@glitterglitters I've just stocked up in
Victoria's Secret too! I think I could have got maternity knickers for half he price but I prefer to buy something I'll wear after and I love their low rise knickers - so comfy!

glitterglitters · 08/04/2017 15:58

They're awesome and the sizing is fab compared to UK high street. I went around grabbing loads from the 5 for £28 offer, ended up with ten pairs and picked up a body mist as well. Ended up being £51 in total which I was super chuffed with as I was expecting it to be about £20 more. Woohoo!

glitterglitters · 08/04/2017 16:00

Only negative though is I'm "bigger lady" and being 28 weeks pregnant and having to crouch down to get to the Large drawers was not comfortable 😂😂😂 One of the assistants spotted me and literally grabbed and emptied the entire drawer on top for me. Utter angel 😇

Seahawk80 · 08/04/2017 16:50

Ha ha brilliant! I only got 5 pairs but wish I'd got more now - will go back next week when we go to buy the buggy - had to wait for a
new credit card bill!

glitterglitters · 08/04/2017 17:03

Haha do it! I'd love buy bras there but they don't do my size in there 😫😫😫😫

I've got some that "fit" but they don't really fit if you get me?

What pushchair/pram did you decide on? X

Seahawk80 · 08/04/2017 18:08

@glitterglitters we went for the bugaboo bee, I thought we would. I want one that is small and light enough to manage on public transport but comfy enough for baby to nap in. Also didn't want one that took up half our front room which I feel like our friends uppababy does. We have a really decent sized 2 bed flat but we have a front room and a kitchen / diner which I prefer but means that there isn't a big open plan place to put it in and realistically we won't be folding it and storing it in the car! It was good to try lots of different brands though and know that we've chosen the right one.

glitterglitters · 08/04/2017 18:13

That sounds ideal! We're lucky enough we have a large hallway so our graco fits (it's hugeeeeee). I've got a silver cross zest as well which is suitable from birth but is sooo lightweight. Dh isn't keen on the zest though as he thinks it feels flimsy but I love it.

Notyetthere · 08/04/2017 18:13

Glitter 😂 @ you crouching down to get the bigger sizes. I had the same in primark last night. I am a size 16 but to fit around the enormous bump, I wanted the 18 pants which were tucked away at the bottom. Sadly I didn't have a helpful member of staff to help out.

OP posts:
glitterglitters · 08/04/2017 18:21

@Notyetthere oh no! I don't know why they do it! 😂 the crouching feels so undignified/makes it feel like the baby may fall out 🙊

Kitsandkids · 08/04/2017 19:21

I have found out that Primark men's XL t shirts make great maternity t shirts. Only £2.50 and loads of colours!

Seahawk80 · 08/04/2017 19:24

I need to visit primark for some cheap knickers to wear after the birth and maybe something to give birth in so that I can just chuck it. Although maybe I'll feel sentimental and want to keep it!

glitterglitters · 08/04/2017 19:26

@Seahawk80 the top I gave birth to dd1 in I still have. It's clean and washed but I can't bear to wear it but can't bear to chuck it 😂

wildone81 · 08/04/2017 20:38

Can I have a small winger ladies?! On antibiotics and steroids for a chest infection, and besides feeling like death, I'm feeling irrationally guilty about taking anything whilst pregnant 😕

Also regretting not doing more pelvic floor exercises...hacking 'I'm about to expel a lung' cough and a 6 month bump don't mix....

Notyetthere · 09/04/2017 00:09

Kits that is very useful information about the xl tshirts. I really want one where I can drop one side or open a button to breast feed or for skin to skin. I want retain some modesty but maybe I'm asking for too much. I wish I was pregnant with twins; that way I go through the immodest business of birthing once and for all.

Ahhh feeling very excited today. Went to the first car boot of the year today and it was heaving!!

Lost track of how much i spent but it was less than £20! Managed to bag:-

2x maternity cropped jeans
1x maternity vest
1x maternity button down nightie
3x baby sleeping bags
1x baby blanket
1x baby quilt (cost £85 from The White Company and looks brand new!!)
3x baby hats
3x bibs
1x long sleeve body suit
5x short sleeve body suits
7x baby gros
17x books

I'm feeling a bit cheated that I've already bought some stuff brand new as so much of the stuff i bought today is brand new or very very lightly used!

