dixie I'm the same, I can eat bowls of strawberries, blueberries and orange segments no problem. I think it's the fluid as well as the sugar. But anything with a hint of garlic, 🤢

Fffoodiemama · 12/02/2017 20:43

Hi, I hope it's ok for me to join in the chat, I really struggle to keep up on here but during my last pregnancy I joined a thread like this, which turned into a Facebook group and I made genuine friends on it so I wanted to reach out again and say hi. Huge congratulations to you all. I'm 9 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby and am so excited! How is everyone feeling? Xxx

calimommy · 12/02/2017 20:54

ffoodie we have a Facebook if your interested, if not that's fine too x
Email myself [email protected] and I can add you

Husband is currently debating a job move. In last 4 weeks he has been offered a new higher up job in current company but it involves a 30 min drive compared to 5 mins, weekends and earlies/lates. Starts tomorrow. He also applied for a similar job in a new company, same money as new job, role more similar to old job, mon to fri and 10 mins away.

We have no idea what to do. He wouldnt be eligible for paternity pay in new job but would take two weeks A/L hopefully. Always the danger if new job not working out as well where as hes been with old company 10 years. Ahhh! What would you do?

flymo79 · 12/02/2017 23:02

Hmmm tough one oky, I'd be wary of anything that meant weekend and evening work for dh as I was so reliant on him last time, but depends if you have other help nearby.
I'm bricking it to be honest, the reality is slowly dawning on me.... A three year old and a baby and living in a foreign country. Gulp!

Fluffywallow · 13/02/2017 07:03

Tricky one oky but that new job does sound tempting!! Sometimes you have to take a risk to get the rewards....maybe write a list of pros and cons for each job - sometimes seeing it in front of you can help.

Had a good nights sleep last night which felt good. Every morning I'm full of optimism that maybe today I'll feel better...this lasts a few hours max before the veil of sickness descends again Sad

Anyway, hope everyone is ok and has a good Monday!

10+3

Londonexhile · 13/02/2017 09:09

Fluffy for me it's every evening...last night in the shower I was contemplating getting back in the gym today....this morning... EnvyEnvy

How is everyone coping with DTD (or not as the case may be!!). I think my DH is finding the adjustment from almost constant when TTC to me hardly being up for it at all now tough. It was hard as we were away this weekend and normally that means lots, but I just didn't feel comfortable!! We managed it during my brief respite from sickness last night & it's always great once we get going, I just struggle to get in the mood!

Bloating doesn't help & massive boobs - got measured the other day & have moved from a 34D to a 36F!! Now in correctly fitting nonwired bra which is so much more comfortable!!

reallyreallyreallytired · 13/02/2017 09:32

Can I join you all please. 11 weeks today. Feeling sick still and exhausted. Next week can't come quick enough for my scan

charlij91 · 13/02/2017 10:01

Okydoke My OH went through a similar change last year. Had been at his company 9 years and got offered an amazing new position but rather than a 10min drive, was an hour commute each way. He took the leap as it was too good a position to turn down. Now, although he works longer hours and still has to do email etc when he gets home, I've never seen him happier! Is he happy in his current position? I think my OH felt he was in a dead end there, so knew moving was the right choice.

Frillyhorseyknickers · 13/02/2017 10:11

Morning. Anyone else feeling fat and unattractive. I've been a right lazy toad the last two weeks, I feel like I've put on a shit ton of weight.

Back to the gym tonight and slimming world tomorrow. I'm assuming that as SW is just healthy eating, it should be fine to do whilst preggers?

roobois · 13/02/2017 10:22

Frilly I'm in the same boat, feeling very unattractive, fat and no energy or enthusiasm to do anything. Been so lazy throughout the last 3 months. Looking forward to having a bit of a solid bump rather than looking a bit pregnant but it just being squidge instead.

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 13/02/2017 10:29

Morning frilly.
I'm feeling like a beached whale already. I was hardly a skinny supermodel before, but with the bottom of my tummy hardening and the rest of my tummy bloated from the beige food I've been eating, I just can't get comfy!! I've been laying in bed or lounging on the sofa all weekend. Dreading going to work this evening and having to sit properly at a desk and pretend nothing has changed!!

Slimming world is fine when you're pregnant. I think some midwifes recommend it!! Not sure if you get additional syns or not though.

We told my parents yesterday. More way I could hide it from them for another 4-5 weeks. Burst into tears bless them.

