Nettee · 12/04/2007 09:10

Hello everyone, great to see all the new people joining. I am finally properly better from morning sickness - as long as I eat my breakfast as soon as I get up - so am very happy. I have been cooking interesting things again and walking the dogs properly in the sunshine. I am even planning to go to aquanatal next week - Hope DS copes with the gym creche for an hour.

Scan in just over a week - looking forward to that - but then I have to talk to the consultant about my previous 3rd degree tear. Just hope he says something along the lines of "don't worry, not likely to happen again, go ahead with the home birth plan" but we will have to see.

Ate far too many easter eggs last weekend so bump is growing fast - I think the post pregnancy diet is going to be a long old slog.

Pennypops · 12/04/2007 13:51

Hi everyone,

Nettee - v happy for you that your ms is on its way out. Isn't it just like a great big cloud disappearing? I haven't forgotten the utter misery of it. I'm exactly the same as you in that I have to eat almost as soon as I get up otherwise it can still all go a bit wrong. Enjoy the renewed energy! I am swimming and walking loads while I can because you never know when the next batch of body wierdness will come along again. This is my first pg and it just feels like a magical mystery tour - I never know what to expect from one day to the next. Hope your meeting with your consultant goes well and that you can have the birth you want.

MrsMar/Gils/Poppy - I started the dress hunt yesterday - the Isabella Oliver website has some really nice dresses if your budget is reasonable. A friend of mine got a plain wrap dress from there and lived in it for a lot of her pregnancy so they are really good cut and quality.

Working from home today and managed to lock myself out the house this morning! Pregnancy is making me so absent minded. Had to wait 2 hours for a locksmith - doh!

Rin23 · 12/04/2007 13:58

MrsMar & Canadianmum - I'm at St Georges too. Was also told St Thomas' full. It'll be one in one out at this rate. I wonder if anyone got into St Thomas's or Chelsea?

Does anyone else feel hardly any symptoms now? Growing bump is the only thing... surely that can't just be Easter eggs? Am hoping it's not bad news.

Luxmum · 12/04/2007 14:08

Hello,
I'm feeling fine myself, too, not too many symptoms this time round. My MS went over a month ago thank God, so other than general tiredness, I'm doing ok. I just desperatly need maternity clothes, which as I'm abroad, I will have to order over the internet. Can anyone reccomend any good web sites for work maternity clothes, and nice jeans? I THINK I felt 'it' kick today, but am not sure if it's a kick, or just my tummy protesting from me eating an entire cheesecake in one go. I highly reccomend that by the way, YUM.

MrsMar · 12/04/2007 14:11

Hi Rin, nice to meet another st Georges person! At this rate they'll be lining us up in the corridors!

I don't really have any pregnancy symptoms now, big belly, occasional cramping as muscles and uterus stretch, and nipples "the size of fighter pilots thumbs"!!! I too worry about this, I'm slightly reassured by the nipple thing, until I realise how ridiculous I look! I'm trying not to worry too much though, the odds are pretty good for us all now! I'm sure everything's fine with you. When's your next scan? I'm in on the 17th May, four weeks now. Can't wait. I'm sure I'm feeling the odd fluttery sensation, but my sister said that at your 20 week scan suddenly all those weird sensations make sense, as you can relate them to movements on the screen.

Pennypops · 12/04/2007 14:40

Loving the cheesecake idea Luxmum - I am personally trying to set a record for how many creme eggs I can eat in a day. Not massively original I know but I have got a lot of stuff from bloomingmarvellous.com - the plain black stretchy trousers are perfect for work and they are blissfully comfy. I bought 2 pairs and live in them - I put fairly cheap and cheeful smocks and little dresses over the top of the trousers. They also have lots of nice wrap tops and dresses and stuff. As for jeans - I have to wear my dh's with a hairband across the button increase the waist measurement!

I don't really have any major symptoms now - although my boobs hurt at night sometimes which is completely random. Rin - I am with you on the giant nips thing! My dh says mine have got a lot darker and bigger. I still get tired more easily and sometimes my bump feels really uncomfortable - like I can feel the fluid sloshing around . Sometimes I think my baby is actually using my bladder for a pillow - I can't specifically feel it move but I can tell when it is in a position that puts pressure on my bladder or um, bowel. Sorry, prob too much info there.

Puppie · 12/04/2007 14:43

Canadianmum how are you getting on with your tummy bug? I'm in bed with one at the moment and the last time I had something like this I was on holiday in egypt and had to be put on a drip! Did doc say baby would be okay as I couldnt really get a straight answer out of my GP. I just know the tummy cramps kill with it!

PurpleLostPrincess · 12/04/2007 14:46

Hi all. So glad to hear the ms is starting to fade for some. Mine is nearly gone but again, I have to make sure I eat little and often or it all goes pear-shaped! I had my glucose tolerance test yesterday and had to starve from the night before - this meant I spent the rest of the day feeling really sick!!

Haven't had much time to think about it today - have spent the morning clearing the garden and doing runs to the tip. My son helped with the heavy stuff and was great bless him! Despite his help, I have done so much lifting and bending that my hips and lower back are in agony!!!! I wouldn't mind but it was all because we had a family coming to view the house this afternoon but they texted to say they weren't coming - DH didn't pick up the text till hours later LOL! So, I'm now enjoying a lovely clean and tidy house ROFL!!! (DH did the house while DS and I did the garden).

kinki - I really feel for you - my cat was 24 years old when she died and it broke my heart!

