32 weeks today! Really struggling this week with a horrible cough and cold. Poor baby keeps being shook about by the force of my coughing, DH is actually worried the coughing will make him pop out Sad. And to make it even better the coughing is making my vomiting worse-joy! Seeing my GP this evening to see if there's anything I can take (Boots blackcurrant glycerine syrup does F* all for easing it-yummy though!).

At least it's Friday!

nursebickypegs · 10/03/2017 09:36

@ShiniBerry I personally swear by warm orange juice. My mum use to make it for me as a kid, I always had nasty chest infections. Sounds gross but with paracemtol it's the same as lemsip! Sounds like something that is going about as that's what DH has and is rotten.

nursebickypegs · 10/03/2017 09:37

@Teaspoon74 bork!!! Definitely want roast beef crisps now.

Just downed a pint of lucozade and was weighed. Gained no weight, have a BMI of 36 and midwife is confused why I'm having growth scans. Don't take them away from me! I want to see Bub!

MissMooMoo · 10/03/2017 09:45

Fell asleep last night on the sofa in my dressing gown after a bath. Forgot to eat dinner, oops! DH came home at 11 and found me asleep, very nicely made me a pot noodle Blush I managed to sleep all night and I feel absolutely amazing and refreshed this morning, it makes such a diff!
Working today (usually off on a Fri) but have taken Monday off next week instead so have 3 days next week and 2 the following week as DH and I are off to Malta for 5 days.
When we get back I have 2 of my usual 4 day weeks and then I am off! Have strated to countdown the days now.

I am also feeling a bit weepy and its probay hormones. I had an early MC at 6 weeks the cycle before this baby was conceived and my due date for that baby is fast approaching. Feel so guilty about being excited about this baby, which I know is silly as I wouldn't have this little one if I hadn't lost the first one. Ahh I am a big mess!!

McBaby · 10/03/2017 09:48

Sorry everyone else had bad nights.

I have been awake half the night due to hip pain, and lots of contractions with period pain (I had similar with the last two but this is the first time I have had them this time)! Thankfully I managed an hour of sleep between dd2 waking at 5am coughing and dhs alarm at 6 which seems to settle my uterus down!

nursebickypegs · 10/03/2017 10:02

@MissMooMoo my due date for the baby I lost was Nov 11. I always think about it, and try and think how old he/she would be now. Sad

Teaspoon74 · 10/03/2017 10:04

Shini - that's horrid. Think I've had 3 colds during pregnancy. Dr pals say it's to be expected as immune system is low Hmm. Just keep thinking - not too long to go now.

MissMoo- enjoy the break. And hugs. Difficult time, but just imagine the joy to come!

Nurse & Newbie - nomnomnom!!

Another one in the rough night club, just getting over my cold , Shini I have been overloading on vit c and b to try to get over it . Mcbaby i had bad braxton hicks and cramping last night, tied in with baby wriggling so much thought he was going to punch his way out. Can't complain too much as with the anterior placenta it's actually nice to feel baby more.

I'm working from home today and it's worked out well as there has been massive delays with my normal tube line this morning

Must get myself some of these monster munch later Grin

nursebickypegs · 10/03/2017 10:12

@Teaspoon74 aaargh gimme!!! I've just remembered I have kraft Mac and cheese in my cupboard. I'm basically daydreaming of all the food I want to eat.

1004Rise · 10/03/2017 10:14

Going to break the trend... pickled onion monster munch are much better!!Grin

FoxMulder · 10/03/2017 10:43

Gonna blow your minds here. I've never tried monster munch Grin

Teaspoon74 · 10/03/2017 10:46

Vanilla - I still don't know how to distinguish between tumbles, hits, kicks and hix Confused

Rise - bleurgh Envy. I'm putting that down to baby - everyone knows beef is best Smile

Feeling a bit iffy today. Got home early yesterday after a conference and managed to put away a packet of boiled ham, some Heinz beans and sausages from a tin (small), 2 potato waffles, an egg and a trifle. Spent eve and night feeling uncomfortably stuffed, though first time in ages have kept meal down.

Interviewing for backfill to my team today. Meant to be seeing three people. Two have cancelled so now only one! Really hope they're good as I want someone to start in next month or so so we can sort out duties before I bugger off and leave my guys to it!

Who accepts an invitation to international view then cancels the day before?!?

1004Rise · 10/03/2017 11:18

Fox how? Next you'll be telling us you've never had space raiders either!

Tea can't blame the baby pickled anything is always better Wink Good luck with the interview hope they're good, do you need to add their monster munch preference to the list of questions? That's just bad manners from the other two cancelling the day before!