WhiteLily86 · 13/02/2017 11:11

Oh that is exciting coldfeet I can hardly wait to tell people. I think my mum knows already, just because.

Anyone had any bad reactions or nervous about telling anyone in particular?

I am worried my sister will take over and tell me this that and everything and make it identical to her, rather than realising it is my pregnancy!

My cousin is also going through an early hysterectomy just now after lots of issues so going to have to ask my mum for support on how to break it to her (no kids).

WhatwouldRuthdo · 13/02/2017 11:31

I also feel huge. Going out for a nice lunch for DH's birthday in a bit and I've had to don the unforgiving and uncomfortable clothes. Changing straight back the minute I get home. Am really running out of baggy work clothes.
Whitelily completely different scenario, but I'm a bit nervous of telling work as I know budget issues will mean they will struggle to get a maternity cover. It's a huge company though! I hope your sister will surprise you.

Heyitsholly · 13/02/2017 11:51

With slimming world you get an extra a+b choice a day. Same syns. Ive stopped the classes due to feeling so sick but will try follow it from home after i feel better.
Some people maintain on sw then loose 14 lbs after the birth and dont put it back on.

Fffoodiemama · 13/02/2017 11:59

calimommy that would be amazing if you don't mind, I've emailed you x

Frillyhorseyknickers · 13/02/2017 12:09

Glad to know I'm not the only one feeling wobbly but sorry to hear of others' woes.

This is my first so I'm not sure what to expect growth wise. I'm no skinny Minnie but have maintained my size 12 for the last 10years and I am struggling losing control of my waistline!

HellsBellsK · 13/02/2017 12:25

I'm feeling very wobbly too... It's such a hard in between bloat and bump don't feel very attractive either. My skin keeps breaking out in lovely spots also.
London I got measured last Thursday went from a 32C to 32F ekk.

12 week scan on Wednesday - It can't come quick enough!

fairraid · 13/02/2017 12:28

Hi, I'm board hopping from the October board with a quick question if you don't mind.

Are we still allowed to use bleach to clean with during the first trimester? My cousin told me last week that the fumes are not good and to avoid using during the first trimester.

roobois · 13/02/2017 13:07

Hi Fairraid
I'm afraid I don't know, I think you have to be careful with all chemicals but I think if you use gloves and are not using a huge amount it's ok. That's just from google though so not sure if that's true. I've used a bleach kitchen spray so far, so would be interesting to know if I should stop this and it can be another job added to DH's chores hehe

Does anyone know the answer?

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 13/02/2017 13:09

My sister had guessed but my mum hadn't quite put 2+2 together. I don't think it would have taken her long to guess I am pregnant but knowing my mum she would still have waited for us to tell her. I practically begged DH to let me tell my parents this weekend (he's very much wait until the 12 week scan ). I told him I need my mum and sister lol. Will wait till after scan to tell other family and friends though.

whitelily I was nervous about telling work as there are already 3 pregnant women on my team, plus one on maternity leave. But my team manager was so happy for me she started crying (she already knew we'd been trying for no2 for about 2years). I work for a fairly large company so HR etc aren't bothered about the maternity pay. Well I don't think they are.
I am also worried about telling husbands best mate and his wife. They haven't said anything but I have a very strong feeling they are going through fertility treatment. Will get hubby to phone his mate after scan before they hear it through our mum's etc.

I think I'll go and get measured this week, or ask my mum to measure me. I was already a f/g cup before falling pregnant.....I dread to think how big I'll get!!!

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 13/02/2017 13:12

I hope we can still use bleach!! I'm loving the smell at the moment, especially in comparison to the puppy poo and wee!! I've been going a little flash crazy!!
I don't recall anything about not using bleach first time round but advice changes xx

fairraid · 13/02/2017 13:24

I only want to put some bleach down the loo. I had stopped using it but apparently there is a shigellosis vommiting bug going round here. Loads of people i know have gone down with it.

HellsBellsK · 13/02/2017 13:25

I think bleach is okay to use as long as you are in a well ventilated room etc. I use it in the kitchen and the bathroom etc.

Carolina80 · 13/02/2017 13:31

A very girlie question! Does anyone know if it's safe to get your hair highlighted when you are pregnant? I can't go and get it done yet as I'm still very sickie and I think the smells in the hairdressers would set me off but my hair really needs sorting out sometime soon.