Have invited my Mum to my 20 week scan on 4th May - DH will have only just started his job (next week) and although his boss would probably let him have the time off, he'd rather not rock the boat in the first few weeks. I'm really happy Mum can make it (usually have to book her months in advance!) but a bit disappointed DH won't be there - I wanted him to be the first to know if its a boy or girl .

Pennypops · 12/04/2007 14:54

Am addressing comments to wrong people again - such personal ones too! Meant MrsMar not Rin. My brain is melting.

Puppie · 12/04/2007 14:56

Hi there Luxmum, have you tried this site?
www.mamasandpapas.co.uk/category.php?id=128

kinki · 12/04/2007 14:57

Thanks PLP. I went to the vets yesterday to sort out details about her cremation, and promptly broke down in floods of tears. I wanted to tell them I'm pregnant and hormonal but I couldn't even get the words out. Just made the payment and left. I'm overwhelmed how overwhelmed I am.

Hopeitwontbebig · 12/04/2007 14:58

Afternoon lovely ladies, hi Puppy, when are you due? Sorry you've got a tummy bug.

Penny, how many creme eggs are you up to so far?

MrsMar - LOL at your nips, snap here, maybe we should call our next thread 'Big Nips'!!! - funny

I bought some maternity jeans from Dorothy Perkins but had to take them back because they kept falling down, I found they were just a funny fit. When I was having DS1 and DS2 the maternity jeans I had had this massive elastic waist band that came up almost to your boobs, not very flattering, but really comfy. At the moment I have one pair of leggings and a skirt.... need to buy more! Just got Bloomin Marvellous catalogue through in post, will have a look in there.

I saw a good idea on another Anti-natal thread for 20 week scan dates. I've started it below, will be great to see when everyone's scan dates are coming up. Add yourself to the list the next time you post. x x

20 week scan dates:
9th May - hopeitwontbebig

Hiya Back Hopeitwontbebig! I'm due on 21st September. Oh and to add to the nips conversation mine are like bath plugs now!

spraklynewthing · 12/04/2007 15:09

Sorry to hear some of you have a rough time. I to have had a week of general illness and woe.

Started with having a wisdom tooth removed on Friday before last, then developed an infection in the socket and had to have nuclear strength antibiotics to clear it THEN, on good friday, began the world's itchest bout of thrush ever (Sorry TMI!!! ). After two days of itching I had to ring the midwife on Sunday to plead for a cure. A nice dose of canestan later and all seems well.

What a pathetic story of woe eh?!

Best wishes to all and hope the sun is shining where you are!

Rin23 · 12/04/2007 15:12

My next scan is 24 May - seems ages away.
Re: nips etc - lol - I can't say mine have changed hugely but my bosoms are growing at an indecent rate (maybe that's why I haven't noticed the nips). It's good to know some others of you don't have many obvious symptoms now too - and I'm not complaining - first 3 months I was like a zombie!

Rin23 · 12/04/2007 15:13

just realised I'll be 23 weeks by time of scan!

Hopeitwontbebig · 12/04/2007 15:14

Hi Sprakly, woohoo your scan is soooooooooon, sorry you've had it a bit rough with your teeth and thrush. I had my two top wisdom teeth removed when I was pregnant with DS2, I think the worst bit was the sound, crunch crunch, ooh the painful memories yuk. Sometimes antibiotics can give you terrible thrush , not fun at all. Glad you're on the mend.... keep gargling those salt washes!!!

HIWBB - fab idea with the scan dates table! I'm up 3 creme eggs so far but reckon I can fit some more in after tea!
Spraklynewthing - you have been in the wars but look on the bright side it can only get better from here.

Hi HIWBB

I know scan in less than two week, yey! Fingers crossed all is well. Also seeing consultant on the same day to discuss c-section, due to dodgy pelvis. I feel really good at the minute and actually look quite well, which is a novelty. The bean is also jumping around a lot now so I hope this is a good sign.

Oh yeah - the crunch of the tooth coming out is grim! Mind you that was nothing compared to the agony of my itchy bits - argggghhh! - so pleased it is on the mend.

Actually i have been meaning to respond to your post - i think it was you! - regarding your DP/DH and an arm injury he sustained? Is this you or am I going daft?!

Puppie · 12/04/2007 15:25

I'm going to be 18wks+3 before I even have my 1st blood tests so goodness knows when my next scan will be! Everything seems delayed with my antenatal care. Is anyone going to have one of those 4D ones later on?

Hopeitwontbebig · 12/04/2007 15:29

20 week scan dates:
23rd April - Fiofio
23rd April - pennypops
25th April - Spraklynewthing (will be 22 wks!)
4th May - Purplelostprincess
9th May - hopeitwontbebig
17th May - MrsMar

Sprakly, yes it is my DH who suffered arm injury bless him, it's called a Brachial Plexus injury. Yeah would have to agree, would have a tooth pulled rather than have itchy bits too - LOL

Puppie, I'm thinking about having a 3D/4D scan, will see what DH thinks...
