Carolina I think they say highlights are actually the safest option in pregnancy as no dye actually touches the scalp. I dye my hair at home but tend to wait until past 12 weeks and not do it too often during pregnancy.

Coreynkayden · 13/02/2017 14:26

Checking in im 8 weeks today Smile

Amz26 · 13/02/2017 14:36

Carolina80 I spoke to my hairdresser about getting my highlights done and she said it's fine! I've stop getting my nails done tho as I heard somewhere that it's not safe as the nail shops have strong smelling chemicals..has anyone heard this?
X

HellsBellsK · 13/02/2017 14:48

Caolina I get my full head dyed and then highlights as I have lovely grey hair right at the front.
I asked my doctor last Thursday as I heard highlights where okay but didn't find anything on dye.
She said it is fine - just make sure the room is well ventilated etc.

I can't wait to get mine done, last time it was done was in November. So getting it done on Wednesday before my scan!

calimommy · 13/02/2017 16:26

Anyone down weight? I'm down 5 lbs just the last two weeks and I can confirm I've barely left my couch other than seeing to my poor neglected children occasionally. Just not eating much. Also maybe the not drinking wine is finally benefiting me.

calimommy · 13/02/2017 16:26

Although I don't feel down weight, I feel huge. 😑

Carolina80 · 13/02/2017 17:15

Yes I lost half a stone because of ms am very slowly beginning to put it back on but only takes a couple of bad days and it all comes off again. It's quite normal at this stage though as long as we make up for it later.

Lules · 13/02/2017 17:49

Yeah I've lost weight, although I've got a lot fatter. I'm not eating very much so I'm not surprised really.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 13/02/2017 17:58

I think you've all given me your lost pounds Smile

Carolina80 · 13/02/2017 18:11

Got my scan date through at last 28th Feb so I will be 13 weeks by then. Feels forever away.

Amz26 · 13/02/2017 18:29

I've also found everyone's lost weight! I'm 4kg heavier :( I have been eating a lot so I'm not shocked to be honest 🙈
How's everyone feeling? X

oliversmummy26 · 13/02/2017 18:37

I've stopped weighing myself but definitely not lost any weight! An enormous! I tried my over bump maternity jeans at the weekend and be aide they push everything up rather than flattening it down I looked like I was 25 weeks! Told my best friend today she was thrilled and so excited for us! But she did say she could tell I'd put on weight..

10+2 today and two weeks until our scan, getting there slowly!

Lules · 13/02/2017 18:38

I'm sure I'll make up for it later - I did last time!

ADuckNamedSplash · 13/02/2017 18:50

I've lost a stone so far Sad I know 1st trimester weight loss is common, but I've not come across many people who've lost this much and am starting to worry it's too much! It does seem to be slowing though, at least - I was dropping 2lb a week but only 0.5lb last week.

OkyDoke · 13/02/2017 19:27

Im five pounds heavier at 12 weeks today. Not sickness or anything though!

Dixiechick1991 · 13/02/2017 19:38

Scan tomorrow !! Shock
Either gonna be 10+5 according to early scan dates or 12+3 by LMP

Found out at my early scan that I have a tilted uterus and there's some threads online that say that their dates were put back 2 weeks because of this (baby being farther away mm make a lot of difference in early scans)

Anyway fingers crossed there's a healthy little bean in there& all goes well
Don't know what I'll do with myself tomorrow morning!

calimommy · 13/02/2017 20:33

dixie good luck!

I was huge with my boys. And I never lost weight at any stage during those pregnancies so I'm happy to be loosing it now even if it goes back on later. Plus I'm heavier now than I was with them so it's NO HARM for sure🙄 also I always put on weight during breastfeeding. Hunger is real.

Kskifred · 13/02/2017 21:22

Really want my scan date through, and booking in app. Not been able to keep much down today but overall i have definitely gained weight. Looking forward to feeling normal so i can give SW better effort.

MrsY87 · 13/02/2017 21:50

I've neither lost or put on weight which I'm quite happy with as I feel like I'm just constantly eating. I lost 8lbs in the first trimester with my DD, think that was due to suddenly stopping all the alcohol calories and my appetite disappeared, complete opposite this time. I think weight loss in the first trimester is quite common so try not to worry too much if you have lost some weight, maybe just mention it to your mw at your next appointment.

Nausea has progressed into actually sickness for the first time this evening, oddly being sick, whilst horrible, has actually relieved the feeling of nausea. Feeling shattered after a busy weekend and day at work so hoping I can still get a decent nights sleep. Confused

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Dixie!

Travelgeek · 13/02/2017 21:51

Just 2lbs lost here. Amazing considering all the beige carbs I've been consuming in an unsuccesful attempt to keep the nausea at bay.

Had my booking appointment today, just lots of questions, bloods and urine sample. Midwife happy that I'm low risk. Booked my scan for 2 weeks today - same as you oliversmummy. Can't wait!

Good luck for tomorrow dixie

Pinkbottletop · 13/02/2017 21:56

Hi all

Just checking in. Been struggling lately. I'm 9 weeks exactly today. Mood swings at their peak. Also, put on quite a bit of weight because only thing that gets rid of the nausea is eating!

Really selfish moment, but are any of you step parents? There was a lot of drama with my DPs ex and she doesn't want me around the child but now I'm pregnant, DP is having him stay with us regardless (usually he would spend the weekend at his mums). But I'm finding it really overwhelming going from having a quiet, tidy calm house to one where there's this child running riot and screaming at the top of his lungs and throwing toys around and I'm just having to sit there and grit my teeth and not say anything. I actually went to the gym today to get peace! Half term too so it's constant from Friday up until Thursday now.

Pinkbottletop · 13/02/2017 21:57

Oh and I have my midwife booking in appointment tomorrow.

Frillyhorseyknickers · 13/02/2017 22:13

How odd that DPs ex doesn't want you near your stepson pink what was the reason for that?

I sympathise with the noise - I don't know how people cope with all the nausea and deal with small children on top - I applaud you.

Commuted into London again today, managed to avoid it for a week or so. The train in was absolutely horrific, I was facing the wrong way, the man next to me had bed breath and smelly coffee. 😰

Luckily meeting finished at 2, had an hour shopping on Oxford Street to cheer me up, back on train, back to rural middle England, peace and quiet ❤

DP just finishing my bathroom off, it's looking so good!

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 13/02/2017 22:13

HI all. Midwife called earlier and arranged my booking in appointment. It's on Monday 6th March and I'll be 11+2 by then! I asked her if that was a bit late and she said that it was but that's the first hour appointment she had available!!

Anyone else suffering from major tiredness? I really struggled at work this evening. I work 4-9pm monday-Friday. I did pretty much bog all tonight as I couldn't concentrate enough to do any marking or coaching. I felt like I could fall asleep standing up!! I have come straight home, grabbed snacks for now and first thing in the morning, and climbed into bed.

Any suggestions on how to deal with the exhaustion other than sleeping as much as possible and eating regularly?

Pinkbottletop · 13/02/2017 22:23

Frilly jealousy, unfortunately. She wanted him back but he chose me and she's never quite got over that. She hates me on principle. Refuses to properly meet me or have a conversation. She's very immature.