Notyetthere · 09/04/2017 13:25

Cat that is a haul you have there! Well done on the bargains. I plan to get more second hand stuff in the bigger sizes when baby is here. I did buy 5 sleeping bags in varying sizes on eBay for £12. You are right, these things are barely used when we buy them.

OP posts:
CatRash · 09/04/2017 18:21

Thank you! I've tried to buy a variety of sizes - were not finding out the sex so it does mean I'm limited to choice at present so can't go overboard!!

Well done on the sleeping bag bargain - I love eBay too but don't always trust it - I bought a bundle of maternity trousers and had to bin three pairs out of the four as they were torn and stained! The fourth pair was ok but only because it was brand new!!!

glitterglitters · 10/04/2017 08:13

Is anybody else still feeling really nauseous. Not actually being sick, but just feeling generally queasy?

I've been up the last three nights, unable to sleep as I feel sick and uncomfortable. 😫

Notyetthere · 11/04/2017 08:12

Glitter I'm sorry you are feeling rubbish. Luckily I haven't felt too bad since 1st trimester. A few things did stay with me since though, I gag everytime I brush my teeth and the heart burn /acid reflux is also there lingering in the evenings so I glugg tonnes of gaviscon to keep it at bay.

OP posts:
LuciBee231015 · 11/04/2017 08:53

I haven't had any sickness since 14 weeks, I do get heartburn and swig on gaviscon!

Baby feels like it's really low down and I get really uncomfortable walking anywhere.

Still feeling incredibly anxious too and still no idea what about! I think everything is just becoming extremely real and every time baby moved it feels more and more like a human in there that is going to need to come out soon. It's so odd as I'm usually really laid back. I feel like the moment I realize I'm going into labour in going to panic big time, even though I have my 'plan'.

glitterglitters · 11/04/2017 09:11

Thankfully feeling a lot better and had a good night's sleep last night. Though tbh after dd accidentally head butted me i needed it 😱😱😱

Just a heads up to the first timers. Watch out they throw their heads back and head butt your shoulder and collarbone a lot. 🤣

I keep switching between having loads of energy and wanting to bin everything out of my house and wanting to climb in a hole and sleep. Thankfully the sunny weather has made me feel a lot more productive. 🙌🏼

danigrace · 11/04/2017 09:54

Hi girls, we've been swept up working evenings as well as days but DP and I work together so it's not so bad bc we keep each other smiling.
Went to a Mothercare expectant parent event on Sunday morning, this was the goody bag. Some cute stuff but prob worth less than the Mamas & Papas one with the vest/bib & £10 gift voucher in.

Also filed our taxes and filled in Maternity Allowance form ready to send off next week and filled in Sure Start Materninty Grant from whilst I was at it and stuck a post it to the envelope just saying what couple of bits need adding when baby is born (won't get posted til then).

How are you feeling @wildone81?

Great haul @CatRash, well done!!

Loving the thread-wide hunt and accumulation of nice comfy maternity knickers!! Haha

Due July 2017 #4 …… Well into 2nd Trimester! 20 Week Scans and Bumps Galore
CatRash · 11/04/2017 10:50

Glitter Omg yes!!! Had nausea in first trip but only actually vommed once so was very lucky. But the last week and a half I've had daily nausea and actually vommed at work on Friday!!! Think it's extreme heartburn that's causing it!!

Thanks Dani - looks alright for a free goody bag too! I haven't been to any events yet!!

Just off to 25 week midwife appointment.

ButterflyFree · 11/04/2017 11:02

I didn't have any morning sickness in the first trimester at all (thankfully!!) and the only vomiting incident I had was on the stormy seaplane in the Maldives during 2nd trimester - but that was just regular sea sickness I guess.

I've started having some heartburn/acid reflux after heavier meals lately, but nothing a couple of Tums antacid tablets can't put to rest.

Yesterday I suddenly had a shooting pain on the lower right side of my abdomen - felt like a really bad stitch and lasted for a few minutes before disappearing and then coming back again. Upon googling the symptom I have concluded it was Round Ligament Pain; all very normal, but it was unpleasant for a brief moment! Had a nice Lush bubble bath to relax afterwards and I haven't had any further recurrence.

LuciBee231015 · 11/04/2017 11:12

I have just booked a Groupon deal for a 4d baby scan next Tuesday. Was £79 down from £160, 20 mins from home! Get to see my bubbas little face 😬
