Cox I saw you on both meet ups and I strongly deny you are fat! There are more people who would agree with me.

1004Rise · 10/03/2017 14:18

Fox https://www.amazon.co.uk/Walkers-Monster-Munch-Variety-Snacks/dp/B00BHFED2I you'll thank us for it Grin

Cox and yes definitely extra fluid requiring the change of wedding ring!

Nurse we may have to have a pizza dinner tonight now Blush

I've just spent half an hour on Pinterest looking and saving ideas for a nursery in a house we haven't seen yet never mind bought!! This one should be on the market next week .... No way we're going to sell, find, buy and move before baby turns up... thank goodness for DPs with big enough house to camp out in with baby, dogs and cat for a few weeks!! ConfusedGrin

coxsorangepippin · 10/03/2017 14:21

newbie I certainly wasn't back then, but an extra couple of months plus exercising a lot less, and I'm a couple of sizes larger everywhere not just the bump. It's fine, I'm just not used to it!

nursebickypegs · 10/03/2017 14:26

I feel like my body has entirely changed; I'm quite stocky but have a flat tummy. Now I have a tummy and butt! Where did that come from?

RasperryInAMelon · 10/03/2017 15:04

Cox your daft mare! You're gorgeous and certainly not fat!

Those who came to the last meet ups, I have to admit - I can no longer get into that lovely green dress anymore! 🙈

stationaryace · 10/03/2017 15:49

They're not supposed to measure your BMI when pregnant as you've got a whole extra person in there, there's no way it can be accurate.

I still have wobbles second time round, usually when my dd has just done something funny/silly and I fret about not giving her the attention she's had until now, am I rocking the boat now we're in a good rhythm etc. Like just now she's trying to take photos with our room thermometer, going around the place shouting "cheese" and shoving it in both our faces. But then she hugs the bump and goes on about being a big sister and I shove it all out of my head.

Pickled onion over beef, every time Wink

PeachIcedT · 10/03/2017 16:02

I'm just about fitting into enough clothing that I can rotate through 5 different work outfits but they are getting a beating in the washing machine!

Have a day off today, and thank goodness as this burning rib pain is a huge distraction from me being able to do my job. Went shopping but hugely uninspired by maternity options in store. What I'm really wanting is maternity dresses with pockets (as it's hard to function at work without pockets) but these seem so difficult to find.

Sorry that some of you are having a tougher time, must admit I had a slight wobble yesterday thinking about how I'm going to get this baby out of my body but luckily my rational side took over and I've assured myself I'll manage Smile

1004Rise · 10/03/2017 16:30

Peached are long cardigans with pockets an option for work? That was my solution to the lack of pockets in maternity clothes in general...

Badgerbird · 10/03/2017 16:36

Oh nurse I think we've all had those wobbles and I know low blood sugar makes mine a lot worse. The buggy is bound to be bringing up some difficult memories Flowers

missmoo those due dates that never were are hard work :( please try not to feel guilty and enjoy as much as you can of the little baby wriggling inside you.

nurse twist shini and missmoo I may sound bonkers but I like to think that the 2 miscarriages I had was this little one trying to get here, she didn't quite make it those 2 times but she def is now!

Can I join the crap sleep club please as I had a fast and furious stomach bug last night! Throwing guts up in toilet whilst clenching buttocks so as not to pop out more piles (tmi!!) was NOT on my agenda!! Confused Now biggest work wknd at a 2 day event. Feeling so much better today though :)

Rustler74 · 10/03/2017 16:36

I'm with @FoxMulder and @ShiniBerry on the monster munch!
@nursebickypegs wth with that sort comments like the feet tickling
@nursebickypegs and @RasperryInAMelon I'm pretty sure I had a massive wobble yesterday at antenatal clinic. They set me crying twice for ridiculous reasons!

OP posts:
PeachIcedT · 10/03/2017 16:53

Rise thanks that's a good idea, I just need the pockets to be nice and sturdy enough to hold my work pager, I'll have a look for some cardigans!

nursebickypegs · 10/03/2017 17:23

@PeachIcedT have you tried Dorothy Perkins? They don't have a maternity range in store but I got a fab black wrap dress for my interviews which doubles up as a breastfeeding friendly dress too. It's really lovely. No pockets mind, but I did just google "black wrap dress" haha!

nursebickypegs · 10/03/2017 17:25

@stationaryace my first midwife really lectured me on my weight and sent me to slimming world. I got a horrible leaflet about all the things that I won't be able to do while being pregnant and fat. Then today when I got weighed and I've gained no weight, she's concerned. I can't chuffing win.

nursebickypegs · 10/03/2017 17:31

Thank you @Badgerbird and @Rustler74. My miscarriage left me just angry and hurt, and I felt like I blamed myself. DH was amazing and supportive, but it felt so ~taboo to speak about. I got no follow up from my GP or the consultants and just muddled through. I swear I hate our buggy for these reasons, as it was the only think I bought when I found out I was pregnant.

Wobbles always seem to happen when DH has been a prat and my cats have run rampant. I'm convinced the baby will turn feral and hunt with the cats.

I've just spent the last hour explaining to my mum a C-section. Not sure if I've mentioned on here that I'm having a planned section because they are worried about Bubs heart and I have an hip condition. They have told me that Bub will be born "week commencing may 22". She's now decided she wants to go on holiday (?!??!) and doesn't understand how a baby can be planned. I explained because of his heart condition, they can plan a C Section etc but she doesn't get it. She wants to on holiday and needs to know now what date he will be born! Ffs.

PeachIcedT · 10/03/2017 17:44

Thanks nurse I hadn't really considered Dorothy Perkins - though pocketless is my usual essential criteria I guess it's less necessary once I stop working.

