Finally spoke to the EPU this morning. Got another scan on Wednesday, which will be a week after my last one. Hopefully it will show things are moving nicely, and if not, well, then it is what is is, and we can move on from there.

Still feeling pukey but boobs not so sensitive (although my nipples are perma-erect)

We have told both sets of parents, then what will be will be, I would want their support if anything were to happen anyway
I am getting bored of the waiting through and keeping it a secret from everyone else. Coupled with the fact I was sick on the side on the road on the way to the station this morning, happy Monday!

Thanks Cath, it helps I'm not the only one with the blues. I don't want my husband to think I regret the whole thing or anything like that. Did you have any kind of scan before you told the folks?

No scan, I am holding out for the 12 weeks
I think its hard in the first 12 weeks, as you feel crap, feel really hormonal and its hard to get attached to something you haven't even seen yet! I am hoping after the scan at least there will be something to focus on :-)

I'm in the same boat as you guys. Dh is away at present and has told his entire family. (Because I was meant to go with him and couldn't Face travelling with the morning sickness). I've told parents and my sister. My boss at work and my riding instructor. Strictly those who need to know. I'm dying to tell others though

Scan a week tomorrow. Am excited and nervous. It almost still doesn't seem real. So really really want to see "it" for validation!

I am with you, for me it really doesnt feel real - even if I am feeling rubbish, I just cant quite get my head around it. Even the booking in appointment felt so surreal!

We have also told both sets of parents, no scan yet (it's next week!). Also my boss, my sister, my best friend and my 4 year old (who tells everyone he meets - so not very secret really ).

I did wait to tell anyone with my first pregnancy until 12 weeks but my mum was quite disappointed I didn't tell her sooner and I kind of regretted all the suffering in silence.

KItKatSplat Told my parents this weekend which was great, they don't live near and wanted to fit in telling them in person between their near constant holidays! I think fine to tell close family at this point especially if you have limited opportunities to see them in person, of course things can still go wrong but decent odds by about 10 weeks I think. Nice to check through the medical history with my Mum; she also had no sickness with me or my sister and helpfully said she was "massive" by 9 months both times!
Got my first scan a week tomorrow too ememem and waiting to tell most people after that, I'll be 12+2 based on LMP. A couple of friends know, my DSD and telling my boss tomorrow as we can go weeks without being in the same place and so having to take the moment where it comes.
Finally had to purchase hideous non-underwired bra and now have enormous wide matronly bosom, starting to think it may be obvious to people sooner than I imagined!

Told my mum this weekend too she was over the moon! Oh's parents and both our sisters next weekend!

With DD We told PIL the day after we found out as the next time we would have seen them was going to be in two months, I don't have a close relationship with DM (if fact we are now no contact) she guessed correctly by stalking my Pinterest likes before we had a chance to tell her in person and outted our news by posting "grandparent" things on social media. In fact she changed her profile picture to a photo of her holding DD before we had even announced the birth.

This time round I've told one friend as I was really struggling and needed to confide in someone, and DP had told work as he needed time off for an early scan. We have our 12 week scan 4 weeks tomorrow if everything goes well so will tell family afterwards and then friends probably after 20 weeks just to cut down on the pestering questions. Or that's the plan unless I start to show earlier. Last time in didn't have an obvious baby bump until 26 weeks.

We told our parents the day after we found out and siblings etc in week 5/6. We told a few friends early on who knew we were trying and it has been lovely to have support and not to lie to anyone. Once we had a successful scan at 8 weeks we've been telling friends, Aunties etc as and when we see them and now I have a doppler and listen to the heartbeat normal days so we are far more comfortable telling people. 10+2 today.

My theory has always been that if anything did happen, I'd want the support of those closest to me so why keep it a secret, but I completely understand it is a very individual choice.

We told everyone pretty much straight away. Going against the norm but I lost a son just after he was born at 39 weeks so my reasoning is that, for me, the scary period is not just the first 12 weeks but the whole of pregnancy.

