chintaria so sad for you. Sending you a tight hug, I hope you can rest and recover surrounded by people who love you. Flowers

emvy · 28/02/2017 17:54

Good luck confused! Flowers

shellbell2014 · 28/02/2017 18:08

Hi Confused,

We have same dates! I'm also 5+5. Glad your early scan went well. I also had severe pain due to fluid around ovaries but that was result of IVF drugs. Thankfully it is calming down! My early scan is the day after your next scan... seems like a lifetime away yet! Hope yours goes well x

Leafs123 · 28/02/2017 18:11

Hi, can i join? EDD 19TH Oct, first time and new to mumsnet!

DancingUnicorn · 28/02/2017 18:15

Sorry your midwife wasn't kinder wurtz. I spoke to someone in my team for the first time yesterday, and thankfully she was lovely. But am feeling very disheartened by how far away my appts are. First one at 11+2 for booking! On 26th March! Seems sooo long to wait. At least my scan follows pretty quickly!

Generally feeling really anxious and sad and just generally different today. I know there's nothing I can do about anything at the moment other than be grateful I am pregnant today. But my rational mind doesn't seem to work like that. :(

Babycarmen · 28/02/2017 18:23

Had my booking in appt today! (7+3) all very normal stuff just paperwork, weight and height. Back in a couple of weeks for bloods. Under consultant-led care again but I knew I would be because of problems with DD 1 and 2. I've already met my consultant when I was in EPU and he's lovely :)

Nausea hasn't been AS bad today, I've actually managed to do stuff. Seabands are helping a lot. But I'm coming down with the cold I think so I generally feel miserable! And absolutely shattered as usual.

emvy · 28/02/2017 18:40

Hi leafs!

Dancingunicorn, hope you feel a bit more cheerful tomorrow with a new day. Each new day brings new emotions I find, so hard to keep up!!

Glad your nausea has been a little better today babycarmen

leannejade · 28/02/2017 18:49

I had my first appointment with the midwife yesterday - my EDD is October 20th! First baby!
Very nervous as I've had a lot of pain (started as cramps, now is lower back ache) for the past 2 weeks so I'm hoping everything is ok!

Excited to get my first scan date through even though I have NO IDEA when they send that stuff across!

leannejade · 28/02/2017 18:55

Also - can anyone talk me through what happens next. I saw the midwife who gave me my notes and loads of booklets and told me I need to make my 16 week appointment first week in may. Like, I have literally no idea what I do next or what!

MrsCharlieD · 28/02/2017 19:08

Just catching up on the thread after a couple of days. I am so sorry to read such sad sad news. Thinking of you bubbles, tiny and zookeeper 😢 x

emvy · 28/02/2017 19:33

leannejade it's different everywhere but as the midwife said to book your appointment in may, book the appointment in may using whichever means she advised and until then - sit tight and try to enjoy it as much as possible! Best of luck Smile

rainingcats · 28/02/2017 19:35

Sorry to hear all the sad news but congratulations to all the newbies on the thread. I have received my booking appointment for march 13th but need to figure out how to tell work I need the time off, didnt want to tell anybody at work until later on and my job means I cant book a days holiday etc, I might just have to be brave and blurt it out to my manager!

boxesoffrogs · 28/02/2017 19:38

Also catching up. So sorry to hear all the sad news, hope you are all being looked after Flowers

Had a strange call from my GP today, saying she had been going through my notes and had noticed that I had a 'history of depression' (a few years ago I went through a bad patch after several tragic events and was on antidepressants for about a year). She said she needed to notify the midwife just incase. Ummm, not sure what to make of that??

App says 7 weeks today. Still veering between excitement and full on anxiety. It's a strange time. Not helped by the fact that dp is working away again this week, and the twinges and cramps that have me rushing to the loo constantly, convinced that I am bleeding...

Hope the rest of you are having a good evening.

Tigger83 · 28/02/2017 19:41

Dancing sorry you're feeling sad, I felt like that yesterday I'm sure it's just hormones playing games with us

hometownunicorn · 28/02/2017 19:43

I got my scan date today, which is one thing to look forward to. leannejade mine was sent through as soon as my GP referred me, so took about a week.

Otherwise I've been feeling like utter shit today which is very annoying. Hard to concentrate on anything for most of the afternoon.

rainingcats can you just tell work it's a medical appointment for now rather than saying exactly what it is? Or will they not accept you being that vague?

PlayOnWurtz · 28/02/2017 19:45

A history of depression will simply mean they'll offer you more support. I have severe mental health issues with anxiety and depression and had severe Pnd so I'm under the consultant for my care

donkey86 · 28/02/2017 19:47

boxesoffrogs I also have a history of depression and the midwife made sure to note it down. She explained that normally mums are released from midwife care one week after the birth but if they think for any reason someone is at a higher risk of PND they will keep in contact for a month instead. I don't know if it's the same everywhere though.

leannejade · 28/02/2017 19:49

@emvy I think I'm confused as that's my 16 week scan so I don't think I'm supposed to just wait it out for 10 weeks. I'm guessing the hospital will contact me. It's awkward because I'm moving to the other side of Manchester when I'm about 12 weeks so the midwife I saw said she's going to do everything from the hospital I'll be closer to when I'm due, so I have no idea who to contact etc until they get in touch with me.
As you can tell I'm new to this!

emvy · 28/02/2017 19:59

Oh that is confusing leannejade. It's all new to me as well so I'm probably not the best person to give advice, this is just through my own experience over the past few weeks and what I've been told to do! 16 week scans don't happen where I am though so I'm really not sure. If you have a contact number for the midwife you're under now, nearer the time you move, you could give them a call and just ask them to confirm your next steps. They should understand your anxiety with the move as well so I'm sure they won't mind.

TippetyTapWriter · 28/02/2017 19:59

leanne the scan should be at about 12 weeks not 16. I think 16 will be a midwife appointment to check urine etc and see how you're getting on?

Feeling mentally crap today. The tension is winding me up! Nausea completely stopped yesterday and is only very slight today. Got back ache and had a really sharp pain across my stomach. I know it's probably nothing but the constant worry is winding me up. Can't even have a drink or a hot bath to relax! And I'm so desperate for a nice cup of tea!!

TippetyTapWriter · 28/02/2017 20:02

This might help: www.nhs.uk/Conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/Pages/antenatal-appointment-schedule.aspx

Trytowin · 28/02/2017 20:04

Sorry to hear all the sad news. I've got a most awful cold and can't take anything :-( off work sick today. Gonna try breathe right strips to see if they help along with mango juice, raspberries for the vit c hit.

leannejade · 28/02/2017 20:04

Tipperty & emvy yeah it's just a midwife appointment at 16 weeks, but I don't know if they contact me about a scan towards 12 weeks, she has written in the notes it'll be when I'm about 10 weeks.

I think I'm extra anxious as I've just had a lot of cramps and back ache and no sickness so I'm worried. Stressing about telling my manager at work when the time comes, too! ConfusedBlush

autumnheart · 28/02/2017 20:07

Hi I'm due with my first on 29th October - this is my first post on mumsnet! Great to feel like part of a community in this, as so far nobody knows about my pregnancy (except DH as you'd hope...) and it still doesn't quite feel real! Exciting to hear about so many babies coming into the world this October, but so sorry to hear about those who have had sad news already. X

emvy · 28/02/2017 20:25

leannejade maybe that will prompt the new place to send out a scan date for you then, then?

Welcome, autumnheart!
