thatgirl I can't live without hot baths. I do try and tone it down from the full scald I normally have. The risk is your core temp too high. Like undersecretary says avoid hot tubs, but a nice relaxing hot bath is a life saver when the aches and pains set in!

donkey86 · 01/03/2017 10:31

The advice I've read on baths is that if it feels ok for you to get straight in, you're fine. If it's so hot you have to hop on one ankle then the other til it's a manageable temp to sit down then it's too hot and should be avoided. I love a good hot bath and have just lowered the temp a degree or two from hot to v warm.

10storeylovesong · 01/03/2017 10:33

I normally love hot baths but for the last couple of weeks I can't stand them or showers. I think any increase in temp is just setting my sickness off again - was stood in shower this morning vomiting into toilet next to me! Even washing my hair is an absolute challenge. I'm on a first aid course today and I've had to not eat anything and empty my stomach before I got here just to try and get through it, but I've already had to run out 3 times.

I've got my booking in apt on Friday, I'll be 9+2. Not even got a date for my scan yet - all seems a little last minute!

ThatGirl82 · 01/03/2017 10:36

Thank you for the reassurance re hot baths! I've only had the one, it was very hot but I didn't have my whole body in and didn't stay in for ages, so hopefully it's ok. I'm just being super paranoid about everything now!

thisismadness77 · 01/03/2017 12:39

I've just phoned my midwife re the aspirin and she said it won't do any harm so I'm going to give it a go. She also said to ring the EPU to see if I can bring my scan forward due to anxiety. I honestly think I'll go mad waiting another week.

confusedat23 · 01/03/2017 12:45

Does anybody else have the blues!?!? I am having a really woe is me day today!

The nausia is starting to kick in but i'm worrying its not enough... the stomach pain in stopping a bit and now i'm wanting it back!

What is wrong with me!?!? LolBlush

confusedat23 · 01/03/2017 12:46

Madness I hope EPU will be able to bring your scan forward! Flowers

leannejade · 01/03/2017 12:49

@confused how far along we're you when you're sickness started? I'm 6w+5 and no sickness. Just incredible lower back ache at the moment :( x

confusedat23 · 01/03/2017 12:52

Leanne i'm 5+6 today and it's the first day i have really felt any sickness... although i have been distracted with the pain i get from having fluid around my Ovary...

confusedat23 · 01/03/2017 12:54

The fluid ois caused by the Corpus Lutum (i think thats how its spelt) and its producing the hormones to keep the baby alive... thats why i still want the pain lol it should only stop when the placenta starts taking over at 10+ weeks

SammyW1977 · 01/03/2017 13:16

Hi all waves currently 5+4 with my first at 39. Due 28th October I think. so excited for first appointments. Wouldn't have left it this late but I spent 14 years with the wrong guy for me who didn't want kids, before meeting the love of my life. So excited!

charmanar · 01/03/2017 13:25

sammy hello - glad you finally met your baby daddy!!

confused I'm feeling a bit blue today, because I'm feeling sick I hate my job right now and feel like I'm being a crap wife, and was thinking on the way to work this morning that if this pregnancy failed I just don't think I could do it again! It's so easy to forget about the pregnancy (and childbirth 😱) and how awful they are when you want a baby, and then when you feel so ill it's a bit difficult to see the light through the trees. Bit of a ramble, sorry, I do know it's worth it in the end! My lovely colleague has agreed to swap one of my weekend shifts though so at least I don't have to work again until Sunday now.

Wish there was a pregnancy hibernation pod that you could just check into and sleep for 9 months!

PlayOnWurtz · 01/03/2017 13:25

Hi all. My mood is so flat today. I'm usually really upbeat but all I want to do is hit people, it's like I've got permanent pmt which I'm putting down to the progesterone. My anxiety has gone through the roof and I'm not sleeping either since I spoke to the snotty midwife. I really want to walk away from all the antenatal care and ignore it all

confusedat23 · 01/03/2017 13:31

I'm glad I am not the only one feeling blue Char and Play

I second the thought on the Pregnancy Pod! I am just so insanely scared of losing the baby because we have been through so much for the last 2 weeks already and I am so invested in my little bubble!

The worst part is having no one to talk to about it! DH really doesn't get it at all bless him and everything he does just annoys me.

Someone (From a different cultural background to myself) sat accross the bench from me at lunch and proceeded to eat his sloppy lunch with his hands... I had to get up and storm off before I said something... and I wouldn't ever normally say anything about how someone eats! Blush

I just want to jump to 12 weeks already! lol

DancingUnicorn · 01/03/2017 13:46

I'm sorry you're feeling blue confused! You've been through so much and must still be in a higher state of anxiety than normal! Hopefully it will pass when you've seen little bubble's heartbeat.

