New thread before the old one explodes!

OP posts:

rosylonginglily · 08/03/2007 13:53

Chocolatepenny, I remember Fox saying she finds Tens really helpfull too. I however can't stand them

No dh yet, I'm holding off calling him to see where he is, it's against my policy

Tonight I'm going to have some reflexology with my christmas voucher. yay.

bethoo · 08/03/2007 13:55

rosy - have to agree with you regards tens, i tried it but no effect and i found it rather annoying!

LunarSea · 08/03/2007 14:25

Last time around, we were offered the loan of a TENS from the hospital. This time nothing, not even a mention by the midwife, or any discussion of strategies for the birth.

Am really struggling to concentrate on work today. Baby is having a real wriggle fest - I don't know about 10 movements in a day, I'm getting about 10 a minute at the moment!

yep undecided on the Tens issue, as babs is currently back to back it may not work.
Lunar keep that bump in line, kicking's OK but no turning about at this stage! I find a hefty snack does the trick.

TheBlonde · 08/03/2007 15:18

Chocolatepenny - DS was back to back and it worked for me. But as the others have said it just doesn't seem to work for/suit other people

I am really hoping it works again for me as the hospital I'm booked at is gas & air or epidural - nothing else offered!

LunarSea · 08/03/2007 15:28

ChocolatePenny - he seems to switch from having his back on my right, to on the left/in the middle on an almost daily basis at the moment. Fortunetely it doesn't seem to have occured to him (yet) to try flipping over.

so to push my luck,
sorry about your dd, eidsvold
go on, evenhope, give the moxibustion a go! my dd is due on 13th so maybe they will share a birth day!
good luck with house, laidback

Piffle · 08/03/2007 15:35

Hmmmm earlier today dug up a rose from under our frint hedge, dug a new hole for it out the back and have replanted it.

I told Dp and he said he's taking tomorrow off.

He says it's a sign....
He does crack me up, the ground was soft, twas not hard work LOL

morocco · 08/03/2007 15:37

lol piffle - do you think dh is right then??

we had a 'sign' as well, dh's tooth fell out - he always has some tooth drama to overshadow my birth pain! off to dentist today so I fully expect contractions to start just as his pain relief wears off

Chocolatepenny · 08/03/2007 15:39

Lunar know what you mean, my bump moves into the middle in the night and my bump is all pointed, freaks me out everytime.

Piffle · 08/03/2007 15:39

if it does...
our littlest dog has had surgery today
dd is poorly and needs night cuddles

We will be stretched ALL ways
Next week would be better

Mistiek · 08/03/2007 16:38

Just had a thought. Could my bleeding I had on Tuesday actually be a show? (being masked by my problem I have with my cervix) Its was not bright red bleeding but browny red with my discharge.... no mucus but then I have been loosing mucus for well over a week now. What do you all think? Is a show always a blob of Mucus?

Have contraction all day today some very slight and others a bit more soar... I know I am only 37 weeks and stil have 2 weks to C-sec but could this be it or am I just hoping to much...

Piffle maybe it is a sign - sods law always hates me and things always come at the wrong time - so you never know....

Piffle · 08/03/2007 16:54

mistiek when I've had shows, they've been quite GROSS ALERT

chunky mucous like almost firm, pink tinged very lightly.

spongecake · 08/03/2007 17:56

keep getting backache -first time since been pregnant, so kind of hoping.. next week would be better though really having trouble walking if have been sitting lying down, as baby feels like its almost out... but I know it can't be.... no laughing all you experienced mums

dp says GOOD when I update him on my aches and pains, which I choose to hope is because of baby coming, not because I am being hormonal grumpy old bag!

sazzybee · 08/03/2007 18:23

I am officially very fed up
I've walked the length and breadth of Brent Cross shopping centre and no baby. Even the contractions seem to have stopped.
I wouldn't mind so much except they have beein telling me since I was 32 weeks that he would be early and now there's only 3 days to go till his due date. I feel like complaining to someone Bah
I'll read the thread now - hopefully I'll feel inspired. Sorry for being such a grumpy chops x

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 08/03/2007 18:36

Sazzy, I think we're all grumpy now. I've learnt to take no notice of what anyone says about my pregnancies, due dates etc etc. you realise after a while that they're all guessing really and you only get your hopes up.

TheBlonde · 08/03/2007 18:56

I am also fed up - if this baby had come early I wouldn't have got any stretchmarks - a crop have just appeared round my belly button

I am now resigned to this baby being 2 weeks late, might have some reflexology at the weekend

rosylonginglily · 08/03/2007 20:16

I couldn't have reflexology because I have athletes foot on the sole of one foot and she said my body would be unbalanced, which was slightly disappointing because she had said the reflexology could start my labour...
oh well, instead I had a gorgeous aromatherapy back massage so I feel all serene now and not at all grumpy like all you lot
I'll be grumpy later though if that dh of mine doesn't appear soon!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 08/03/2007 20:25

Rosy, the massage sounds lovely. I try and bribe my boys to massage my sore feet at the end of the day. They are not very good
I'd LOVE to have someone massage away my aches and pains. Infact it's always been a fantasy of mine to have a personal masseur come round my house and give me a good seeing to ona regular basis .

Chocolatepenny · 08/03/2007 20:55

The Blonde- I have terrible strech marks now, only female in our family to suffer! they go all around my waist at the bottom of the bump! they prob will fade but I can't see them ever disappearing they are too deep.

eidsvold · 08/03/2007 21:15

no stretch marks with no1 ( but she was ditty) lots of stretch marks with dd2 - and now getting stretchmarks on top of stretchmarks with no3 BUT think I am bigger now that I was with dd2 at 10 days overdue

had a relatively good night's sleep - at least it did not take me long to get to sleep.

Callie - i know how your colleague feels - I had to tell what happened to 5 different people whilst in A & E yesterday. Dh works at the hospital where we were and I told him they would have the social services out after me!!

well cooler last night and today - lovely storm last night.

Off swimming today with dd2 as usual then home for a nap for both of us - we are usually knackered after swimming. Only one more for dd2 in the mother and baby class and then she 'graduates' to swimming lessons on her own - no mummy in the pool, no other children.

Sending labouring vibes to those who are having stops and starts....

eidsvold · 08/03/2007 21:44

meant to share about my bump!!

I managed to iron my bump the other night It was stinking hot and I had a crop top and shorts on with huge bump sticking out. Obviously forgot how large bump was and as I was ironing dd1's shirt i pulled the iron towards me and hit my bump with the edge of the iron - did not hurt too bad and got some cream on it straight away BUT now I have a bright red line just above my belly button. DH laughed and asked if that was the cutting line.

This morning - dd2 got up and found the stickers she was given at the hospital for being a big brave girl. SHe stuck them on her vest and has been wandering the house chatting about her stickers.

I am sitting at the pc just checking email etc before we start the day. In my dressing gown that does not quite meet over my bump. Cue dd2 coming up and sticking her stickers on my belly. SO I have one sticker with a teddy that says I am a little cutie and another with a pink monkey that says I am a good girl.

kiwibella · 08/03/2007 21:48

popping in to see the new arrivals... thanks for the thread Callie - that sped things up!! I can't believe how many new bubba's there are and hope they are all healthy and well.

Same for our beautiful expectant Mama's. It's weird reading your "impatient, ready and waiting" posts.

Kitty you are wicked . I am going for a massage tomorrow - a pregnancy gift from my Mummy that I didn't get to use in time. But, figure it's better this way and will enjoy it regardless.

Rosy - hope your dh gets back safely tomorrow.

TheBlonde · 08/03/2007 21:51

eidsvold - no more ironing for you
