Oh god vinegar yuck! ConfusedConfusedConfused just thinking about the smell turns my stomach now! The saltier the better though

DoctorDonnaNoble · 22/04/2017 14:58

I hate salt and vinegar at the best of times. Now is not the best of times.

fishfingerSarnies · 22/04/2017 15:10

Supposedly salty cravings mean a boy! We will have to see if this pans out with you salty craving people.
I definitely craved salt when I was pregnant with my son, I'd never really salted my food until his pregnancy and then I was just thinking of food that would be good with loads of salt on! Tomatoes covered in salt are great!
No cravings yet but I guess it's too early! I just hope this pregnancy cravings are healthy.

Mrsbluebell17 · 22/04/2017 15:16

Back from my unsuccessful nap. At least I laid on the sofa for an hour or so but I only drifted off briefly. Now need to get back to my report.

I'm another one craving salt. I've eaten two grab bags of ready salted crisps this week. Usually I wouldn't dream of picking up ready salted!!

Really craving hot dogs, salt chippy chips and fish finger sarnie at the moment after reading all your posts over the last few days!

leighdinglady · 22/04/2017 15:32

fishfinger they also say boys give you spotty skin - I must be having male triplets!

Chamonix1 · 22/04/2017 15:39

God I've eaten so badly the past week. I was doing so well before and really felt great. Obviously unlikely I'm going to feel great whilst I have morning sickness but has anyone got any plainish and light snacks I may be able to stomach?
I've eaten my way through a small pack of rich tea biscuits today and just want white bread and crisps...this is not good!

Mrsbluebell17 · 22/04/2017 15:59

Cham I'm eating badly too and yet ive not even got the sickness!
I just want to constantly eat.

I just had some sourdough crackers with some laughing cow light cheese on. Tastes good. Not too rich.

Leighding and fishfinger maybe I'm having a boy then as I'm spotty as crazy on my chin and also craving salty foods like they are going out of fashion!! Smile we would just be delighted either way for a boy or a girl, but we do have a stronger decision on a boys name haha so that might make it easy.
Although DHs family have four younger boys so they'd love us to have a girl I think.

Does anyone else have names they like lined up?

TootsyBella84 · 22/04/2017 16:08

We have a boy and a girl, with my girl I loved haribo and with my boy I didn't really have cravings, I had hyperemesis and could barely even stomach water! 🤢
With the mc's I just had nausea/minimal sickness and only really went off coffee, eating was still okay but my main craving was fish finger sandwiches on nice soft white bread and lots of butter and tomato sauce lol.
I think I would like another boy but the main aim is a healthy bub! We've got a few names picked out for both already.

Snacks I'm stomaching, pistachios, digestives with hummus, ready salted crisps. I'm loving orange lucozade too! I'm being so unhealthy 🙈 I've totally gone off coffee and tea, I normally like a hot drink in the morning so need to try and find something I can stomach!

TipTop333 · 22/04/2017 16:16

I've just eaten a whole bowl of tuna mayonnaise. With extra salt and vinegar.
I need help.

I genuinely don't think it's a boy/girl thing for me, I think it's a nausea/first trimester thing. My salty cravings disappeared after 12 week last time unfortunately

OP posts:
leighdinglady · 22/04/2017 16:32

I don't mind if we have a boy or a girl, however I have a girl's name that I absolutely love and can't think of any boys names, so I kind of hope for a girlGrin

MummyHenman2be · 22/04/2017 16:46

Good afternoon everyone!

I will be 6 weeks tomorrow and the nausea really kicked in this morning! I had multiple crackers and ginger nut biscuits to try and ease it.

Had a macdonalds for lunch and that didn't do the trick either!! Nausea suddenly disappeared at about 3pm!

Don't know if it was because I genuinely didn't feel sick anymore or because we were busy!

We're having a party this evening so have been decorating the hall all afternoon. Long story short, we got married nearly 7 months ago and I broke my ankle at the reception! Ended up in a and e and surgery- not really how we imagined ending our wedding evening! So this is a reception mark 2! Only family knows about the baby so it's going to be difficult keeping it a secret tonight!

Any ideas on hiding not having an alcoholic drink??

Luckily there's lots of buffet food so that should keep the nausea at bay should it return!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend ❤️

Beardy1 · 22/04/2017 16:51

cham I'm living on rice cakes with butter and marmite, Obsessed by really juicy oranges, oatcakes dry and the odd avocado on toast. I'm determined to not eat too much rubbish but I've also had jacket potato, cheese and beans, pizza, fish sandwich and subway ( totally agree about vinegar gherkins and jalapenos ) . I've found a major difference by drinking gallons of ginger tea. If I drink enough I can actually stomach some kind of normal food. Woop
My mornings are dreadful until about 1 and then it appears to calm down and ramp up at night.

