luna I work long shifts in the police and the honest answer is that I don't cope! I'm currently sat on the toilet floor as my nausea is horrrebdous today and I just don't feel right. Really lightheaded and woody. I do have naturally low blood pressure but wondering whether it's dropped due to a bit of dehydration.

I've been having a good day in that I've not vomited or cried once. Dreading tomorrow though when OH isn't here to help (slash do all the childcare and housework) and I'm meant to be doing a 4-1 shift again.
luna have you been to the GPs to see if you can get any meds? If you really can't cope then stay home sick, they can't fire you for being unwell? We will all be feeling better in a couple of weeks.......... Fx

Hi Ladies, I'm afraid I'm bowing out as well. Bleeding started on Thursday evening, scan on Friday morning where I was told I haven't miscarried yet, but essentially it's a matter of time. Not in that much pain which is good, but the waiting around is pretty brutal.

Wishing you all the very best for wonderful pregnancies. I hope the sickness clears soon and ye all have lovely bouncing babies come October. Take care. x

10storey, I'm in the same position as you work wise. Dreading my shifts this week 🙁 have felt so sick this weekend. The only thing that stops me feeling sick is exercise, yet that's made me extremely tired!

skisunsnow I'm very impressed you've managed to exercise. I had the best of intentions when found out I was pregnant but there's no chance!

Hi everyone, have been pretty absent on this thread and now not sure I can catch up!!! So congratulations to everyone who has joined, hope those annoying symptoms are starting to die down!
Having a bit of a tough time at the minute. Husband is in the RAF and deployed last week, finding it hard without him. Emotions are everywhere, I go between feeling angry at him for leaving me, missing our first scan, my birthday, midwife appointments and then desperately missing him. I find myself hearing a song and bursting into tears and not sure if it's because I miss him or want to punch him 😂
In other news I have switched my sickness medication to tablets you don't have to swallow which seem to be making a difference in the morning. I've gone from constantly throwing up everything I ate all day long to sticking a tablet to dissolve between my gum and only being sick a maximum 3 times in the morning before they kick in. I guess I'm not throwing them back up if they are going straight into my bloodstream!
How is everyone else? I have my scan in 2 weeks...will be 13 + 4...is anyone else's that late?! I just want to see everything is ok and finally tell people!!!!

Insomnia hit me last night and i'm not dealing with it too well!

10Storey i work 10 hour shifts doing security on a reception desk in a busy blue chip company and i spend 7 of those hours on my own where i cannot leave the desk... so you have my sympathy

I'm 8 weeks today and have just noticed light spotting again tonight. I haven't had it since last Tuesday night and I've only been using progesterone via back door so I'm a bit worried that I'm spotting again and hoping it goes away like it did last week though. Roll on Thursday for my next scan. Hope all is ok in there.

Mulberry I'm sorry your husband is away, that must be incredibly difficult. He probably wishes he could be home with you for the journey too! Have you got people around you who know and can help out?

10, I called in sick last week and then ended up being off for over a week because I can't even get out of bed without wanting to throw up!
Today I was sat in the staff toilet for 45 mins being sick whilst my manager shouted at me for not being quick enough.
Think I'm either going to get a sick not from my GP or some medication to help me!!

Morning all,

Feel a bit down and anxious today but don't know why. When did you all tell / plan to tell your parents and OH's parents about the news? My husband's parents are visiting us next Friday week, and my husband really wants to tell them the news, but we won't have had our 12 week scan by then (I'm 9+1 today.) I rang the midwife to see if it made sense to get a scan next week before they arrived, as I'm not comfortable sharing that info without ANY scan. But I think my midwife will try to put us off the idea.

I hate the 1st trimester :( Feeling sick, raging hormones, and just WAITING. Ugh!
