Welcome to all newbies!
boxes it is useful that they know, I kept telling MWs I was sure to get PND last time because I've had depression. luckily I didn't but I think it helped them, and helped me even, to be aware.

Leanne 16w will probably be the next time you see MW but you should get letter with scan date in the mean time.

babycarmen which hosp is your consultant care at? Just because you said you were up near me!

Soo I had my booking in today. It was a bit of a farse! Couldn't get my blood and then burst a vein splattering blood everywhere all over her desk, herself! So got to go to the nurse next week for bloods found out I'm red pathway so have to have all my scans and appts in hospital rather than local GP, and means they want me to cancel the 12w scan I have booked there Shock(not sure I will!) and plan is elective section at 39 weeks. Really gutted I have to go into hospital because it's such a trek, but glad midwife was nice.
9+4 today Smile

doomkittycleo · 28/02/2017 20:41

trytowin my GP said paracetamol is fine, just don't touch ibuprofen or any other NSAI's.

Babycarmen · 28/02/2017 20:50

Moomin I'm assuming I am - Dr Grays Hospital in Moray! Where are you? I'm red pathway too. Why are you getting elective c section? Sorry if you've said already and I missed it!

boxesoffrogs · 28/02/2017 21:02

Thanks moomin, wurz and donkey for the reassurance!

donkey86 · 28/02/2017 21:26

trytowin Sudafed and the own brand equivalents are fine too. I've got a cold and have got through almost a whole box in the last few days!

DancingUnicorn · 28/02/2017 21:28

I'm sorry today was difficult moomin. I'd have fainted with all the blood... I'm going to be a nightmare for some poor midwife. I'm sorry everything will have to be hospital based for you and that it's a trek! Hopefully they'll be extra lovely to make up for it! I'm pretty lucky, oh and I decided we'll probably just walk home from the hospital when our time comes! Not too long a walk and all down hill! (I guess we may change our minds when it actually happens!!)

conkerchops · 28/02/2017 21:45

Just checking in after a couple of days - I am so so so sorry to hear all the sad news. I hope you are all surrounded by love and support and are able to take all the time that you need to rest and recover. Holding you all close in my thoughts and hoping that happier news is not too far away xxxxxxxxxxxx

doomkittycleo · 28/02/2017 21:49

She did say to me to stick to normal paracetamol, not the one with sudafed. She didn't say why tho.

Trytowin · 28/02/2017 21:52

Really? Donkey and doom got fed up with everyone saying no and suffer! Is it just the ones from the supermarket or pharmacist?

PlayOnWurtz · 28/02/2017 21:53

You can take aspirin (I'm taking 75mg to help sustain pregnancy) use steam with menthol and run a vibrating object (such as a toothbrush) over the sinuses that are blocked. It will help!

doomkittycleo · 28/02/2017 22:01

She just told me to use the plain 16p ones from the supermarket.

Trytowin · 28/02/2017 22:14

It's my nose blocked badly and running plus mucus leaking out my eyes (it burns so much) rather than a headache iyswim so if sudafed is on the ok list I would be chuffed.

doomkittycleo · 28/02/2017 22:22

Maybe just ask the pharmacist

donkey86 · 28/02/2017 22:42

I just bought mine off the shelf in Boots, not the pharmacy bit. I stood in the shop and googled 'sudafed pregnancy' on my phone and the top result said it was ok so that was good enough for me. Having just googled it again I see there are different opinions out there though. I won't take any more for now.

Glitterbubble · 28/02/2017 23:53

Just caught after a couple of days away from the forum..

So sincerely sorry for you ladies who have received bad news FlowersFlowers thinking of you all xx

Congratulations and welcome newbies!!

I booked DH and myself tickets to the baby and toddler show next week end, have a good look around, what we will need and want!! ...no purchasing though, don't want to jinx anything xx

charmanar · 01/03/2017 06:21

God, how are people up so late! I'm falling asleep on the sofa at 8 every night at the moment. Doesn't help that my LO wakes up at 6 I guess.

I wouldn't take sudafed in pregnancy, I've always been taught that decongestants were a no, although everything has a risk I guess so you have to balance it with the benefits. Hope you are feeling a bit better this morning, it's awful being pregnant and ill together! Even the thought of snot is making me feel queasy now 🤢

Trytowin · 01/03/2017 08:04

Hi char it's more likely we could not sleep LOL. When I'm not ill with this I'm so tired and go to sleep around 9 but then even if dog tired I wake up at 2/2.30 and can't sleep again! I will try and power through without pills. I swear it's to make life as difficult as poss! Waiting for the time to call in again, but don't see what else I can do I can barely walk in a line so getting in a car would be dangerous for us and everyone else!

Trytowin · 01/03/2017 08:07

On a pos note had my booking in appt last week. It's at home in my area so my bloods are next week. Got consultant led due to my weight. (No surprise though I was losing weight ready for this I 'caught' in the 2nd month proper trying so that plan went out of the window!)

88claire · 01/03/2017 09:17

Hi Ladies,

Had an early reassurance scan at George's today, got there at 7.30 and out by 8.34. I'm 5 weeks 5 days and I measured 5.5 weeks. They saw a pregnancy sac and yolk sac but want me to go back In two weeks to see the baby. They were absolutely lovely and no questions asked with my history.

I'm so relieved with my first pregnancy at 6 weeks there was literally nothing there!

The next two weeks will be torture but I'm closer than I was to having a baby than my last pregnancy Smile

Thinking on everyone with bad news Flowers

Happy Wednesday!

ThatGirl82 · 01/03/2017 09:36

Congratulations to all the newbies!

I'm 6w4d today and still don't really have any symptoms. I'm also super anxious as only discovered you aren't supposed to have hot baths yesterday, and I had one on Monday so worried about that.

I have booked a private scan for in a week and a half but I know I'm going to be so worried until then, as we all seem to be!

MoominMama22 · 01/03/2017 09:40

Aww Yay babycarmen you really are up in my neck of the woods, well, ish! My care will now be at AMH. Elective section because last time was 3 failed inductions and a traumatic emergency CS. I said I would only be keen on vbac if could have MW led unit, water birth etc she said I wouldn't get any of that on red pathway , so that's decision made.

UndersecretaryofWhimsy · 01/03/2017 09:58

I'm having hot baths. I'm pretty sure you're just not supposed to use hot tubs or steam room-type environments because you run a greater risk of overheating. More of your body is out of the water in a normal bath so it should be fine.

MoominMama22 · 01/03/2017 10:17

Love the sound of the walk home dancing! Btw I'm not fussed about the trek to hosp for the birth, it's more the stack of antenatal appointments and clinics there .

Congratulations 88 that's lovely. Did you see a HB yet?

9+5 today, took pill first thing, with difficulty, and not been sick!

88claire · 01/03/2017 10:20

Moomin

No heartbeat yet but I'm just so happy something could be seen and it's in the right place (and it's not quads as I dreamt the other night!). Should see a fetus and heartbeat all being well in two weeks :)

Sorry to hear about the sickness. Mine is starting to kick in in the mornings now....

thisismadness77 · 01/03/2017 10:23

I have 8 days to go till my early (9 wk!) scan and I am struggling. (2 consecutive m/c in past 18 months, the second only discovered at the 12 wk scan) I am snappy and impatient with my husband and my 4 year old. I'm obsessing with symptoms. Are they real, am I imagining, are they lessening...) I honestly don't know how I'll get through. I'm going on a hen weekend 6 hours away fri-sun, that will break it up at least but also I'm not the kind of person enjoys going 'out out' sober so it's going to be challenging too!
