Hey sickrose, great that the meds are working! I'm due back to work on Weds but have had a run of bad days with sickness. Seeing midwife tomorrow for 16 week appt.

WantingBaby1 · 06/03/2017 18:07

Hi ladies, been a bit quiet here as still suffering from horrible migraines. Ive been to the GP and midwife a couple of times each, been tested for everything and they just tell me it's hormones. I'm 18 weeks now, surely hormones settle down by now? It's gotten so bad that I've taken a day off from work almost every week for the last 7 or so, sometimes 2 days. My boss is fortunately very understanding but it's still difficult. And the pain is just agony when all I can take is paracetamol, which doesn't even touch it. I literally wanted to cut my head open just to relieve the pressure last night! (Well, not literally, but you get my drift). Going to go back (again) and ask for a referral to a specialist. Has anyone else had similar problems?

AiryFairy1991 · 06/03/2017 20:25

Hello all!
Missed he last thread and this one so far cause I was feeling really quite terrible and hearing about everyone else's nausea was making mines way worse! Luckily it seems to have mostly passed although I've still been unable to keep down certain red meats!
Wanting I also struggle with migraines but not nearly as regularly as you! I've had to take one full day and a half day off but I'm afraid I'm not much help, the only thing I've been told is paracetamol and you're right it makes no difference! My midwife suggested keeping a diary of foodstuffs is eaten to see if there was a particular trigger? But if it's hormone related I'm not sure it would be much use!

I have the most humungous bump at 17+3! Was at a wedding yesterday and a lady who is 26 weeks had a bump similar in size to mine. It's making me think about those big 14 pound babies and worrying I'm growing one of them! Grin
Either that or they've missed a twin in the 12 week scan. 20 week scan date has been moved back a week so I have a whole month still to go Sad

TMI26 · 07/03/2017 09:38

Airy I'm 17 + 2 and developing a bump, although sometimes it's huge and sometimes hardly noticeable, which makes me think it's mainly gas. My brother is not helping by sharing how small his colleague is at26 weeks, have my brothers wedding in a month and I'm hoping I will still get into the dress!

MrsG280516 · 07/03/2017 09:45

Whoops, keep falling off this thread. Feeling very organised, we bought our travel system and Next2Me crib at the weekend and it gets delivered today Grin we didn't see any reason in delaying the delivery as we have the space to store it. Can't wait to have a look at it all again.

Bryonie2017 · 07/03/2017 12:29

Hi Mrs glad to hear someone else is buying stuff, we got all our nursery furniture delivered yesterday and I feel very proud of myself for putting the sofa bed together! Chest of drawers is next, then the actual baby bits. It gets more real every day doesn't it?

NoCryingInEngineering · 07/03/2017 13:52

I had my 16wk appointment this morning and got to hear the heartbeat and then effectively hear it Boing! off to party on the other side. I've been convinced I'm feeling a few little movements from time to time over the past week or so. If this one is as active as DS was its only going to get more obvious.

I've gone up 2 cup sizes and had to buy a couple of extra bras. Currently managing to skate by in a pair of one size up work trousers and a pair of jeans rescued from the charity shop pile. I feel like I have an obvious bump now but probably don't really. So far my line manager at work knows but I haven't told anyone else. I was hoping to make it to 20wks but I think it will be far too obvious by then so may need to go public soon

MrsG280516 · 07/03/2017 15:02

That's lovely Bryonie we've also ordered our nursery furniture as it was on sale anyway so that should come next week. It'll be nice to have most of the big things out of the way by 20 weeks! Looking forward to our 20 week scan next Friday, I'll be 19+5.

PancakesAndMapleSyrup · 08/03/2017 11:05

Ladies! Just got back from our 20 week scan. All seems fine although head is a little on the small side. We are having a GIRL!!! Eeek Grin
I have 4 growth scans booked in so about a month until the next scan.
The top if my bump (under boobs) is really painful at the moment. I cant poo anymore (despite fybogel) and heartburn has reared its ugly head in the past few days. Not at all pleasant. Bleed has cleared up in the past 2 weeks but when baby moves the side is very very tender.
halfway point!! 20 weeks to go!

