You're welcome! I have 6 packs of pads so far but was using them for over 6 weeks last time. Hopefully you will be lucky and not need so many. Sounds like you are really suffering. I'm sure you've tried, but might pile cream relieve things? You've reminded me to get some in for post birth (along with the lavender oil and arnica). I'm 32 weeks now and between the SPD, random eczema flair, underboob rash and bad skin, I don't feel very glamorous right now either.

GrumpySusan · 05/07/2017 19:31

Ah thanks I might grab another pack or two if I pass, can always pick some more up if I need them post-birth but will be good not to ration them.
I have Sad I actually find sudocrem more soothing than the specific cream I've got and feel comforted that it's antiseptic with the most recent going on.
The suppositories were a new low but I've got some left for hospital bag at least. Also moist toilet tissue is a winner.
Oh you poor thing, it's so rubbish! I suffered really badly with my skin up to about 20w too. I think random hormone surges make it worse. Are you using any product? The only thing that cleared mine up was nothing at all on my skin bar a smidge of e45 on an eve. Flowers & Cake for us!

SpringtoSummer · 05/07/2017 22:31

Sorry to hear things are so difficult for other people Flowers
Today I thought I had a UTI as I had pains travelling up like when I had cystitis and the same feeling of pressure. Spoke to a dr on the phone (as the pharmacist said it was important to get treatment straightaway) but she just said it was just normal for this stage (in a tone that suggested I should know this already). So thought I would pass it on in case anyone else had it unexpectedly.

EssentialHummus · 05/07/2017 23:32

Having a panic here as my 28 week blood tests turned up something that requires a GP appointment, which isn't till Friday. I don't even know what they were testing but am now concerned. Gah.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 06/07/2017 06:53

Thanks for the heads up Spring. Hope you feel better soon.

Hopefully it's something as simple as low iron Essential, for which you'd need an iron tablet prescription from GP but not serious. Will keep fingers crossed that it's straightforward!

Lules · 06/07/2017 06:55

essential if was anything serious I'm sure they would have told you then so it is probably something like you're anaemic

Lules · 06/07/2017 07:51

Speaking of anaemia has anyone got this? I've been given iron tablets but it's still low, probably because I keep throwing them up and I think it must be contributing to my dizziness. I don't seem to get an answer apart from keep taking the tablets but it doesn't seem to be helping.

londonfeather · 06/07/2017 07:58

Those suffering with low iron I can't suggest spatone sachets enough, rather than tablets. So much easier for you to digest.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 06/07/2017 08:43

I've not taken them myself, but have heard good things about the spatone sachets too. Apparently they make you less constipated than the lovely tablets also.

oliversmummy26 · 06/07/2017 11:25

I had low iron too, seem to be able to keep the tablets own (though...TMI...I think they've turned my poo green!! I tend to take them just after breakfast...midwife did suggest liquid iron if I was struggling though, may be worth asking your GP if they can prescribe that for you?

I do feel loads better since starting them though and am certainly sleeping better Smile

Lules · 06/07/2017 12:08

I've been told that the liquid doesn't have as much iron in it so I should take the tablets.

MW rang me this morning to say I'm still anaemic and she's not surprised I feel dizzy. I've got a GP appointment on Sat to ask if there any better anti-emetics I can take. In good news though I've eaten my first proper meal in days and think it might stay down.

SayItIsntSo1 · 06/07/2017 16:41

I keep dropping off this thread!

Sorry you're still having such a rough time of it Lules.

I'm 28+3 and had a call from the HV to organise the pre-baby appointment which seems way too early. Starting to feel a bit underprepared but glad to be closing in on the final weeks.

sweetpea20 · 06/07/2017 17:35

@Lules @oliversmummy26 how low are your levels? I am also anemic

Lules · 06/07/2017 18:33

I was 100 and it's only gone up to 105 after weeks of being on tablets. What's your level?

sweetpea20 · 06/07/2017 18:40

mine are low same as yours since beginning of my pregnancy and i feel week & tired all the time. But I cant tolerate the iron pills as I already have severe constipation. So am taking spatone but my GP said that was not enough so I am just been prescribed Sytron, I collect it from pharmacy tomorrow, its supposed to be high potency iron and gentle on tummy as it is used primarily for new borns.

Lules · 07/07/2017 13:43

Sorry that you're not feeling great sweetpea. I hope the new stuff helps.

I'm going to ask work if I can go on maternity leave early. I'm not meant to go until mid Aug but I'm really struggling.

londonfeather · 09/07/2017 08:51

Has anyone else had to take their wedding rings off as heir hands are getting too swollen?

fluffywallow · 09/07/2017 09:09

Fell off the thread!

Lules you are superwoman to have managed until now, so many wouldn't. I would definitely stop now and focus on resting up before baby arrives Flowers

London yep I had to take mine off last week (at 30 weeks), the heat and weight gain make my fingers like sausages and I've heard one too many stories of rings getting stuck so took it off before it became too wedged on! I bought a cheapy alternative when pregnant with my DD so have that on now.

Just back from a weeks holiday which was nice but boy did I feel massively pregnant!!! Definately on the countdown now. Should get my date for my cs next week, eek!

SayItIsntSo1 · 09/07/2017 09:13

@londonfeather I took mine off a while ago. They were still ok but think I'd struggle to get them off now. When I was pregnant with dd I got to about 7/8 months and a helpful Dr mentioned I may want to remove them as hands can just turn one day and they cut off a lot in A&E Confused I take mine off for exercising, showering and sleeping anyway so it doesn't feel too odd for me. Think I'm going to take the opportunity to get them cleaned.

Lules · 09/07/2017 11:05

I've had to take off my wedding ring off but am wearing a slightly bigger ring instead.

ML approved! I have 2 weeks left to finish stuff off and that's it. Feels a bit weird.

StarWish1 · 09/07/2017 13:06

Lules sorry to hear you're struggling. Definitely start ML early.

I haven't taken my rings off yet but I did consider it during the really hot weather. Hoping to keep them on for a few more weeks.

calimommy · 09/07/2017 16:17

I didn't take my rings off in time and now there's little chance. It's quite hot here too, 40 yesterday, so I'm pretty swollen in general.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 09/07/2017 17:17

I no longer have ankles. Just fat fat feet on the end of my legs. Took the wedding rings off a while ago, but only because I struggled to remove them so much with DS. Hope everyone is coping ok with the heat!

Travelgeek · 09/07/2017 21:05

Evening all. Just catching up on the thread. Hope everyone is ok, sorry to those suffering. I'm doing ok apart from aching ankles and feet when I'm on them too long. Can't really complain but I do find being able to do less than normal very frustrating. I normally leave my wedding ring on but have been taking it off at night in this warm weather. It's still going on and off ok, it would feel really odd not to wear it. Back at work tomorrow after a week off and suspect I will be exhausted by Friday with catching up. Still, 6 weeks till my mat leave starts!

DontBeBlueBeARainbow · 10/07/2017 14:02

After reading this last night I discovered my ring had become quite a lot more snug and decided it's time... could be the Beijing heat, but either way better safe than sorry! Missed it today, I usually fiddle with it at work.
