I've been sore and achey the last few days too (I'm 16+1). Thought maybe I'd been overdoing it as it was ds's birthday so I've been running round doing loads but maybe it's just the stage I'm at. Still not felt anything I'm convinced about and felt ds at 17 weeks I think. Did get to hear heartbeat at midwife appointment on Friday though so that was nice and reassuring.

Supersmith · 30/04/2017 22:12

I've been sore and achy all week, had a few days off work as well, was already planned time off and I feel like my batteries have been recharged.

However

My boobs are so sore I can't even bare for them to be there. I want to tear them off they hurt so much!

Blazingstar · 02/05/2017 20:27

I'm due with my first 7th (mine and partners 1st) on 27th Oct after successful sterilisation reversal in Jan

leannejade · 03/05/2017 08:21

I'm exhausted this week. Mostly mentally.
Having a tough time at work with my manager and team, I've done the work of two people whilst covering annual leave and sickness for half the month and couldn't even take a day off sick myself when I needed to so I didn't leave anyone in the lurch. (I've had no days off sick this year so far).

I'm at the point where I'm gonna have a breakdown, I cried on my way into work as I'm so tired and I can't even take a day off cause my other team member is off.

Please tell me the exhaustion goes. I'm 15+1

mrsbumblebees · 03/05/2017 08:35

Sorry to hear you are having such a tough time Leanne Sad that sounds like an awful situation for you. Is there anyone at work you can talk to? If not your manager, the manager above them perhaps? It really sounds like they need to help re-distribute the workload which has fallen on you, and also arrange for you to have a bit of a break and some time off!!

I hope you manage to get something sorted, I sympathise with the exhaustion (I'm 15+6) and fortunately I have a week off this week which is lovely but I'm still so tried, don't know how I will cope with work next week and dreading having to commute on the train again after fainting last week.

leannejade · 03/05/2017 13:38

mrsbumblebees I have a meeting with HR to discuss maternity stuff this Friday so I'm gonna mention it to them. My manager has a "it was your choice to have children" attitude if anyone wishes for some lenience is different situations so she has no sympathy to pregnancy in general.

It does bug me how people say "well that's pregnancy for you, what do you expect?" Like, yes I know it's all part and parcel, but it doesn't mean it's a lesser feeling or emotion?

JanuaryJuniper · 03/05/2017 13:39

I hear you...I'm 15 weeks today and just so tired ALL THE TIME and finding work super draining. This is my 3rd dc and I don't remember being this bone achingly tired the last two times!

Things have certainly gone quiet around here these days I presume everyone is after heading off to the Facebook group Sad

Cineraria · 03/05/2017 13:50

I really agree about the tiredness. Last time it really surprised me that although the new baby woke me in the night for feeds and changes, I felt so much less tired than I did throughout my pregnancy.

It disappeared straight after he was born, so I did feel tired from the labour and two nights of no sleep but much less exhausted than I did the last day I was pregnant. Food tasted better straight away too, even the defrosted hospital omelette seemed amazing!

mummabubs · 03/05/2017 14:52

I'm 17.5 weeks and have finally stopped napping during the day! (Although still have moments of feeling really tired it's not as crippling as it felt a few weeks ago). Hope that gives some hope! 😊

ButterflyGem · 03/05/2017 18:31

Hi all
I'm 17 & 3 days & seem to have had slightly more energy the last week or so. I seem to be getting up for the toilet more through the night though. I've been so hot today & drinking loads don't know what I'll do when it gets hotter & I have a big bump lol. 🙈☀️ My manager has no sympathy towards pregnancy symptoms either she doesn't have a maternal bone in her body & prefers dogs to children, when I told her I was pregnant she just said oh I didn't expect that cos you never talk about having kids! I'm going to watch to see if I'm treat any different, our place can be a bit funny with women having children, it shouldn't be like that in this day & age. To be honest my concentration keeps going & my head feels in the clouds a bit lol I think my bump may be growing too I'm desperate to feel something but I wouldn't know what to look out for xx

SophieGiroux · 03/05/2017 19:19

Shame it's gone so quiet on here but prefer the anonymity than fb. Sure there's still a few of us that can keep it going, easier to keep up with if it's slower anyway! Smile

mummabubs · 03/05/2017 19:39

I know @ButterflyGem, my midwife said last Thursday she reckoned I was days away from feeling the first movements of bubba (I'm a day ahead of you at 17+4!) Can't imagine what it must feel like so am just waiting until something happens that seems definitely like a small bubbabean doing something!

And @SophieGiroux that's why I prefer MN too. Plus I spend enough time gawping mindlessly at Facebook as it is, I don't need a further excuse!

