If anyone lives near Bath, they have a walk-in between 8am-9am in the early pregnancy unit where you can go for checks without booking appointments.

After cramps and pains I'll be going there tomorrow morning! Fingers crossed they find a heartbeat.

Congratulations to everyone who have had good scan results!!

As a first time mum it's very scary (although exciting) and I need the reassurance of other people going through the same thing. So thank you allSmile

88claire · 02/03/2017 18:24

Pregnancy is a weird thing. Woke up first time after a night shift and panicked because I didn't feel sick and my boobs didn't hurt. Went back to sleep and woke up, threw up and can't put my bra on! Ouch!

OH been sent to get salt and vinegar chip shop chips as that's all I fancy before my final night.

I'm thinking of coming clean and asking them to reduce my nights... Theyre a killer! I slept all day and feel terrible now 🤢

Allykatz · 02/03/2017 18:28

tigger it will be internal as it's too early for external. It's exactly what I had this morning. They said it would be like a smear but I can say it's not like that at all. It was painless and not in the slightest uncomfortable. Make sure u completely empty bladder before x

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 02/03/2017 18:48

Tigger it could be abdominal. I've only ever had internals that early, but I was 6+4 today and he did an abdominal and could see it fine. Rather puzzled as I went for a dating scan at 11+0 weeks with Ds2 because they wouldn't believe my dates, and really struggled to see him abdominally then!! And then I had to go back because it was too early for the nuchal test like I'd said all along!

ThatGirl82 · 02/03/2017 18:54

Another ravenous one here. I got home from work the other evening and ate a scotch egg in bed before having a nap Blush

The boyfriend is currently on his way home from work with fish & chips and I'm being so impatient waiting for them! I really didn't want to put lots of weight on whilst pregnant but it looks like that might be hard to avoid.

Rachieg88 · 02/03/2017 19:07

I wish I was hungry!! Im having the opposite issue where even just the thought of food is making me gag right now... Foetuses can survive on just polo mints right??!! Confused

Happy to hear that so many people are having positive scans, must be such a nice relief for you all Smile

DancingUnicorn · 02/03/2017 19:10

Rachie, I'm with you. At what point should I be worried about the amount of weight I'm losing? :s xxx

DancingUnicorn · 02/03/2017 19:11

Whoops, was in text mode there!

DrMum83 · 02/03/2017 19:15

When I was pregnant with my dd, I hardly ate for the first 20 weeks as I had no appetite and survived on haribo tangfastic. I gained 6.5kg in the whole pregnancy and she was a healthy 7lb baby. Don't worry too much!

DancingUnicorn · 02/03/2017 19:16

Ok, that's good to know! Thanks!

Rachieg88 · 02/03/2017 19:25

Phew!!!

Rachieg88 · 02/03/2017 19:28

PS when I read your message I suddenly had a big urge to eat some foam shrimps so perhaps I can vary my diet slightly and have a few of them for dinner tonight!

DrMum83 · 02/03/2017 19:43

lol, it's all about the haribo!

greentreeseverywhere · 02/03/2017 19:47

I come with happy positive news!!
AM had some of my health issues looked at and was all signed off Grin no more hospital visits for me (in that department anyway!!)
PM had a private scan and saw a massive jellybean and healthy heart beat and 5 days earlier then I had worked out. Grin
I'm so happy feel so much more relaxed and looking forward to the next phase.
still some anxiety as I lost my last pregnancy at 12 weeks but all positive for now!!!
much love peace and happiness to all you ladies xxxxFlowers

Emberblu · 02/03/2017 19:53

Rachieg88 I'm exactly the same I can't stand the sight smell or thought of food it's very frustrating. Instead of hunger I get tummy gurgles that make me want to throw up 🤢 so wish I was one of those who don't get sickness! It's horrible, depressing and frustrating.

