So sorry Pamina I hope you are ok?

munchkinsusie · 29/07/2004 16:19

hi girls,
just had my first midwife appointment. very exciting! it was actually a student midwife that did all the booking in and the midwife just sat at the side, but they were both very nice. i've got all my notes now and just have to wait till i get my scan date - i hope it's before i go on holiday rather than after (which is 12th week). then the next midwife appointment (week16-18) i get to hear the heartbeat, which will be fab.
hope everyone else is doing ok.

SKM · 29/07/2004 16:32

You lucky thing, I'm still waiting for my appointment to come through, what do they do, is it scary!!!!

hana · 29/07/2004 19:06

just want to congratulate everyone expecting in March! Lots of luck to everyone and good luck when your scans come through

popsycal · 29/07/2004 19:36

My scan date came through yesterday for tuesday 17th august!

SKM · 30/07/2004 10:51

Has anyone tested again since finding out pregnant, just to make sure, or is it just me being paranoid

popsycal · 30/07/2004 11:16

Hi folks - had weird watery kind of blood last night. Not blood as such but a light red 'stain' when i wiped after the loo.

Spoken to midwife and pregnancy assessment unit who both don not seem too worried. They said if it happens again, to ring them back or if it changes to proper blood or if I have any pain, then to go in.

I feel ok - maybe i ought to be more worried than I am

misdee · 30/07/2004 11:31

sorry not been about much. been feeling pretty awful thisn pregnancy. absolutly shattered. have gone off meat, so the meal tomorrow should be fun.

popsy hope all is o.k!

I just wanted to ask (couldn't actually Find the Feb thread???!!!!!!!, when is it POSSIBLE to feel them??

I felt like a little bubble burst this morn and could've SWORN it was like a little kick!!!

Impossible at 10 weeks right??

popsycal · 30/07/2004 14:10

angeliz - first time round, i think it is about 18 weeks when you can feel movement.
Would imagine it is ealrier for your second as 1. you know what you are 'looking' for and 2.your muscles etc are all stretched (maybe!!!)

Angeliz · 30/07/2004 14:11

yep, just looked it up and said it is possible (especially in second -third pregnancy) to feel fetal movement as early as 8 weeks!!!!!!!!!More so if you're slim apparently (which i am but not for llong!)

popsycal · 30/07/2004 14:12

wow! that is well early
i know that scans can pick up fetal movements at 8 or 9 weeks

babster · 30/07/2004 14:14

Wow Angeliz, that's amazing! Can't wait for my first flutter (although I can for the great kicks in the ribs and bladder both dds gave me before)

Angeliz · 30/07/2004 14:17

I'll be sitting all night waiting for another now!!!! Wonder if it really was!!??

misdee · 30/07/2004 15:04

i've been having flutters for a week or so now. just thought i had a dodgey gut lol. maybe its the baby.

I have had some watery pinkish dishcharge and pain since Friday so I went to the doctors as it did get quite bad and he has told me to rest not easy with two children under five and a basketful of ironing for next weeks hols!!.He asked me to go back Tuesday when he can book me in for a scan when I will be a bit further on.I have done another test and that is still positive so its just a matter of sitting and stressing!!

fruitful · 02/08/2004 10:28

Oh bumpsy! Its scary isn't it. Lots of people do bleed and go on to have healthy babies though. They should be able to see the heartbeat on the scan in the next few days though.

Is there anyone who can look after your kids for a bit? I guess its hard if you haven't told people you're pg. This is definitely the time to call in favours though! And surely your dh can manage a bit of ironing tonight...

Pidge · 02/08/2004 14:05

Just back from my 10 day holiday - had a lovely time, though being dependent on hotel and cafe food was pretty grim. In the end I took to just nibbling a few bits off dp's plate, rather than ordering a portion for me and failing to eat it! And started each day nibbling Jacob's cream crackers in bed with dd - she thinks it's great - every morning she wakes up and says "Want a cracker"!

Less than 3 weeks till the scan now, so really counting the days, and hopefully that should coincide with starting to feel better too. I go on another holiday the day after the scan, so I am in for a lazy summer. Better try to get some work done before then.

Bumpsy - hope everything is still ok with you.

milkybarkid · 02/08/2004 17:17

hi again, Had a second scan sooner than planned cos bleeding got worse and they said I had miscarried but it was twins and other baby okay.

misdee · 02/08/2004 17:20

so you are still pregnant? that must be so hard for you, mixtuire of emotions.

hope you keep us up to date.

Pidge · 02/08/2004 17:27

Oh my goodness milkybarkid - what a rollercoaster. Hope you are getting lots of support through this.

Girly · 02/08/2004 18:07

Fingers crossed for you miklybarkid, I too had to have an eary scan due to some spotting and cramps, but all is well luckily, try and take it easy, will you have another scan soon?

I have a nuchal scan booked for the 18th Aug, had to pay for it £145 ouch! but worth it i think!

Still feeling lousy on and off, not helped by a bad cough. Can't wait for the sickness/tiredness to go. The heat is also making me quite dizzy so have had to lie down lots and take naps when I can (which is not often enough!)

munchkinsusie · 03/08/2004 09:09

milkybarkid - how awful for you to cope with.

girly - i'm having to rest alot as well. i've found the only way i can go out in the evening is if i have a nap after work for over an hour, then i'm fine. i actually went home from work early on friday so i could have a long nap before going out!

one of my friends guessed last night that i am pg. she said i was just looking so flushed and tired she thought i must be. so told her as a reward for being so observant and caring about me! we have decided that next week we are telling everyone - i'll be 10 weeks and i reccon that's far enough for the risk to be pretty low after that point.

bobblehat · 03/08/2004 15:03

Hi all, went to see midwife yesterday - what a differance to last time. She actually seemed really interested in my views. I told her that i'd had a horrible time at the local hospital last time, so she suggested a home birth! All the symptoms are coming now - constantly feeling sick, constantly knackered - yuk. Never mind, it'll get worse before it gets better

popsycal · 03/08/2004 20:21

OMG milkybar kid!
but also

A friend of hours had miscarriage after miscarriage and at around 42, she got pregnant and said it would her last time. At 9 weeks she miscarried - but when she went for the scan afterwards, they found a second baby - who is now a gorgeous helathy two year old!

My very vague spotting hasn't happened again at all. Scan 2 weeks today - fingers crossed
