Hey - anybody here mind if I join? I'm due with my first on 6th August and have my 20 week scan on Monday. Haven't felt the baby move yet at all though so I'm hoping they'll tell me at the scan that I have an anterior placenta and that's why! Envious of all those feeling kicks already.

April1984 · 26/03/2017 16:32

Happy Mother's Day all. I'm 18 weeks and have felt movement since 15 weeks but have had barely any this last few days. Anyone had the same st this stage. This is baby 3 for me and I don't remember what it was like before! Last time I saw the doc he said ad hoc movement is normal but need more reassurance! X

JLou93 · 26/03/2017 16:45

April1984, Happy Mother's Day to you too! I'm 21 weeks now and had a similar experience with you in terms of movement. Felt a fair bit of movement around the 16/17 week stage and then had a couple of weeks where he was much quieter. Back to being a fidget now so I wouldn't panic :)

April1984 · 26/03/2017 16:48

Thanks JLou!

Linner83 · 27/03/2017 16:12

19 weeks today and started with d+v feeling rotten
Called the maternity assessment unit- they just advised me to keep drinking fluids

EllaNB · 27/03/2017 19:07

I everyone :) can I join in late here?

I was not initially sure which month to join as I am 17 weeks pregnant with twins and the official due date is September the 1st, but because I am having identical twins I have been told that I will either be induced or have a csection at 36 weeks. So my new due date is August the 1st :)

MrsG280516 · 28/03/2017 13:48

Hi everyone, welcome newbies!

The facebook group is quite a bit busier than this thread so don't forget to message sparklyuggs, sociallyacceptablecookie or me if you want to join.

I'm 21+2 now and feeling movements quite regularly. Nothing from the outside yet though so still waiting for DH to be able to feel our little girl.

April1984 · 28/03/2017 16:45

Hey I messaged sparklylugs but my email associated with my Facebook is an old email I can't access, will it still work? Thanks x

EllaNB · 28/03/2017 19:59

I am new to Mumsnet and not quite sure how I message yo all?

Any advice would be appreciated :)

Stinkbaby · 29/03/2017 08:25

I had my 20 week scan yesterday, baby is doing well apart from it's belly is a bit big which is either a growth spurt or I may have pregnancy diabetes. I have to have a gtt test done but it's not for another 3 weeks. I'm feeling very sorry for myself today cuz all baby wants is the sweet stuff grr
Anyone else have this issue? X

MrsG280516 · 30/03/2017 11:13

EllaNB you need to go on mumsnet from a web browser rather than the app and then there is the option above the user (within the thread) to message poster.

MustBeThursday · 31/03/2017 22:21

Hello all, seem to have dropped off the thread a bit...anyroad, had my 20 week scan on Wednesday, all parts seem to be present and in working order, and looks like another little girl!

Stinkbaby baby is measuring below average length and head and above average tummy on my scan print out thing in my notes, but not right at the top of the scale if that makes sense. Is your baby top of the scale? Didn't realise that was an indicator for diabetes.

Sickness largely abated now and I'm hungry but I still don't enjoy any food. The only taste I'm craving is salt! Still can't drink/make/look at tea or coffee.

April1984 · 01/04/2017 09:35

Hey can anyone help me join the Facebook group please? Thanks x

Stinkbaby · 01/04/2017 14:23

Baby's belleh was very big, they said it could just be a big baby or it could be a sign of diabetes. I have to get tested to find out. I'm sure they would have mentioned to you if they were worried about anything like they did with me. X

MustBeThursday · 01/04/2017 15:15

Hopefully just a big baby for you. My work colleagues that asked to see the scan commented on how round baby looks. That said they keep saying how big I am and lots of "jokes" about being sure it's not twins Hmm trying not to let it bother me - I know it shouldn't but I feel like a whale - I looked at a picture of me at 28 weeks with DD and I think I'm about that size now...

Stinkbaby · 01/04/2017 20:08

Yea I hope it's just a big baby too, they don't seem too bothered because my test isn't for 3 weeks!
I think next time they mention how big you're looking just tell them you need a big dump, that'll shut them up for a minute. It's hard not to get sensitive about things when you have so many emotions going on isn't it? I've never cried so much in my whole life!

Musicgrrl · 03/04/2017 10:39

Hi everyone - I was hoping to join you all, sorry I'm a bit late to the party!

My EDD is 14 Aug so I'm 21 weeks today with our first baby. We found out at our 20 week scan that we are expecting a little girl.

MrsG has just invited me to the FB group so I'll see you over there!

WantingBaby1 · 03/04/2017 13:43

Hello ladies,

I'm also slightly concerned about baby having a big tummy - nothing has been mentioned to be but I had my 20 week scan and all ranges are within the 5-95 percentile range, but sonographer has booked us in for a growth scan. Not sure why tbh, maybe because we're new to the area and so had our 12 week scan at our previous trust, or maybe because baby's tummy is on the larger side? Our lowest score on the range was approx 30 for TCD and our largest was approx 80 for AC.

As I say, nothing has been mentioned about it but I worry I'm at risk of gestational diabetes as although I eat a really healthy diet, lots of fiber and fruit and veg, I have got a sweet tooth and am partial to cookies and chocolate. I was 26.5 BMI when I got pregnant and have put on 12lb in the 22 weeks, which is on the slightly high side I think. Am I right to worry? My urine was tested for protein at around 12 weeks when I was having frequent migraines but was negative and was told I wasn't the correct body shape to develop pre-eclampsia.

How big does baby's tummy have to be to worry/be tested??

NoCryingInEngineering · 04/04/2017 09:11

20 week scan for us yesterday and it looks like a wee girl! Was a little surprised, but it's going to be great having one of each.

I've to go back for a further scan at 36 weeks as the placenta is slightly lower than they would like but this apparently normally fixes itself. Next MW appointment is not until 28wks, so the next thing is probably to formally notify HR at work

Am having one of those days where i forgot what month the baby is due :(

My dh and I have picked a name for our little boy, but am suddenly wondering what we will do if anyone we know has a baby and calls it the name we have picked.

Most of the people we know seem to be due after us, but someone popped up today on Facebook, having popped themselves today ;) hadn't even contemplated it before, until i had a panic that they had had a boy and might have chosen the same name!

alloveragainchoo · 12/04/2017 19:07

Don't let that worry you, surely the chances are slim, sooo many names to pick from.
What name have you picked?
I'm having a boy too and I've been telling people that I've got two names in mind and than telling them the names as if to put my ownership over them lol
We are calling this little boy Ronnie, can't wait to meet him

Fuggyann · 12/04/2017 21:45

We are going for Max :) but have kept it a secret so no-one else can weigh in!
Haha!

MrsG280516 · 13/04/2017 13:11

We have also picked a name for our little girl - Thea. We have a family member due next month though who are team yellow so we won't announce until we know what name they've chosen!