Is it not enough information for your mum that you already know the week of your c section so she can plan around that?

PeachIcedT · 10/03/2017 17:44

Pocketless pockets ARE

growcookeat · 10/03/2017 17:44

1004 and others I had the exact same sleepless night! Terrible heartburn at 3am then awake for hours. At least baby was awake keeping me company!

Survived school trip today despite the lack of sleep. After that and parents evening in the same week I'm hoping I can stay awake long enough to eat dinner tonight.

I also have never eaten monster munch or space raiders! The whole onion thing just makes me feel sick.

Currently waiting in the car while DH does a mad snack dash in the shop - I've asked for mini cheddars, coleslaw, Fanta lemon and any kind of chocolate 🙈. It's a good job my tummy is hidden inside this bump!

nursebickypegs · 10/03/2017 17:54

@PeachIcedT no apparently not! Where's an eyeroll emoji when I need it? I've just told her she best not leave me with a newborn and my mother in law, as I will not be responsible for my actions.

Yup DP is actually good quality! I can see myself wearing the dress after Bub is here as it's smart. I got some maternity bits from new look, but they are more casual.

Teaspoon74 · 10/03/2017 18:30

Nurse - "feral and hunt with the cats" stop!! Gave me the giggles imaging little pre-rugrat doing all the daft jumping at shadows and mouse catching that our furballs do!! Good luck with the mum convo! How can she not understand that it's an imprecise science? Or were you bang on time?

Rustler- I've just given in to the tears now. They happen for no apparent reason and I can't stop 'em! MW is convinced I have mental health issues (and has written so in my notes!) because I sob each time I hear the heartbeat and got upset when she made some comment about mums and bonding (mine died years ago. It the whole pregnancy thing means I'm pretty thin skinned when it comes to mum comments ATM). I think it's perfectly natural to cry/ get emotional about some things. That's what emotionally mature people do, right?

Badger - seriously? Butt clenching? Does that stop them? You are now responsible for guffaws on the 168!!

Peach dunno what size you normally are, but Monsoon and House of Fraser have sales at the moment and go up to size 22 at the moment. Lots of picketed dresses too. As Boden, but no sale there that I'm aware of.

Teaspoon74 · 10/03/2017 18:42

Feel like we need a google poll or sthg to settle the MM argument once and for all!! I may have to take a couple of packets to the next meet up just in case any of you lovelies who've never known monster love can try them!!!

100Rise - good luck with the house hunt and Pinterest is fab!!! I spent hours on there about 18months ago when planning my kitchen. OH couldn't see the point in spending so much time on colours, floor tiles, wall paint etc ..... until we saw the finished product and the time and effort was worth it!!

Oh, and I can't bring myself to watch The Replacement either!

Rasperry - I have mat cover envy!! My no 2 is stepping up but the IVs to backfill his post were today. 3 of 4 cancelled and we decided not to appoint the one we saw (nice enough gal but not right) so with the clock ticking, we're no closer. Eek!!

Shini. - worst bit of the regular colds for me is when the coughing makes me wee ;(. Best bit is that my core gets a work out as I've done screw all exercise apart from a couple of half arsed swims over the past 4 months!

nursebickypegs · 10/03/2017 18:42

@Teaspoon74 funny you should say that as my
Midwife thought I was weird as I'm so casual about everything and my DH is the one crying. I'm a bit of a stone cold robot and just hide everything away. I have cried over this pregnancy and how lucky I am, it's just been on my own! I can't imagine losing your Mum and I'm sorry about my silly comments about mine! I'd be lost without her in reality.

It will happen, little Bub crawling up the curtains and chasing toys on the carpet. The cats will raise him.

MrsJW15 · 10/03/2017 18:42

Peach I've rarely found mat clothes in store. Most of my stuff has been online. Top Shop, New Look, DP, Gap, ASOS. Not sure I've got loads of pockets though!

It's beginning to feel like time for some more spring-like stuff, but I don't want to buy too much. Thinking nursing dresses but I can't find anything yet!

Barnes79 · 10/03/2017 18:44

Teaspoon - how my opinion of you has changed! Pickled onion monster munch are the best!! And Fox / Grow / Rustler / Shini - you've not lived if you haven't had monster munch (I also recommend the Flamin Hot ones too - everyone knows the roast beef ones are the worst Wink )

Anyone else now have the biggest craving for monster munch Blush

Anyone else find that when they get home from work they just need a quiet half hour or so to relax and lie down? Hubby just tried to interrupt and lie down with me - breathing on my neck - and I got snappish and told him to leave me alone. Don't know what it is - I was so achy after a busy day and walking the dog after work and I guess cos I spend most of my day touching and talking to people (I'm a physio, nothing creepy), I just need that quiet time to relax. Plus it's my first chance all day to feel the baby properly moving. Anyone feel this way or am I just being a grumpy b*tch?

nursebickypegs · 10/03/2017 18:51

@Barnes79 nope, I'm the same. I like to have some time to decompress and sit in silence, and husband comes in and starts hugging me. No! Let me enjoy my last few weeks of my own company!

Has anyone got plans for the weekend?

PeachIcedT · 10/03/2017 18:53

Thanks Teaspoon and MrsJW, I'm going to scour their online sites. I agree now it's getting milder it's the point at which I'd normally be looking for new items but don't want to buy anything only suitable until the birth. Definitely need some handy nursing dresses, another thing to sort!

I'm not planning on watch The Replacement either, but it is advertised all the time between every BBC show, and then I was in John Lewis today and some women were eagerly talking about watching the next one, I can't escape it!