Sparklyuggs · 08/03/2017 11:26

Glad the scan went well pancake

I've been cheering myself up during feeling lethargic and achey whilst studying by ordering some babygros Smile

Congratulations on the scan pancake! Hope your symptoms get better soon xx

IntoTheWoods84 · 08/03/2017 17:48

Yay pancake! Can't believe I have to wait til I'm 22 weeks...counting the days. Had a gender scan though - little boy!

PancakesAndMapleSyrup · 10/03/2017 11:20

Sparkly, shopping is good therapy!! And the tiredness is knackering.
Thanks llemma!!
Into, congrats on a boy!! 22 weeks agrh its the waiting!
Dh did put his head in his hands at the scan once we were told it was a girl and just mumbled 'but girls are sooo hard!' Haha. I pointed out that just having the 3rd was going to be hard work. Our daughter is 6 and very loving but my god the moods are something else!

clevername · 10/03/2017 22:27

Hi again everyone.
I haven't checked in for AGES! (Largely because work has been so busy). Pleased to hear everyone's scan news but sorry that there are some who are suffering with sickness etc...
I've had my 16 week midwife appointment and heard the heartbeat (eventually.... she couldn't find it for ages - was really nerve wracking!). Haven't started feeling movements yet, which is a shame because I did at around this time in my last pregnancy. I have an anterior placenta this time so I'm guessing that must be why.
My bump's nice and prominent now and I'm enjoying showing it off (but still struggling to find maternity clothes that I like and that fit me!).

IntoTheWoods84 · 11/03/2017 00:17

Hehe my immediate thought was 'oh god teenage boys are so stinky' but I was happy either way. Boy names are so hard though - had a girls name picked out but no idea now!

JLou93 · 11/03/2017 09:27

Hi all!
Bit of a late comer to mumsnet but I've just joined at 18+6 so am due on 6th August - can't wait!
Had a gender scan a couple of weeks back and found out we're having a little boy but I'm excited for my 20 week scan in a week and a half to see the little one again :)
I'm looking forward to seeing how everybody else is getting on - great to hear from so many people at the same stage as me with this being my first.

Imaystillbedrunk · 11/03/2017 11:54

Hello, another late comer. Due 22nd with my second child.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 11/03/2017 12:45

Lovely to read everyone's updates!

I've had a shit couple of days. Had my first bleed on Thursday afternoon & my irritable uterus has going from being mildly annoying to properly irritating (hence the bleed). Was scanned in EPAU & baby is fine but I've been given a consultants appt for Tuesday as well as my one at 24 weeks. They're sticking with the explanation that the bleeding is caused by the friction of the contractions as my sch has completely reabsorbed. One thing has to be said for my dc they're predictably worrying from the off Sad!

hrfvenia · 11/03/2017 12:49

We had our gender scan yesterday and one happy healthy baby boy was bouncing round the screen!

Even the midwife shouted at him 😂

Hi newbies, JLou93 we have the same due date Smile

Nightneverchanges · 12/03/2017 08:44

IntoTheWoods84 I was a bit terrified of having a boy too with my first as I am from a family of only girls but hand on heart boys are brilliant! All the irrational worries I had (hate cars, boy clothes are crap, endless penis related horrors) are not relevant really. I have a girl too and she's the exact opposite of what I expected a daughter to be.

TLDR, they're great regardless!

candycane85 · 12/03/2017 09:06

Hello all, I'm also new. I'm due my second girl on 14th August (after an 8 year gap)

IntoTheWoods84 · 12/03/2017 14:17

Hehe nightnever I'm actually pretty glad it's a boy! I'm such a tomboy myself and I've always had more male friends growing up so I kinda get little boys a bit more I guess!?

Starting to feel more real although severe morning sickness for 4 months means I have no bump at all - feel him wiggling about now so that's reassuring!

Hey newbies!

bernards really hope consultant appt helps. sounds really tough going but very glad baby is fine. I'm very high risk for some serious postpartum stuff and have a ton of doctors and professors on my case - it's hard feeling there's an 'extra' risk as its scary enough already! I'll be thinking of you on Tuesday. x

alloveragainchoo · 12/03/2017 17:01

Hi all
I've got my 20w scan on Wednesday so fingers crossed all is well, and can't wait to find out the sex Grin