Also, I was/am banking on support if anything goes wrong.

A bag of nerves haha! But each day I tell myself that I'm pregnant today and that's ok.
I've booked an early scan for 4.30 today so looking forward to seeing our blob!

Just wanted to let everyone know my scan went ok... measured somewhere between 4 days to a week behind i should have been 7+4 going off LMP but there was a good strong heartbeat and the doctor was pleased which reassured me.

Now just a long old wait until 12 week scan although i am not even sure when that is yet!

Spotting stopped again overnight. Thursday's scan can't happen fast enough. Have also spoken to a clinic today and provisionally booked for the Panorama test 23/3 when I will be 9+4. Means by 11 weeks I will know for sure if any chromosome issues and will know the sex too. No charge for cancelling and they will do a scan on the day too and if bad news then only pay £70 for the scan and nothing needs to be paid for the tests. It means I will know before I start the new job if this pregnancy is ok or not and gives me a week to deal with it if it isn't.

Re telling people, other than DH and medical staff, I've only told one friend, and that's because I didn't want to lie to her and was meant to go to a lambing day with her and I wasn't going to risk going and it causing a MC so I told her the truth. None of my family know about any of my 12 MC's, my coping mechanism is that if people don't know, they won't ask me how i am, and I won't fall apart into a heap of tears. It's my way of life going on as normal for my sons throughout this shit.

Thank you everybody for your responses. It seems it's a very individual decision for example everybody re: when to tell people. My husband's parents are great but my mother is a highly emotional person, and if I ended up having an MC, I can't see her being a pillar of subtlety and understanding. I'm one of those people who don't like a fuss. Ppleasebob, I admired your perspective and fortitude. Loopy, I think we have similar coping mechanisms. I'm not that great articulating my feelings.

Feeling sick, hating work, feeling sorry for self. Blergh. Hope everyone else is doing better. Congrats on scan confused.

Thanks Under i compleley get how you feel! I have spent most of the weekend awake, tired, nausious and feeling sorry for myself!

I also have Acne.... I have never had Acne and now I am covered so much it looks like I have chicken pox... and it is very very sore!!!

Acne fest over here too confused nausea still here at 9w+1 but more manageable than it has been. So tired tho!

So much acne here too! I have the worst skin I've ever had. I'm wearing more make up than usual to try to hide it, but I think it's making it worse.

I hit the 12 week milestone tomorrow so I'm starting to feel a bit better about things. Not had a scan yet so I don't know for sure that things are ok, but it's good to have got this far without any outward signs of a problem.

I'm pretty sure that my EDD is going to move back into October, but I'll confirm when I have my NHS nuchal scan at the end of March...

Feeling so sick here! I threw up on a long-distance bus journey yesterday, luckily made it to the loo first.

But on the plus side I did get an interview for what is pretty much my dream job! (I am trying to make a career move related to a qualification that I'm doing at the same time)

I feel fine, nauseous in the evening but ok. Stomach is huge though, #3 seems to just pop straight out. We haven't told anyone yet though as we are waiting for a scan to check all is ok, so we can tell the kids! Don't want others to know until kids do. I'm debating booking a private one and going in alone, and if ok calling kids in? Then once they know we can tell others.

Another month seems a long time to keep this covered up... Literally!!

So many posts resonating with me today, I am completely miserable and I don't even feel pregnant anymore today. Have had an awful weekend - I think it's because no one knows except for myself and DP so it's very isolating.
Early scan on Wednesday so counting down the hours until then - we have decided that if it's good news at the scan we will tell both sets of parents on Wednesday, I need the support so badly.
On the plus side, the comedown from the medication is finally gone so I do feel better in that regard.
Chins up everyone we can do it!

knowing that people are feeling the same really helps. I felt like a bit of a idiot yesterday feeling so miserable and not really knowing why. Probably didn't help that DH had to work for most of the day!

It does really help! You guys are a lifeline at the mo!
