampa and @GingerHanna hope you both feel better soon! I've eaten all the carbs and now at 14+5 just hungry all the time but finally less nauseous. Feel like a giant jelly as lost any fitness and muscle tone - keep telling myself I will sort it out once back from holiday. Can't believe how quickly time is going, I think jumping from thinking I was 9+6 to finding out I was 13+2 hasn't helped!! Just glad symptoms improving (except mid swings and extreme fattiness!)

Mummyagainmaybe · 08/05/2017 12:56

AGnu, good luck with your scan. I've got mine at 2.

Was my birthday last Wednesday. Was quiet but my 2 year old made it really sweet. Lots of singing and balloons plus cake.

Hope everyone suffering starts to feel better soon x

Hazandduck · 08/05/2017 13:17

Good luck for all the scans this week! Mine is a week today, it's going to drag so much. I feel nervous already x

Hopeful25 · 08/05/2017 13:50

Good luck with scans today xxx I've got mine on Thursday and can't wait :)