I'm also feeling completely down. Really struggling through work today (and really busy) but honestly all I want to do is go home and cry in bed for the rest of the day. It's a horrible feeling. I really desperately hope it passes. :'(

Starfish83 · 01/03/2017 13:51

Just checking in and sending hugs to those who are feeling blue. 💐

So, a bit of a random question - any opinions on using St Tropez Everyday Moisturiser when pregnant? I have done my research and know that it's likely to be fine, but just wanted some 'real' opinions. Thought a slick of colour might make me feel better but, of course, wouldn't do anything to put my bean at risk!

thisismadness77 · 01/03/2017 14:01

I don't think I'm going to change the scan date. If it's bad news I'm not ready to know! I feel a bit better for crying at the midwife on the phone haha. She must think I'm nuts now... oh well!
St Tropez q I was wondering the same (similar) about putting a colour on my hair...

confusedat23 · 01/03/2017 14:12

I think I am Dancing but there are so many of us on here and Baby Challenge that are within a few weeks of each other and feeling the same so maybe it is just a stage we all go through! I really am struggling today too... I even bought some baby bits and tickets to Friends Fest (even though I am guarenteed to bethe size of a whale by then) and I STILL don't feel any better!

Thanks for the hugs Starfish I am not sure about the ST Tropez thing to be honest, I have heard there are chemicals that can effect the baby from stuff like that but not sure if thats scare mongering I have read or not!

I can answer the question about hairdye for Madness and it's that you will need to be skin tested again as pregnancy can change what you are allergic to/make you more sensitive. It can also change the result of the colour! The best thing to do normally is to go for something like highlights that do not touch the scalp

Madness if thats what you feel hun then you need to go with that. I am sure everything with your little bean is perfect! If it helps I have already had 2 scans so far and although it is nice to see things progressing it does not get rid of the anxiety before the next scan Flowers

MoominMama22 · 01/03/2017 14:14

Personally I wouldn't recommend colouring your hair at all just now, the strong chemical fumes and the fact it touches your scalp. Later in pregnancy I would think highlights are OK or colour that doesn't come into contact with scalp, in a very well ventilated room or salon. Some people do it all the way through though so just a matter of opinion. I used natural Henna (from lush) last time I was pregnant to give my hair a boost.
Not sure about tan! I booked a spray tan for a hen do, but I'm cancelling it, more because of the fumey nature of the spray tan and breathing it in really.

MoominMama22 · 01/03/2017 14:17

Ugh just realised I was planning on cancelling spray tan but getting eyelash/brow tint with my beautician instead. That's dye duuh! ( And it probably won't take anyway because pregnant hair and brows go weird) Not sure how I am going to feel even vaguely glamorous on this hen do now. Wish I didn't have to go and be the lump in the corner

greentreeseverywhere · 01/03/2017 14:17

hi all popping back as so far so good.

I'm sorry for all those who a have lost or are worrying. I know it's awful Flowers

anyone had sore/swollen gums? mines really bad on one side. but apparently a good sign!

iv had awful nausea the last two weeks but luckily only sick a few times but have felt awful.

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow (fingerscrossed) and having an early scan so I hope and pray it's all good. I don't know if I can try again if it's not Confused
hopefully be back tomorrow with good news xxxxxx

thisismadness77 · 01/03/2017 14:29

I don't know how to tag someone so apologies if I don't seem to reply to helpful comments. :) I'm trying to! TBH I can barely be honest to brush my hair at mo so will def park the dye. :)
Anyone else's husband have the look of a frightened animal? I seem to be so short tempered both with him and with my gorgeous girl. I think I need to have a chat with him. He's lovely but think I'm so hormonal and anxious and uncommunicative it's not much fun for him either. Also... anyone else gone off sex? Esp because of two previous losses, I have no desire to take any risks however small... on top of the exhaustion and eating for England (and the wind!) I have zero desire....

10storeylovesong · 01/03/2017 14:30

I had my hair dyed last week. I did it all the way through my first pregnancy and asked my midwife and she said it was fine, so I don't see any reason not to again. I'm extremely risk averse due to my history, but I'm happy to do that.

hometownunicorn · 01/03/2017 14:44

I had sore gums in the first couple of weeks after I found out, and I'm sure I read that was normal.

Had a bit of spotting last night so I'm a bit edgy today but called a super reassuring midwife earlier which really helped. It is all just so anxiety provoking!

Luna4689 · 01/03/2017 17:25

Feeling so down today.
Not been very well so called in sick at work, you wouldn't believe the amount of bitchy comments I got back from everyone. The stress they are putting on me to work ridiculous hours is getting too much. Don't know what to do.