We've found half my maternity cover and we're interviewing the other half next week... so I should have a good handover time Smile (still not watching The Replacement though!)

savagehk · 10/03/2017 11:42

Sorry to hear that nurse. Sounds like the pushchair you have is fine, though, as you can recline it flat even though it doesn't have a separate bassinetty-thing?

nursebickypegs · 10/03/2017 11:50

Home! Felt so dizzy waiting, so shoved the cereal bar in my mouth and husband says he will collect dominos for being an arse last night. GET INNNNNNNN!!!!

ShiniBerry · 10/03/2017 12:14

Nurse I'll try warm orange, hate lemsip so can't stomach the idea of it but warm orange is probably much better.

MissMoo and Nurse I know how you feel, I had an early m/c at 6-7 weeks about 3 months before this pregnancy. The due date was Jan 21- it was difficult and very emotional to go through that while pregnant (I felt guilty about being pregnant again like it was dishonouring that baby's memory). We decided to take it easy that day and fed the ducks in the park and gave a donation to Tommy's for m/c research. I think find something that will help you both get through the day. Lots of hugs to you Flowers

McBaby that sounds a lot like what I had a few weeks ago and was pretty scary for me. Haven't had them since. I hope they settle down for you.

Teaspoon and Vanilla agreed, colds at this stage are the worst. Sneezing and coughing makes my stomach muscles and ligaments ache so much.

Fox another monster munch virgin here!

MrsJW15 · 10/03/2017 12:16

Ha good work Nurse. Made DH take me out last night so I didn't have to cook which was great!

Tea that's so weird - not just one person cancelling but two! I'm hoping that we appoint my successor today (I will be coming back to a different job).

Have found the carseat we want - MaxiCosi Cabriofix - with another £5 off so definitely ordering that this weekend, along with a few other bits.

RasperryInAMelon · 10/03/2017 12:47

@nursebickypegs I've had a few wobbles like that the last few weeks. A genuine worry of 'I'm not ready for this' - be strong lovely! We'll be fine!

@Teaspoon74 I could murder a packet of beef monster munch now! 🙈

@FoxMulder @ShiniBerry whaaaaaat! 😳

@1004Rise my Mat cover was offered yesterday! He starts on the 20th!

@nursebickypegs 🍕🍕🍕 DH is away now so might treat myself tonight!

CinnamonTwist · 10/03/2017 12:48

Missmoo I had a miscarriage immediately before this pregnancy too (at 8wks), previous due date was 2 days ago. I did have a bit of a sad moment thinking about it when I realised what the date was, I think it would have been much worse if I hadn't had this baby now to look forward to. Don't feel that you shouldn't be sad about the one you lost, allow yourself that feeling/moment, it is also good to have your current baby to look forward to soon though Grin

FoxMulder · 10/03/2017 13:10

1004 It's just never come up! I haven't had space raiders either.

peasandquiet · 10/03/2017 13:59

Loving the extremes of chat today 😂

Firstly Fox get yourself down the shop and buy some flaming hot monster munch, your life will be changed (your welcome!)

Secondly all of you lovlies having wobbles for whatever reason, it's ok to feel that way. This is the most rewarding lifechanging thing your going to be doing for a while, it's completely natural to feel apprehensive about it. Flowers for all those who had losses before this pregnancy, I can't imagine what you've been through but the bit you've all been waiting for is coming very soon so please find the joy in that.

nursebickypegs · 10/03/2017 14:00

Is anyone else part of the bump, baby and you group on FB? Someone has posted today that you shouldn't tickle a baby's feet as it's affects their speech and I'm just gobsmacked at stupid people!

The pizza was good everyone and now I've got into super nesting mode... I scrubbed my wheelie bin inside and out. Grin

EsmesBees · 10/03/2017 14:02

nurse, raspberry no one is ever ready for this. It's a great big leap in to the unknown and I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't be scared by that. You'll learn as you go, and as soon as you think 'I've got this sorted' the next stage will start. But it's also the best thing in the world, the first smiles, hugs, 'luv woos' make it all worth it.

coxsorangepippin · 10/03/2017 14:03

I have now swapped my usual wedding ring for a larger size... I'm putting this down to the extra blood (it mostly got tight when I was hot) and insisting it is unconnected to me just being fatter all over Blush

nurse, raspberry I'm with you on the wobbles. I think it's normal though. My mum says it was all fine once we actually arrived.

rise pickled onion definitely best.

nursebickypegs · 10/03/2017 14:04

Thank you everyone for the love on the wobbles. I've been really confident with this pregnancy and not worried at all; just suddenly this morning I woke up terrified like "I can't do this".