10storeylovesong · 02/03/2017 20:11

I agree ember, it really is depressing. I finished work a few hours early today and went home, got my pjs on, got in bed and had a nap. I could have picked up my ds early from the in laws but I just didn't have the energy. I didn't even tell dh that I'd finished and gone home for a sleep, I've still not told him. I feel so guilty but I just couldn't face it.

Lovechild2016 · 02/03/2017 20:21

Vommed on myself in the shower this morning. On the bright side though I felt better as soon as it happened and was able to eat a sausage sandwich which kept the nausea at bay until lunch. I call that winning!

Rachieg88 · 02/03/2017 20:32

It's so funny that everyone who has no sickness wants to get some, everyone who has sickness wants it to go away, everyone who is super hungry wants to stop eating and everyone who can stand the thought of food wants to be able to eat!! What are we like hey!! Grin

Rachieg88 · 02/03/2017 20:33

Also, greentrees that is great news! If only you could have a glass of wine to celebrate! Maybe a nice celebratory glass of sparkling water instead Wine

Emberblu · 02/03/2017 21:03

Haha I know we all want what others have haha. That's why I support the idea of the pregnancy hibernation pod! 10storeylovesong don't feel guilty, I seem to feel guilty a lot at the moment but it makes it worse, it's not worth it and certainly not justified Smile lovechild oh dear! I have been avoiding that situation by just not showering.... BlushGrin or at least putting it off until I feel disgusting and have to!

10storeylovesong · 02/03/2017 21:08

Another one avoiding the shower - dry shampoo is my best friend. Luckily the toilet is next to the shower so I can vom into the toilet while showering!

emwithme · 02/03/2017 21:27

Congratulations to those who have had lovely news and have seen beans on scans

I had my booking in this morning; as I thought I will be under consultant-led care which means going to Bristol (I'm in Weston-super-Mare so about 45 minutes drive away) but the midwife recommends that I also do the tour of the midwife-led unit at the local hospital just in case, as apparently Ehlers-Danlos can lead to really short labours (we're only 10 minutes from the local hospital even at rush hour) so it'd be handy if I'd seen the local hospital too. Even if I do deliver in Bristol, I can be transferred back to Weston post-natally if necessary which would be far easier for DH to manage visiting if I'm in for a couple of days.

I've only actually been sick once (when I was 4+5 and at a wedding!) but have been feeling queasy on and off since; I've described it to DH as a cross between hangover sickness and travel sickness. When I'm feeling queasy I'm annoyed that I'm feeling queasy, when I'm not feeling queasy I'm worried that it means something is going wrong. (which according to the midwife is totally normal). I've also had some brown spotting today (well, not even spotting, my discharge has a few brown streaks in) which according to Dr Google is entirely normal for 6+5 (it's not accompanied by any cramping or pain other than a few niggly-stretchy feelings).

I have to now wait for my scan appointment to come by post (I had hoped I'd leave the midwife with it today) so we've booked a private scan for when I should be 9 weeks exactly (I wanted it a week earlier but DH can't do any time that week that I can!)

emvy · 02/03/2017 21:54

emwithme I'm close to Bristol also but just changed to Gloucester as would cause difficulties with post-natal care (I'm just in the Gloucestershire county side!). Bristol is meant to have a fantastic maternity unit but it definitely sounds like w-s-m is a good option to have if you need it!

boxesoffrogs · 02/03/2017 21:57

Good to see all the lovely and positive news! Concerned I am getting left behind, I am 7+2, saw GP last week, but they said the booking in people would contact me in a few weeks...

In other news, is anyone else horrendously itchy? I have eczema and allergies anyway, but seriously feel like I want to scratch my own skin off over the last few days. Can't take my normal antihistamines either. Any tips/thoughts?

abcdemma · 02/03/2017 22:11

I'm so off my food right now! Simple meals, little and often is the key here! I lost a stone and a bit when pregnant with DS and he was/is perfectly healthy. Baby will take what it needs so don't worry.
