Wow Lydia glad you had scan . Will
You get 12 week scan before your holiday now? Xx

stuckinny · 28/04/2017 10:45

Wow Lydiangel that's quite a jump. I'm glad everything is okay.
It's strange how often our instincts are rights about things.

Met with the dr yesterday afternoon for all of 30 seconds, lol. The appointment was so fast. He still wants to do the scan next week and measure the nuchal fold. DP has a meeting that he can't change so I have to call the hospital this morning to see if I can get another slot.

DP also didn't make it to the appointment yesterday so I've been carrying around an envelope with the sex of the baby. It's driving me bonkers not knowing and yet knowing the answer is so close. This evening can't come quick enough.

I'm waking early again, and as a result am wrecked in the evenings. I thought at first it might have been as I had been getting up so early last week but its been nearly a week and I'm still awake before the birds. The upside is that I'm getting stuff done and feel like I'm being a little productive.

So far I've not had too many problems with my clothes but I also haven't worn jeans in quite some time. I've been making a conscious effort to wear less fitted tops at work though just in case its more obvious that I think. I was weighed yesterday and have only put on 4 oz since last month - a miracle given I was away and eating all kinds of junk.

lydiangel83 · 28/04/2017 12:25

Thanks guys! @Hopeful25 No the 12 wk scan has been cancelled as I'll actually be nearly 16 wks then!

Not sure how I got it so wrong lol! Either that or midwife got it wrong! So glad I managed to get tests done today, had been looking forward to 12 wk scan so all feels a bit of a blur now! 20 wk scan rescheduled for June!

butterybollocks · 28/04/2017 12:29

Kimbles Flowers for tomorrow.

I finally have a scan date....16th may. I'll be 13+1 then. Feels like ages away but at least it's a date!

I'm feeling particularly anxious at the moment about whether everything is OK in there.

TeaAndPjs · 28/04/2017 14:42

lydia you'll be having your 20 week scan the same month as I have 12 week lol

Mummyagainmaybe · 28/04/2017 15:16

kimblesj that must be really tough. So sorry. My brother's twin was stillborn and my mum didn't know she was having twins so thought she'd lost the pregnancy. 37 years later and she still gets emotional about his sister when she reflects. I hope you can commemorate in a way that helps x

lydiangel83 · 28/04/2017 16:13

@TeaAndPjs good point I'm only just still eligible for this group as EDD 1/11 now! I'd like to still join in the fun though :)

lydiangel83 · 28/04/2017 16:14

Sorry @kimblesj hugs to you it must be so tough xx

DuRezidal · 28/04/2017 20:20

The midwife who took my bloods has made a real mess of my vein! I have lots of bloods taken as I am B12 deficient and I have never ever known this to happen.

As she extracted the needle I felt a really hot Sharp pain all down my arm and then the vein went huge and there was a lot of bleeding both under the skin and out of the injection site.

theotherendofthesockportal · 28/04/2017 20:26

@DuRezidal I'm b12 deficient too, are they giving you any extra treatments for your pregnancy?

lydiangel83 · 28/04/2017 20:48

@DuRezidal that sounds horrible poor you :( @theotherendofthesockportal I am also B12 deficient and just told me to take vits from Boots x

theotherendofthesockportal · 28/04/2017 22:01

@lydiangel83 I have b12 injections every 3 months to keep my levels up. I think the baby is zapping all mine at the moment as I feel unbelievably wiped out - all worth it though

TeaAndPjs · 28/04/2017 23:15

lydia least you still male it, when I go this week for scan and get told how far along I am, if I'm a few weeks behind like they say then I'm not even in November anymore lol

stuckinny · 29/04/2017 04:10

Flowers to you kimblesj.

We opened the envelope this evening. It's a...boy! It suddenly all feels very real. We told DPs parents too. They thought we were messing with them at first. Next hurdle is to tell DS on Sunday Confused

MrsGB2225 · 29/04/2017 06:44

Sending you lots of hugs today kimbles.

Congratulations stuck! That's amazing to know. Now to start arguing over boy names Grin

DuRezidal · 29/04/2017 06:59

I am unable to absorb b12 so no matter how much I ingest it doesn't get into my system.

My levels were quite low prior to the pregnancy so I have the injections every 8 weeks which seems to do the trick.

I am now worried because I will be having another blood test on Tuesday at my screening scan and there is no way they will get near my left arm so will have to use my right arm or my hand!

Congratulations @stuckinny , I can't wait to find out what we are having. I am going to see if my vet will let me borrow his scanner when I hit the 16 weeks mark!

MrsC1982 · 29/04/2017 08:02

Private scan this morning, and what turns up in the post... 12 week scan date Grin Sod's law!

We booked a private scan because getting bfp a day before af is due is too long to wait until 12 week scan which is usually at 13-14 weeks here. Ended up getting free second private scan and 12 week one is now at 11 weeks weirdly.

lydiangel83 · 29/04/2017 08:41

Hi @NatalieKirk I didn't have private scan mine was via NHS EPU because of abdominal pain. I was ok with waiting for 12 wk scan because it didn't occur to me that timings could be incorrect, as @Foggymist has pointed out!

MrsC1982 · 29/04/2017 09:03

I'm getting it because my poxy village grape vine has gone batshit, so I'm going to check everything is ok today and then announce... didn't want friends finding out through some gossiping old fish wife in the chippy Grin

AGnu · 29/04/2017 13:29

I'm not getting a private scan - only 9 days to go until my 12 week scan! I am, however, getting an appt with an obstetrician, apparently. No idea why but I got a letter through to go to the clinic to see a doctor a couple of weeks after the scan. Genuinely no idea why! The midwife commented that I was low risk at booking in & said they'd call if there was any problem with my blood tests. It's while we're away so I'll have to rearrange it at the least, will ask why it's been booked when I call. I suspect it's a mistake - I had a phonecall from a MW yesterday congratulating someone else on the birth of her baby... I'm somewhat losing faith in my local midwives!

I've finally got a dress for the wedding we're going to. I grabbed every dress I didn't hate in TK Maxx 2 & bought the one I disliked the least. I hate shopping! It's only a few weeks away now so hopefully my bump won't have grown too much by then. It's figure-hugging but not tight so the bump will be visible but hopefully not squished in! Home now & exhausted from a whole hour of shopping!

I didn't have a private scan this time, just one at EPU because of previous MCs. With DS I had one at EPU & a private scan. I am considering a private gender scan at 16 weeks so we can tell DS about the baby & whether he's having a brother or sister at the same time. I would wait until 20 weeks but I'll definitely be showing by then & want to tell DS before he realises. I think knowing the gender might help him take it in a bit better. He keeps calling everyone brother at the moment so I think he'd be very happy with a boy.

Foggymist · 29/04/2017 14:58

AGnu I've weddings in July and August, I'll be a big frumpy feck! I will have to borrow a dress or something because I have so many I can't justify buying more, I never managed to resell the beautiful maxi dress I bought for a wedding a week before my son was born.

butterybollocks · 29/04/2017 16:23

Congratulations stuckinny how exciting! I can't wait to find out the sex at 20 weeks although I don't mind which it is Smile

My little girl looked at me this morning and said "you look like you've got a baby in your tummy. When is it coming out?" Shock I sort of laughed it off as don't want to tell her until after the scan in 2 weeks time.

I felt much better yesterday and thought my symptoms were lifting a bit - feel rubbish today!
