Just had my scan date through and I will be 13+4.. It's also on a date I'm meant to be on a conference up north. Do you think they will be flexible in changing it? It says on the letter they can only consider changing in special circumstances panicking a little which I know is silly when people have far more worrying things on their mind!

Being pregnant means I can get away with birkies earlier than normal? I love them I think they're ugly but I have arthritis in my feet and they're comfy! I got these today in the post

Evening all. I know I am late to the party with the booking in appointment, I am 10+2 and have it tomorrow!

Never obviously had one before and feeling a bit nervous (no idea why). Can someone just talk me through what happens, so I can rest assured it's all going to be boring form filling...

frogs I can assure you it really is nothing to worry about and it is indeed just going through boring forms about medical history etc etc. I was super nervous too for some reason. They also took four test tubes of blood and a urine sample. Oh and my height, weight and blood pressure. That's all it was

@boxesoffrogs my booking was lots of forms for medical history etc plus blood and urine sample. Where I want to give birth (I'm high dependency so no choice for me) and also the problems i may have regarding my medical history. Took about 45 minutes.

Rachie I guess there's no harm in asking if they can change it?

Thank you Gimble, charmanar, DancingUnicorn, KitKat and anyone else I might have missed. I will be glad when it is over and I can move on but in the meantime a sweet toddler is a very good distraction.

I had my Panorama test today. Am 9+4 and had a scan beforehand and measuring bang on dates and all looked good, saw and heard the heartbeat, and it was waving at the screen and wiggling around. I have rubbish veins, so took 3 attempts to get the blood for the tests. Now it's just a waiting game until the results come back. Going to be a long week!

Oh and was really impressed, got given 2 photos, plus a USB stick with more photos on and a video of the scan including the sound of the heartbeat.

rachie I need to change my next scan too as dh will be away and is desperate to come with me.

Good luck for your booking in appointment today boxes I have mine today too. Hope the midwife is nice.

My mums just offered to pay for the harmony test for me, so going to book that soon.

Anyone else finding like literally none of their clothes are comfy? I'm 10+7.

em I just called and although she was a tiny bit grumpy at first they have found me a slot the week before. I was so relieved I literally nearly cried! Must be the hormones hope yours can get moved too x

Thanks doomkitty, sitting here in the waiting room, big sign on a box of wee pots saying please do a sample before seeing the midwife. I can't!!! I went for a wee before I left home ten minutes ago and now I can't go!!!!! Argh. Hope they don't shout at me. Hope yours goes well too...

Mine went well. I just drank some water to make me go as I had been not long before going too. The midwife I saw was lovely, making jokes and had tattoos and piercings so felt like someone I could relate to 🙂.

She gave me the phone number to book my scan myself and told me I'm low risk so all will be midwife led.

Feeling much more relaxed now.

Ahh that's great doomkitty. Managed to squeeze out a wee in the end. I had a student midwife who did all the paperwork and stuff, she was quite nervous which didn't help and it was all a bit awkward. Actual midwife was overseeing though and she seemed nice.

Don't know how I feel now... confused by the information overload!!! Just need to hang on in there for the scan before the excitement and all that kicks in.

Just had a bunch of blood tests by a new midwife... the needle she used was too big and my vein blew- loud hissing noise and blood all over the wall/me/her! I cried a bit (was just a bit shocked) and she said "if this bothers you how are you going to cope with birth?" I think she might have been made of steel. I'm just made of crisps (but we knew that).

Also had booking today. Lovely midwife made me feel very relaxed. Got bloods no problem. Said I should get scan appointment in next two weeks(!) I'm already 10+4 so hope it can be done in time for the screening tests.

I'm thinking about harmony/panaroma. loopy do you mind me asking why you decided to have it? I'm 32 first pregnancy.

Had my scan at Kings this morning and our little baby was doing backflips and everything. He's (we've decided it's a boy!) totally healthy and measuring a little above what I'd though do my EDD is now 2nd Oct.

My scan is now booked for the 6th April 😀😀😀 can't wait. So nervous and excited.

Got a letter through today for my scan too! 11th April!!! Can't wait until it's not a secret anymore

Doomkitty, good to hear that you now have a scan date to countdown to. I'll be 12+2 for my first scan on the 3rd April and have been counting down for the last two weeks...just over a week to go!
