Hello, sorry I have been a bit quiet on the thread. On Monday I went for a viability scan at ten weeks and found out that my little dot had stopped growing five weeks ago, so I will be leaving you.

We will start trying again in a few months and I am keeping my fingers crossed for better luck next time. Feeling very grateful for my funny, cheerful almost two year old.

Tigger83 · 23/03/2017 10:09

I've had to work from home today feeling shocking. Just want to go to bed. I'm feeling sick all the time. Trying not to take anything though as I hate the thought of putting chemicals in my body unless I have to.

I am feeling fat and miserable and pants. Sorry for the pity party for one, I know I shouldn't moan and should be grateful that it's a sign of a healthy baby but 6 weeks of feeling like this is starting to really drain me.

GimbleInTheWabe · 23/03/2017 10:09

I'm so sorry Daisy but glad to know that your lovely 2YO is helping you through Flowers

donkey86 · 23/03/2017 11:07

Thanks phryn - that's just what I wanted to hear. I thought it might be like that, it does seem a family friendly place. We're looking at house around Hanover - so I'd better get used to hill walking!

The mention of NCT has reminded me - a question for people who've done this before - how early do you need to sign up? I don't think you do the course until you're about 7 months, do you - but I assume they get booked up a way in advance?

mummabubs · 23/03/2017 11:26

Had my 12 week scan today, which put me at 11+5, new EDD 7th October 😊

Baby is fine, but they found I've got a bicornate uterus (lucky me), which means I'm now being considered high risk and will be consultant-led. It might mean that I have to have an early delivery by C section, but equally the consultant may consider letting me be midwife led later on, depends how everything goes. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that I can be downgraded later and have my water birth! The only thing I was a bit miffed about is that the sonographer told me that I had the bicornate shaped uterus but didn't tell that it affected my risk or that I would now be consultant led- the lady on reception did! Still, just grateful bubbabean is ok xx

SophieGiroux · 23/03/2017 12:22

Has anyone got the Bounty app? I had the Ovia one but it was so Americanised that I've deleted it. I'm just worried that I'll get tons of spam by signing up to Bounty as they don't have the best reputation! My midwife was very clear in saying the supermarket prenatal vitamins are just as good when she gave me my Bounty pack with free Pregnacare vits!

SophieGiroux · 23/03/2017 12:25

Got my scan letter sent through only 2 days after my booking in appointment, I was very impressed as was told it takes about 10 days. I'll be 11+2. I had to rearrange it too and was no problem. They seem to do them at weekends here. Just wondering whether to take DD and break the news then!

charmanar · 23/03/2017 13:08

So sorry daisyfrench glad you have a wonderful 2 y/o to cheer to up x

DancingUnicorn · 23/03/2017 13:32

So sorry daisy. 💐

Babycarmen · 23/03/2017 13:47

I would like to be added to the Facebook group too please Smile who do I message?

BAR91 · 23/03/2017 15:01

Community midwife referred me to the obstetrician because of MH issues. I see the ob today and just get a lecture about how anti ds can make babies jittery and have withdrawals. Really helpful. Offered counselling (to somebody who is anxious about talking to strangers and about hospitals!) and that was it. So I feel even worse now. I can't come off them but she was of the camp that "some people are just a little bit sad" so frustrated.

UndersecretaryofWhimsy · 23/03/2017 15:06

Just wondering whether to take DD and break the news then!

Sophie I think most hospitals aren't a fan of that tbh, partly because it's difficult trying to do delicate procedures with kids around, partly because it then becomes very emotionally complex if the scan picks up any abnormalities or God forbid a missed miscarriage. A lot of them specifically ban children from coming into the scan room, although policies differ and obviously it's different if bringing them is your only option. I hope your scan goes really well though.

KitKatSplat · 23/03/2017 15:38

So sorry daisy

Went for a private scan today at 10+3. Was quietly stunned to see the little person wriggling around in there. I honestly thought that they'd find nothing in the scan, turn around and say "We're sorry, there must have been a horrible misunderstanding."

Even the sickness, the boobs, the tiredness, and the visible bump, didn't convince me. Just surreal to see something moving in there, in me. Kind of a trip. Happy that all looked A-OK though. Hasn't quite sunk in yet!

DancingUnicorn · 23/03/2017 16:05

Carmen I can add you!

BAR91 I'm sorry you felt they weren't supportive. Can you try talking to the community midwife again? Maybe there is a different consultant you could be referred to?

BAR91 · 23/03/2017 16:37

@DancingUnicorn I will when I see her. I'm ok or I was until today's farcical appointment, good job really!

Can I be added to the Facebook group please?

mummabubs · 23/03/2017 17:01

@Lizzynic I've just seen that we are in the same bicornuate boat! Hope all is going well for you xx

Lizzynic · 23/03/2017 17:17

Hi mamabubs, all seems well ATM, got my 12week scan on Tuesday, baby is in the right horn, I always thought being pregnant would be exciting till I was diagnosed with the BU, now it's all fear,

How are you coping with the BU? Xxx

mummabubs · 23/03/2017 17:55

Same @Lizzynic. Literally only found out I'm BU this morning so just trying to get round the idea that my birthing plan will look completely different if I make it to full term. It's been a shock but on the plus baby was absolutely fine (and also on the right!) x

mummabubs · 23/03/2017 17:56

Oh, and I very quickly learnt not to google it- that just paints a horrendous picture and I'm sure it can't be as dichotomously bad as that makes out? !

Lizzynic · 23/03/2017 18:03

Yes, I found out googling was a bad idea, I found out the same time as my mc last year and don't think much of the information stayed in my skull, this pregnancy I had to go for an 8week scan and saw a heart beat which made me relax for all of an hour. Now I'm getting all worked up again in case there isn't a HB this time round xxx

hungryhungryhippos · 23/03/2017 18:08

Hi guys, room for another one? I've been lurking for ages but finally feel brave enough to post. I'm nearly 10 weeks and have a GP appointment tomorrow to refer me to the midwives. Hoping they don't take too long to sort out the scan! I'd love to be added to the Facebook group too if someone can add meSmile

mummabubs · 23/03/2017 18:13

I had an early scan too at 7+2 due to bleeding, which they now think was probably due to BU. They saw and heartbeat then and baby is completely fine today- was literally doing summersaults so they found getting the measurements hard to begin with! Fingers crossed you have the same outcome xx

DancingUnicorn · 23/03/2017 18:17

Hi, I can add people to the fb group if you dm me your email address you use for Facebook! :)

BrioLover · 23/03/2017 18:31

Hi hungry!

Had booking in appt today - midwife recognised me from November and gave me a lovely welcome. Scan booked for 4th April - I'll be 13+3 by then!

Lizzynic · 23/03/2017 18:41

@mummabubs when I had my scan they put me 3 days ahead of what my doctor said, when I argued and said there's no way I could have conceived while AF was here because we didn't do the deed (so for TMI) they said that maybe I'm having a big baby! I really hope not, the only positive is I got discharged from the EPU after my scan because of the them seeing a heart beat and also because I showed no signs of bleeding, every time I go to the loo I'm in constant worry I will see blood,