Beardy1 · 22/04/2017 16:53

mummy jese what a nightmare at your reception. How did you manage to do that?

Well I hope you enjoy tonight, you definetly deserve it.

SushiNushi · 22/04/2017 16:55

Loving hearing all about these salty cravings! All i want to eat is mountains of potatoes waffles and fish fingers covered in brown sauce. And anything yellow or cream coloured. Vegetables are the enemy. I never expected to feel like this! I feel so unprepared for pregnancy.

Mummyhenman try appletiser in a flute to look like prosecco, then lemonade with a slice of lemon or lime to look like a g and t. If someone gives you a drink, take it, have a few tiny sips then just leave it somewhere. Honestly no one will notice!

MummyHenman2be · 22/04/2017 16:57

@Beardy1 I just simply turned round to face my husband and twisted my ankle about 8 times to either side- it wasn't anything spectacular! Had to have it pinned and plated 😞

Been a struggle but now we are pregnant we are on top of the world and the ankle seems much less significant!

On a side note- anyone having bladder issues?

Pre-pregnancy I would get painful UTI symptoms for approx 2 hours and then they would just disappear. After much investigation, the doctors found no reason and there was never an infection or anything!

With the uterus pushing on the bladder now it's happening rather frequently and is almost worse than nausea!!

Angielka · 22/04/2017 17:03

I got salt and vinegar ridged crisps today and they have been my saviour! Shock totally with those of you craving salty stuff. When I was pregnant with my DDs I used to get through whole packets of chocolate biscuits but I cannot face chocolate now... DH would love a boy, but I feel like I understand girls Grin

Angielka · 22/04/2017 17:04

Oh that sounds uncomfortable henman Confused** sorry you're going through that. No advice I'm afraid. Worth googling? Hmm

MummyHenman2be · 22/04/2017 17:16

@Angielka very uncomfortable! Luckily I've learnt that if I lay down and chill and try to stay calm for an hour or so that it goes away quicker.

Cranberry juice seems to help but think that could be mind over matter!

I was meant to have a procedure to look into my bladder but they don't do it if pregnant obviously so if it's still happening then I will have it done afterwards.

It could be interstitial cystitis but not all the symptoms add up so who knows!!

The doctor thinks hormones and uterus are aggravating it. I'll put up with it for the little one growing inside there for sure!

Mrsbluebell17 · 22/04/2017 17:30

Sorry I can't help with your* bladder issues henman* as the only issue I've got is that I can't stop peeing. Shock

Your reception and ankle break sounds like a real trauma - hope you enjoy tonight. I would strongly recommend schloer if you can get some. There's one that looks like rose or the normal one looks like prosecco if in a prosecco flute. I also second the fake g&t trick - adding a slice of lime or cucumber throws people off sent. Another thing I read recently - can't remember if it was on this thread so apologies if it was - but was about filling up an empty lager or cider can with lemonade or something if you drink lager or cider usually.

Hope that helps. Enjoy your party. I'm still writing this damned report Hmm

Mrsbluebell17 · 22/04/2017 17:30

Oh dear. Total bold fail on the last post there. Sorry, henman that post was for you Smile

MummyHenman2be · 22/04/2017 17:34

Thank you Bluebell

Hope you get your report done :)

QueenFlower · 22/04/2017 18:10

Hello ladies, how can I join the groups pls?

We just found out few days ago that I'm pregnant (5 weeks) whilst travelling across Vietnam. We are freaked out at the mom as we started reading about Zika virus spreading here as well and we still have one week of vacation left.

There seems to be no moschitos, so far, at the resort but we were planning to spend few days in Ho Chi Minh City few days prior to flying back to the uk and that's the city where most outbreaks has happened. Thinking seriously now to cut our holiday short.

Otherwise, I feel well apart from the boobs hurting and growing..

leighdinglady · 22/04/2017 18:14

queen don't worry too much. Cover yourself in 100% deet whilst you decide. And wear long clothes. I wouldn't worry about it personally. It's so rare. If you do decide to stay - I loooved HCM on our honeymoon!

Beardy1 · 22/04/2017 18:32

mummy that sounds truly horrific. Well enjoy tonight and I hope you manage to hide the drinking issue as best you can

MontyPants · 22/04/2017 18:37

Told family and close friends today. I'm very almost at the 8 week point so just decided to go for it. I'm not going to be superstitious. Everyone's very excited. Parents crying. Filmed their reaction which was brilliant.

And I've just DEMOLISHED a KFC. My appetite was lacking the last couple of days, and all of a sudden I was starving. Going for a nap now to sleep it off before my night shift