SeatOfMyPants · 03/05/2017 19:40

Sorry for the selfish post -will do a proper update and hello later - but I'm slightly worried.

Been feeling off all day. Was very sick this morning and my mood is very low out of the blue. Now I'm getting uncomfortable pains in abdomen. Have been feeling the baby move generally for a couple weeks (swishing/swirling sensation that generally makes me feel a bit sick - recognisable from last time) but this is bordering on painful. Hoping it's gas, but it feels movement related and almost like contractions....I'm 15w 3d. I'm worried.

SophieGiroux · 03/05/2017 20:28

@SeatOfMyPants maybe give your midwife unit a call in the morning if you're worried? They might be able to do a reassurance scan. If there's no bleeding then I guess that's a good sign?

ButterflyGem · 03/05/2017 20:29

I prefer on here to we'll keep it going. Oh @SeatOfMyPants hopefully it will be nothing, just found this on google although I know it's bad to keep googling everything 🙈 www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.babble.com/pregnancy-week-by-week/15-weeks-pregnant/amp/

I've had sharp growing type pains the last few weeks but nothing like when I had a miscarriage last year (it's always on my mind) just starting to relax a bit now. As long as no bleeding I'd say everything will be fine & probs the sickness is a good sign. Take care & let's try not to worry too much everyone is different after all xxx

October 2017 #4!
SeatOfMyPants · 03/05/2017 20:52

Thanks Butterfly and Sophie - I appreciate it. Yes, if it continues or gets worse I might toddle off to EPU tomorrow (I had a mmc last year so don't automatically trust the absence of blood as reassuring!). But I think on the balance of probabilities it's just pregnancy oddness at 15w isn't it: measuring everything by the last pregnancy doesn't always bring comfort, does it - new strategy needed!

ButterflyGem · 03/05/2017 21:49

Yeh @SeatOfMyPants I know what you mean every twinge can be worrying. It could even be some sort of bug though best to get checked & put your mind at rest I'd say. xx

GimbleInTheWabe · 03/05/2017 22:18

I've been tired too, mostly getting naps in during the day (best thing about self-employment!) but it has subsided a bit. I'm 18+2 and think I've been feeling baby movements but it's hard to tell without any prior experience! Def getting more muscle twinges/cramps too. Also a weird symptom is the muscle twinge I've had in my right butt cheek the last few days- you'd have thought I'd been at a spin class or something the amount it hurts!
Got my 16 week midwife appt tomorrow (only 2 weeks behind schedule!) so hoping all is well. Going to ask if I can record the heartbeat so my DP and parents can hear it as I'll be on my own.

JanuaryJuniper · 03/05/2017 23:13

seatofmypants I ended up in hospital last week (14 weeks) with stomach and back pains which had been going on for three days and quite painful. I was very worried I'd lost it. But when I went in they done a scan and all was fine.

They didn't really know what caused the pain but put it down to probably stretching of scar tissue and adhesions for my two previous c sections.

JanuaryJuniper · 03/05/2017 23:15

Have you all started to show yet? I'm absolutely huge, but with it being my 3rd, I'm short and had a bit of a belly anyway it's not surprising. My dh said to me this evening that I was getting my old duck waddle back already!!!! Wtf I'm only 15 weeks Blush

leannejade · 04/05/2017 05:09

JanuaryJupiter people are starting to notice. I'm 15+2, but quite petite so there's definitely a little bump. Quite exciting Smile

leannejade · 04/05/2017 05:10

JanuaryJuniper please ignore that I spelt your name totally wrong, it's 5am!!

boxesoffrogs · 04/05/2017 06:58

Morning.

Quick question (inspired by gimble's post) - what do they actually do at the 16 week appointment? Do they always listen to the heartbeat? Or is it just more tedious form filling?

Sorry, I know I am completely clueless!

Hope you are all well.

Rayna37 · 04/05/2017 07:23

My 16 week appt was pretty routine and they didn't listen for the heartbeat, it wasn't even mentioned! Just a urine test, check everything going ok and a few reminders about stuff you probably already have sorted, from what I recall (2 weeks ago). Seems like most people do get to hear the heartbeat though.

KitKatSplat · 04/05/2017 07:27

jade Does your job allow you to work from home? My job was super stressful last week and I slept most of the bank holiday weekend. This week I am taking 2 days where I work from home. I feel quite guilty about it but I am still doing all the work and it's only 2 fricking days!! You have to remind yourself that keeping stress in check is really important and you are responsible for looking after something that can't look after itself. Even if it's just booking a phantom half hour meeting to go for a walk outside or sit in an empty meeting room with a cup of tea.
